hello guys! I wonder if all eight of Justin's entries can remain in the top 40 this week laugh.gif

retro faves:

2014

Wasn't big on 'These Days', Take That have done better, and it was quite disappointing to see Band Aid 30 dethroned after just one week. 'Jealous' was quite good though I'm glad it didn't stay too long in the chart. 'Real Love' and 'Dangerous' are the real saving graces of the top 10 here anyway in what is quite a poor week.

2- DO THEY KNOW IT’S CHRISTMAS 2014- Band Aid 30 (61,554)
5- REAL LOVE- Clean Bandit Ft Jess Glynne (44,162)
7- JEALOUS- Labrinth (40,004)
9- DANGEROUS- David Guetta Ft Sam Martin (37,456)

2010

The X Factor single wasn't too bad but definitely not something I'd come back to. Poor 'Your Song' should've been a #1 really but Ellie would have #1s later thankfully. The main greats here are 'Like A G6' and the Rihanna songs anyhow. And speaking of Take That, 'The Flood' was a lot better than 'These Days' and 'Thinking Of Me' better for Olly than 'Wrapped Up' from 2014's chart.

2- YOUR SONG- Ellie Goulding (72,292)
4- THINKING OF ME- Olly Murs (59,658)
5- ONLY GIRL (IN THE WORLD)- Rihanna (55,005)
6- THE FLOOD- Take That (53,600)
7- LIKE A G6- Far East Movement Ft Cataracs & Dev (46,400)
8- FIREWORK- Katy Perry ( 45,300)
10- WHAT’S MY NAME- Rihanna Ft Drake (33,401)

2005

Ouch at only 10k for the #10 single, that's only enough for the top 50 today. Shame because 'Your Body' is a banging tune and deserves to have sold more. 'Hung Up', 'My Humps' and 'Biology' are also major classics and 'Dirty Harry' is very underrated.

1- HUNG UP- Madonna (40,254)
2- YOU RAISE ME UP- Westlife (23,073)
3- MY HUMPS- Black Eyed Peas (19,059)
5- BIOLOGY- Girls Aloud (16,900)*
6- DIRTY HARRY- Gorillaz (14,883)
8- I BET YOU LOOK GOOD ON THE DANCEFLOOR- Arctic Monkeys (11.800)*
10- YOUR BODY- Tom Novy Ft Michael Marshall (10,372)

2000

Some kool dance tunes here especially 'One More Time' which is a lot better than everything else in this top 10. 'Independent Women' is quite good in DC's collection.

1- INDEPENDENT WOMEN PART ONE- Destiny’s Child (109,000)
2- CAN’T FIGHT THE MOONLIGHT- LeAnn Rimes (92,000)
4- WHO LET THE DOGS OUT- Ba-Ha Men (53,000)*
5- OPERATION BLADE (BASS IN THE PLACE- Public Domain (48,000)*
7- ONE MORE TIME- Daft Punk (42,000)*
9- PLEASE DON’T TURN ME ON- Artful Dodger Ft Lilford (32,000)*
10- FEEL THE BEAT- Darude (31,000)*

1995

Oh noo at just the 1k gap between #1/2, poor Coolio was robbed of that extra #1 week. 'Missing' is great too and deserved a higher peak than #3 for the massive chart run it had!

2- GANGSTA’S PARADISE- Coolio Ft LV (97,000)
3- MISSING- Everything But The Girl (78,000)
5- WONDERWALL- Oasis (68,000)*
8- IT’S OH SO QUIET- Bjork (46,000)*

omg if Justin had 10 entries (i.e. a quarter of the chart) that'd be hilarious laugh.gif

it would also mean he ties his current record for most top 40 hits from an album, except he kinda cheated with 'Journals' releasing 10 songs as singles each week

It's pretty impressive that they all made the top 40 I think, I'd have thought the momentum would run into the ground pretty quickly.

And haha, here's No Pressure debuting laugh.gif

Biography
Justin Drew Bieber (/ˈbiːbər/; born March 1, 1994) is a Canadian singer and songwriter. Bieber's current manager, Scooter Braun, first discovered him through his YouTube videos in 2007. Braun, as noted, was impressed with the videos resulting in contacting Bieber's mother, Patricia Mallette, about wanting to work with his musical abilities. Moreover, him having convinced his mother, Braun arranged for Bieber to meet with singer-songwriter, Usher, in Atlanta, Georgia. As a result, Bieber was signed to RBMG, a record label based in Atlanta, then to Island Records -- part of Def Jam Records -- with a recording contract offered by a prominent record executive, L.A. Reid.

