Let's cut right to the chase:

I think today's pop music isn't as good as music is supposed to be...
Certainly, not all is bad, but I think it's all just too commercial.

On the other hand, music is just a thing of taste. Nothing is good or bad by definition. If you think it's good and you enjoy it, that it is good for you. I am just more a rock type o' guy..

Now I am curious if you can come up with some pop artists that I should listen and I can really enjoy. Can you name a few?

Katy Perry

But you are right. It is worse. Especially with pop brats like Justin Beiber.

Tina Arena is an excellent pop artist but not very well known in the UK.
Music is definitely no way as good as it used to be. I've been listening to 80s music and there are so many classics from this era which don't stand up against most of today's music which is heavily influenced by x factor/reality music.

I agree.

Since pixie flopped, pop music has went downhill, we have Zara to save everyone though.

I'd opt for either Grimes or Josef Salvat

Pop equals popular.

Plenty of substantial pop stars, like adele, taylor swift, to name the biggest. There has been a dance and pop overload though as other genres get locked out of the charts give or take a few big rnb acts.

Check out Lany - Where The Hell Are My Friends... it's good synth pop... Wait for the chorus, I'm hooked.

Pink, she's consistent, talented and knows what works for her.

I'd also like to add Butch Walker, although I'm not sure you could define his music as 'pop'...maybe 'pop-rock'? I'm not sure. But not only is his own music incredible, he's worked with a lot of big pop stars, so you probably enjoy his songs without even realising that he wrote and/or produced it smile.gif
