Today marks the third anniversary of shake it off which premiered on the 18th August 2014 in taylor's livestream. This has since become one of Taylor's defining songs and was a big hit in most territories including debuting at #1 in America and becoming Taylor's third song to peak at #2 in the UK!
This date, being Taylor's livestream, also saw the 1989 artwork, title and release date revealed and Taylor announced it was her first pop album! <3 as well as the SIO music video as well! So yeah 3 years ago was basically the start of the 1989 era *.* Did any of you watch the live stream? What's your opinion on Shake It Off? And feel free to add any comments about anything to do with this <3 |

I even sacrificed watching what I think was the CBB live launch so I could watch the live stream!

Initial Reactions: Part #1
AMAZING SONG. IN LOVE WITH IT This is my kind of favourite pop song. Future #1 in my personal chart. Hope it gets released on iTunes tonight here. IN LOVE WITH IT My stream keeps stopping unfortunately but it sounds so catchy and loving the big notes into the final chorus! Very catchy but the chorus feels quite restrained, it's not massive sing-a-long a la "We Are Never..." Can't name another Taylor song like it though, it is different for her and I naturally love it. Loving the sound of Shake It Off, was a tad unsure at the start but it grows at it goes along. Great pop track from Taylor Adore the video and I am so obsessed on the song Amazing idea and I love the song so so much Taylor is so loveable and amazing on this live stream That cheerleader part reminds me so much of the best damn thing in the video which is exactly what I thought about the song when I heard it the first time, so so amazing Very unique and great music video! Now I've heard the full song too, it's very different to what's out there at the moment and it feels so fresh! On VEVO already Her team are have planned this perfectly! Stunning song and stunning music video! Prebuying the album now First impression, glad the horn isn't as prominent as I thought it would be despite the trend of late. The song and video has a massive 'feel good' vibe to it that makes me smile.
So another catchy tune from Taylor! Here's to a new ERA! |

Initial Reactions: Part 2
The video came out just in time for me to watch it in the ads of CBB LOVE the song, it's quite Happy/All About That Bass which really suits the theme and her voice. So so catchy too, can't get it out of my head already! The song is very catchy, I really like the sound of it. Love the video as well, already one of her best and funnest to date for me. Welcome back Taylor! Not the most extravagant video ever but it works so well for the song, nice and fun! Absolutely boring. It doesn't escalate into anything throughout the song and there's nothing catchy in it for me! Oh I rather love this already, altho a tad disappointed she didn't use some country influences. She looks amazing in both the cheerleader part and the twerk part Horrendous song and video. It feels like a real shark jumper on a par with I Wanna Have Your Babies. Pretty much can't stand the girl really, but I can't deny the song and video are brilliant! Loving this, so catchy! Taylor is such a dork in the video I thought this was an overstatement, but no, it's pretty much true. she looks SO uncomfortable for most of the video. hate the whole 'one of the people, haters gonna hate' thing, you're not Geri Halliwell love. well this is brilliant. Taylor's proved she can make a good pop tune with the Red era and it seems like she's still delivering! This is quite different for her too which I love. Either way it's much better than her country songs. Massive hit in the waiting surely. |

I think I remember liking it a lot for the first week or so so! Then it started to grate on me.
Thankfully she had far, far better to come! In fact, 'Shake It Off' is my least favourite from the entirety of the '1989' era! |

I didn't really catch onto it for AGES, like almost a year it was meh for me until all the looning over it died down I got into it a fair bit. I might have heard it at a party or something though.

Still adore it It was one of those songs that just didn't tire on me at all no matter how much it got played It's a shame that the Sptify stuff was a mess, if it was added earlier or at the right time it'd have gone to number 1 But a high selling top 2 hit *.*
I even sacrificed watching what I think was the CBB live launch so I could watch the live stream! Omg yes! It was the start of the horrific Gary series |

I still really like it! I couldn't listen to it for about a year in 2015 because of the overplay though.
For me she surpassed this with the epic 'Blank Space' and 'Out Of The Woods'. |

Like others have said, I preferred Blank Space/Style. Blank Space had a fantastic video, whereas Shake It Off was DREADFUL.
I do find it ironic that Taylor Swift, the Regina George of the music world who enjoys capitalising on the takedown of ex boyfriends and female celebrities, has a song centred around shaking off the haters/bullies/doubters. |

Tae a shot every time someone drags Taylor with "Regina George of music" for daring to write about people

How else is she going to respind to numbnuts out there like you? I posted my opinion on Shake It Off and posted what was PRAISE for how I preferred the follow up in Blank Space. Stop singling people out purely because they disagree with you. You've done it here, in the AF mods discussion forum and starting to in the lounge. Back off and let people post fairly, your attitude is a perfect example of how posters on here can act as a deterrent from other people joining up and posting. |

and i posted mine of you. I'm not sorry you don't like it. Also, ask anyone here, I hate SIO, my problem is the fact you label Taylor as some kind of anti christ next to no good reason. Will you just drop it already? I've not labelled her as the anti-Christ by any degree, stop overrating Overreacting *, typos This post has been edited by Saenerys: 19th August 2017, 02:30 PM |