He released his debut EP, My World, in November 2009. It has been certified platinum in the United States. He became the first artist to have seven songs from a debut record to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Bieber released his first full-length studio album, My World 2.0, in March 2010. It debuted at or near number one in several countries and was certified platinum in the United States. It was preceded by the single, "Baby", which is also, as of July 2014, the YouTube video with the most dislikes, and the most views on a Vevo platform. He followed up the release of his debut album with his first headlining tour, the My World Tour, the remix album titled, My Worlds Acoustic, and Never Say Never – The Remixes, and the 3D biopic-concert film Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. Bieber released his second studio album, Under the Mistletoe, in November 2011 when it debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Bieber released his third studio album, Believe, in June 2012.

He has received numerous industry awards, including both Artist of the Year Awards at the 2010 American Music Awards, and the 2012 American Music Awards. He has been nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 53rd Grammy Awards. With his growing national and international fan base, they have been dubbed "beliebers" who largely consist of early to mid-adolescent women. He has millions of "followers" on Twitter and other social media accounts. He has been listed three times by Forbes magazine as one of the top ten most powerful celebrities in the world in 2011, 2012, and 2013.

Biography
One Direction (commonly abbreviated as 1D) are an English-Irish pop boy band based in London, composed of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. Previously, Zayn Malik was a member until his departure from the band on 25 March 2015. The group signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Records after forming and finishing third in the seventh series of the British televised singing competition The X Factor in 2010. Propelled to international success by social media, One Direction's four albums, Up All Night (2011), Take Me Home (2012), Midnight Memories (2013) and Four (2014) topped charts in most major markets, and generated hit singles including "What Makes You Beautiful", "Live While We're Young", "Story of My Life" and "Steal My Girl".

Their achievements include five Brit Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, eleven MTV Europe Music Awards, and nineteen Teen Choice Awards out of nineteen nominations, among many others. According to Nick Gatfield, the chairman and chief executive of Sony Music Entertainment UK, One Direction represented a $50 million business empire by June 2012. They were proclaimed 2012's "Top New Artist" by Billboard. According to the Sunday Times Rich List, by April 2013, they had an estimated personal combined wealth of £25 million ($41.2m) making them the second-wealthiest musicians in the UK under 30 years of age. In 2014, Forbes listed them the second-highest earning celebrities under 30, with the group earning an estimated $75 million from June 2013 to June 2014.

After the release of Four, One Direction became the first band in the U.S. Billboard 200 history to have their first four albums debut at number one. Their third album, Midnight Memories, was the biggest-selling album worldwide of 2013 despite being released in late November. In 2014, Billboard named One Direction Artist of the Year

I thought Adele would easily be top 20, that's a shock.

(Of course it'll likely get there eventually anyway)

Biography
Adele Laurie Blue Adkins MBE (/əˈdɛl/; born 5 May 1988) is a British singer and songwriter. Graduating from the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in 2006, Adele was given a recording contract by XL Recordings after a friend posted her demo on Myspace the same year. In 2007, she received the Brit Awards "Critics' Choice" award and won the BBC Sound of 2008. Her debut album, 19, was released in 2008 to commercial and critical success. It is certified four times platinum in the UK, and double platinum in the U.S. An appearance she made on Saturday Night Live in late 2008 boosted her career in the U.S. At the 51st Annual Grammy Awards, Adele received the awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Adele released her second studio album, 21, in early 2011. The album was well received critically and surpassed the success of her debut, earning the singer numerous awards in 2012, including a record-tying six Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year; two Brit Awards, including British Album of the Year, and three American Music Awards. The album has been certified 16 times platinum in the UK, and is the fourth best-selling album in the UK of all time. In the U.S. it has held the top position longer than any album since 1985, and is certified Diamond. The album has sold 30 million copies worldwide.

The success of 21 earned Adele numerous mentions in the Guinness Book of World Records. She is the first woman in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 to have three simultaneous top 10 singles as a lead artist, and the first female artist to simultaneously have two albums in the top five of the Billboard 200 and two singles in the top five of the Billboard Hot 100. 21 is the longest running number one album by a female solo artist in the history of the UK and U.S. Album Charts. In 2011 and 2012, Billboard named Adele Artist of the Year.

