Plymouth Argyle have appointed Bury boss Ryan Lowe as their new manager.

The 40-year-old led Bury to promotion from League Two, but the club have faced numerous off-field issues, including a winding-up petition, with players often going unpaid.

Sol Campbell has left his job as manager of Macclesfield. He kept them up last season after taking over with them five points adrift and they have got off to a reasonable start this season.

Macclesfield Town have appointed Daryl McMahon as their new head coach to succeed ex-England defender Sol Campbell.

Campbell left the Silkmen by mutual agreement on Thursday.

McMahon, 35, managed Ebbsfleet in the National League before his departure in November 2018 and this is his first Football League managerial job.

Macclesfield Town players and staff have asked the English Football League for help after they went unpaid again.

The EFL have since contacted the League Two club to request their observations, before deciding the next steps to take.

The Silkmen, who were previously taken to court by players over unpaid wages, are back in court on 23 October after a winding-up petition was adjourned.

The players said they found themselves "in a similar situation" to Bolton and Bury after payments were not received.

I am disappointed with Carlisle, thought they would be a lot stronger than this season has shown so far.

Not surprised at Morecambe's position, they have been regular strugglers for a couple of seasons now.

Macclesfield's League Two game against Crewe on Saturday has been suspended by the English Football League.

The Silkmen's players had said they would not play in protest over unpaid wages and that their emotional and mental wellbeing was at "rock bottom".

The EFL met with players and representatives from the Professional Footballers' Association on Friday.

Macclesfield later informed the EFL they were unable to fulfil the fixture, leading it to be suspended.

Mansfield Town have sacked manager John Dempster after seven months in charge.

The Stags have not won a league game since 26 October and are six games without a win in all competitions.

Dempster's last game in charge was Saturday's 1-1 draw at Crewe, which left the club 18th in League Two and 12 points below the play-off spots.

They reportedly want the Bristol Rovers manager but he has refused even though he may resign due to a lack of investment at the club!