In 2012, Adele was listed at number five on VH1's 100 Greatest Women in Music, and Time magazine named her one of the most influential people in the world. In 2013, she received an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, and a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for her song "Skyfall", which she wrote and composed for the James Bond film of the same name. Adele's third studio album, 25, will be released on 20 November 2015.

Biography
Rock City, also known as R. City and Planet VI, is an American musical duo formed in 2003, from Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. The duo, composed of brothers Theron and Timothy Thomas, who use the stage names, A.I. and Uptown AP respectively, are also a songwriting and record production team. The Thomas brothers are perhaps best known for writing and producing hit singles for several prominent artists, including Sean Kingston ("Take You There"), Miley Cyrus ("We Can't Stop"), Nicki Minaj ("Only") and Rihanna ("Pour It Up"), among others.

The duo has also contributed to numerous Grammy-nominated albums including Rihanna's Unapologetic (which won Best Urban Contemporary Album), Jennifer Hudson's self-titled album (which won Best R&B Album), and Ariana Grande's My Everything (which was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album).

Rock City also releases original music, having released several mixtapes since 2008. The group had previously been signed to Geffen Records and KonLive, where they released a series of mixtapes with the primary title, PTFAO (Put the F*ckin' Album Out)—a reference to the fact that their debut album Wake the Neighbors, had not been given a release date. In 2011, the duo was released from their contract with KonLive, and founded Rebelution Records, on which they intended to release their debut album. A new album, What Dreams Are Made Of, is due to be released in 2015, after being signed to Kemosabe Records and RCA Records by Dr. Luke.

Biography
Ariana Grande-Butera (born June 26, 1993), known professionally as Ariana Grande (/ˌɑriːˈɑːnə ˈɡrɑːndeɪ/), is an American singer and actress. She began her career in the Broadway musical 13, before landing the role of Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon television series Victorious in 2009. After four seasons, the show ended, and Grande starred on the spinoff, Sam & Cat, which ended in 2014. She has also appeared in other theatre, television and film roles and lent her voice to animated television and films.

Grande's music career began with the soundtrack Music from Victorious (2011). She signed a recording contract with Republic Records and released her debut studio album, Yours Truly in 2013, which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200. The album's lead single, "The Way", reached the top-ten of the Billboard Hot 100, with critics comparing her wide vocal range to Mariah Carey. Her second studio album, My Everything (2014), also reached number one in the United States. With the singles "Problem", "Break Free", "Bang Bang" and "Love Me Harder" from that album, she spent 34 continuous weeks in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and had the most top 10 singles of any artist in 2014. In 2015, she is promoting My Everything with her first international tour titled The Honeymoon Tour and currently guest-starring in Fox comedy-horror TV series Scream Queens.

Some of Grande's accolades include New Artist of the Year at the 2013 American Music Awards, Music Business Association's Breakthrough Artist of the Year, "Best Pop Video" at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, "Best Song" and "Best Female" at the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards.

37: Shocking fall, I must say. If it continues like this...

31: If this could go away, I'd be pleased.
30: Don't Be So Hard On Yourself still sounds amazing.
29: When We Were Young is good, although a bit lackluster compared to Hello.
28: Locked Away is forgettable.
27: Where Are U Now is awful, please don't climb back to the top 25.
26: Focus is good, but Problem/Break Free/Love Me Harder/One Last Time were a lot better.

Biography
A seasoned performer on the Irish music scene, acoustic singer/songwriter Jamie Lawson eventually found fame when one of his tracks became an overnight YouTube sensation. Born and raised in Plymouth, England, Lawson picked up the guitar at age eight and, influenced by Crowded House, R.E.M., and Leonard Cohen, began his musical career in a covers band while still at school. At 17, he discovered his voice, and spent the next few years performing across the Irish club circuit with the likes of Gemma Hayes, Glen Hansard, and Tom Baxter. He released his debut album, Last Night Stars on his own Allotment Recordings label in 2003, though it wasn't until his second album, seven years later that he would find greater success. The Pull of the Moon was released in 2010, but it took off a year later, when the YouTube video of one of its tracks, "Wasn't Expecting That," was played on Ireland's biggest station, Today FM's Breakfast Show. The song became the station's most requested track, and launched his chart career in his adopted homeland. In 2015, Lawson became the first act signed to Ed Sheeran's Warner Bros. imprint Gingerbread Records. His self-titled third LP arrived later that year. - iTunes

I hope this is the last time I ever hear 'Wasn't Expecting That' in its entirety. His voice goes right through me.

I think it's overtaken Marvin Gaye as my least favourite of the year.

'Company' is alright on first listen, 'The Feeling' is a lot better though so I wish that was doing the best out of his album tracks.

Biography
Coldplay are a British rock band formed in 1996 by lead vocalist Chris Martin and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland at University College London. After they formed under the name Pectoralz, Guy Berryman joined the group as a bassist and they changed their name to Starfish. Will Champion joined as a drummer, backing vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist, completing the line-up. Manager Phil Harvey is often considered an unofficial fifth member. The band renamed themselves "Coldplay" in 1998, before recording and releasing three EPs; Safety in 1998, Brothers & Sisters as a single in 1999 and The Blue Room in the same year. The latter was their first release on a major label, after signing to Parlophone.

They achieved worldwide fame with the release of the single "Yellow" in 2000, followed by their debut album released in the same year, Parachutes, which was nominated for the Mercury Prize. The band's second album, A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002), was released to critical acclaim and won multiple awards, including NME's Album of the Year. They have also come top of the BBC Radio 2 poll of the favourite album of all time. Their next release, X&Y, the best-selling album worldwide in 2005, was met with mostly positive reviews upon its release, though some critics felt that it was inferior to its predecessor. The band's fourth studio album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008), was produced by Brian Eno and released again to largely positive reviews, earning several Grammy nominations and wins at the 51st Grammy Awards. On 24 October 2011, they released their fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto, which received mixed to positive reviews, topped the charts in over 34 countries, and was the UK's best-selling rock album of 2011.

The band have won a number of music awards throughout their career, including eight Brit Awards—winning Best British Group three times—five MTV Video Music Awards and seven Grammy Awards from 25 nominations. Coldplay have sold more than 80 million records worldwide. In December 2009, Rolling Stone readers voted the group the fourth-best artist of the 2000s. Coldplay have been an active supporter of various social and political causes, such as Oxfam's Make Trade Fair campaign and Amnesty International. The group have also performed at various charity projects such as Band Aid 20, Live 8, Sound Relief, Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief, The Secret Policeman's Ball, Sport Relief and the UK's Teenage Cancer Trust.

Lol at the Bieber tracks climbing. If only the OCC could find a way to stop streams from counting to both the singles and albums charts because, as much as I don't mind the whole streaming thing, it's a bit of a crock to say all of Bieber's album tracks are individually among the top songs of the week just because his album is being streamed heavily...

Plenty of potential hits on the album I think. Just needs something to jolt them up (and might have to do something with the streaming availability as it really becomes an uphill battle as is).

Elena Jane "Ellie" Goulding (born 30 December 1986) is an English singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Lyonshall, Herefordshire. Her career began when she met record producer Starsmith and Frankmusik, and she was later spotted by Jamie Lillywhite, who later became her manager and A&R. After signing to Polydor Records in July 2009, Goulding released her debut extended play, An Introduction to Ellie Goulding, later that year.

In 2010, she became the second artist to both top the BBC's annual Sound of... poll and win the Critics' Choice Award at the Brit Awards in the same year. Goulding released her debut studio album, Lights, in 2010. The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and has sold over 850,000 copies in the UK. Halcyon debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart, and, after 65 weeks, reached number one. Halcyon debuted at number nine on the Billboard 200 Chart, her first top ten debut in the United States. Halcyon Days, a repackaged edition of Halcyon, was released on 23 August 2013, it included new singles including "Burn", which became her first UK number-one single in the same month. At the 2014 BRIT Awards she received the award for Best British Female. By the end of 2013, she has sold an estimated 4 million albums and 15 million singles worldwide.

Biography
Shahid Khan (born 13 March 1985), often credited by his artist and production name Naughty Boy, is a British DJ, songwriter, record producer and musician. In 2012, Khan signed a three-year publishing deal with Sony ATV, as well as a recording contract to release one album under Virgin EMI Records. Khan launched himself as a record producer under the moniker "Naughty Boy" and runs his own production company called Naughty Boy Recordings.

Naughty Boy has produced two top-ten records for UK rappers Chipmunk and Wiley, both featuring Emeli Sandé. Naughty Boy and Sandé later formed a writing and production partnership, leading to Sandé landing her own record deal with Virgin and EMI. Sandé went on to be named the Critics Choice for the 2012 BRIT Awards, and release her debut album Our Version of Events (2012), a record co-written/produced with Naughty Boy. Khan spent 2011 and 2012 working on records for Leona Lewis, JLS, Cheryl Cole, Jennifer Hudson, Alesha Dixon and Tinie Tempah, among others.

In 2013, Naughty Boy released his debut album Hotel Cabana. The set features prominent collaborator Sandé, as well as Ed Sheeran, Gabrielle and others. It was preceded by the release of the top-ten single "Wonder" (featuring Sandé), the number one hit "La La La", featuring Sam Smith and "Lifted", another collaboration with Sandé. His debut album peaked at number two in the UK.

On 19 October 2013, Naughty Boy's "La La La" was awarded 'Best Song' and 'Best Video' at the MOBO Award's 18th Anniversary.

Biography
Little Mix (formerly known as Rhythmix) is an English girl group formed in 2011, consisting of members Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson. They were formed exclusively for the eighth series of The X Factor in 2011 and became the first group to win the competition. Following their victory, they signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Music and released a cover of Damien Rice's "Cannonball" as their winner's single.

Little Mix released their debut album DNA on 19 November 2012. It charted in the top 5 in eight countries, including number two in the UK and number four on the US Billboard 200. This made Little Mix the first girl group since The Pussycat Dolls to reach the U.S. top 5 with their debut album, as well as earning the highest debut U.S. chart position by a British girl group, breaking the record previously held by the Spice Girls, whose 1996 debut Spice charted at number five. As of December 2014, Little Mix have sold over 7.5 million records worldwide.

His third studio album Nothing Was the Same was released on September 24, 2013. It was supported by the singles "Started from the Bottom", "Hold On, We're Going Home", "All Me" and "The Language".

Drake has sold over 5 million albums worldwide. His work has earned him a Grammy Award, three Juno Awards, six BET Awards, and set several significant Billboard records. With twelve number-one singles, Drake has more than any other artist on Billboard's Hot Rap Songs chart. With ten number-one singles, he also has more than any other rapper on Billboard‍ 's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, passing Jay-Z in August 2012. He is one of two artists (the other being 50 Cent) that has simultaneously occupied the chart's top three positions.

Drake, along with being a record producer under the pseudonym Champagne Papi, has also written songs for other artists, including Alicia Keys ("Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready)"), Rita Ora ("R.I.P."), Jamie Foxx and Trey Songz.

Biography
With a "cheeky chappy" persona to match Robbie Williams and vocals reminiscent of original Pop Idol Will Young, former call-center worker Olly Murs was one of the success stories of the 2009 season of The X Factor, finishing runner-up to Joe McElderry in the hotly contested final. Born in Essex in 1984, Murs showed little interest in singing while at school, focusing his attention on football, where he played for the school team and later semi-professionally for local non-league team Witham Town. In 2007, he appeared on Deal or No Deal, where he won a lowly £10, but it was his performance of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" on the sixth series of The X Factor that enabled him to show off his talents. Mentored by Simon Cowell in the live stages, he wowed judges with renditions of songs by the Beatles, Queen, and George Michael and soon became the favorite to win the show. However, despite a duet with musical hero Robbie Williams in the final, Murs finished a respectable second. In 2010, he signed a six-figure record deal with Epic/Syco Music and embarked on the sold-out X Factor arena tour. After being personally invited by Williams to play at the televised charity football event Soccer Aid, Murs released his first single, the Jason Mraz-inspired "Please Don't Let Me Go," in August. His debut album, featuring songs written by Eg White, Scouting for Girls' Roy Stride, and Wayne Hector, was released in 2010. The record produced three U.K. Top 20 singles, with "Thinking of Me" and "Heart on My Sleeve" racking up chart positions alongside the debut number one "Please Don't Let Me Go."

Murs took a short break from his musical career in late 2011 to present the eighth season of The Xtra Factor — a spinoff behind-the-scenes look at The X Factor — returning to the program that shot him to fame. His experience with the dynamics involved in the show and his upbeat character made him a firm favorite with the audience — as well as flirty co-presenter Caroline Flack. During the recording of each show, Murs was working on songs for his second album with writers Steve Robson (Lily Allen, James Morrison) and Claude Kelly (Kelly Clarkson, Backstreet Boys). The first single from his second record, "Heart Skips a Beat," featuring U.K. hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks, was released in summer 2011 and swiftly became a hit. The full release, In Case You Didn't Know, followed in November and secured his first U.K. number one album. The following year, Murs opened for sprightly boy band One Direction on their North American tour and re-released the "Heart Skips a Beat" single, replacing Rizzle Kicks with Philadelphia rap duo Chiddy Bang, to coincide with the shows. Also in 2012, Murs released his third studio album, Right Place Right Time, which included the single "Troublemaker," featuring rapper Flo Rida.

Biography
As a member of the successful U.K. boy band the Wanted, singer Nathan Sykes joined the group through the traditional pop music audition process in 2009 alongside fellow members Max George and Tom Parker. The trio was later joined by Jay McGuiness and Siva Kaneswaran. Born in 1993 and raised in Abbeydale, Gloucester, U.K., Sykes displayed his natural musical and performing ability from the age of six and attended the famous Sylvia Young Theatre School at 11. He returned to Gloucester after completing his GCSE exams and continued to perform. He won several singing competitions throughout his teens, the most memorable being "Britney Spears' Karaoke Kriminals" in 2003, in which his prize was a kiss from Spears herself. He also entered the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 in the hope of representing the United Kingdom, but he finished third after Cory Spedding and runner-up Andrew Murray. After he settled into the Wanted after a few years of entering the competition, the band proceeded to develop their sound, and released their self-titled debut album in 2010. Their first single, "All Time Low," reached number one in the U.K. charts. They swiftly released the follow-up album, Battleground, in 2011. In April 2013, it was announced that Sykes would have to undergo emergency throat surgery in Los Angeles, California, and the band decided to go on hiatus while he recovered. The timing proved to be unfortunate, as the recording of their third album and a worldwide tour were about to start. After a lengthy period of recuperation, Sykes returned with his fellow bandmates with an emotionally charged performance at the Capital FM Summertime Ball in June 2013. With his vocal ability back on track, he collaborated with singer Ariana Grande on the duet "Almost Is Never Enough," which was featured on the soundtrack to The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. It was widely praised by his musical peers and marked a triumphant return for the singer after a difficult year. Following the 2014 announcement that the Wanted were breaking up, Sykes signed a recording contract with Global Radio. In early 2015, he released the solo single "More Than You'll Ever Know" and announced that he was working on a debut full-length album with a handful of producers, including Babyface and Diane Warren. His second solo single, "Kiss Me Quick," followed in June 2015. - iTunes

Surely zero, if I remember correctly at least 60-70% of the album must be streamed to count towards the album chart. 1 song is not enough.

But I must check back the OCC report of that when streaming were added to the album charts.

But in any case as the two most-streamed songs from an album are downweighted to the average of the others, that would put 'Hello's album streams down to zero, wouldn't it?

She's also sold a record-smashing 252k on digital alone - IIRC the previous record for that was only something around 80-90k??

Wow, that's really remarkable that she's so dominant on digital when you consider how much the release of '25' and her appeal in general lends itself to CD sales. I know a few people who've made a point of wanting a physical copy of this album, and they're young/not normally CD buyers!

Posted by: Luciano 27th November 2015, 05:35 PM

Such a stellar performance for ADELE, and quite deserving for all the talent. I'm glad it's her who's smashing all these records rather than, let's say, Taylor Swift.

Quite impressive feats at the top of both charts this week, Must've been ages since an artist has had both of the top 2 officially? (I see it has been)

Must admit I prefer I'll Show You to this one. I can see the Ed Sheeran influence, not particularly a good thing sad.gif

Biography
Carrie Marie Underwood (born March 10, 1983) is an American singer, songwriter and actress. She rose to fame as the winner of the fourth season of American Idol in 2005. Underwood has set and broken several records throughout her career. Her achievements led her to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2008 and into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2009. She has won numerous music awards, including seven Grammy Awards, seventeen Billboard Music Awards, eleven Academy of Country Music Awards, and eight American Music Awards.

Her debut album, Some Hearts, was released in 2005. Bolstered by the huge crossover success of the singles "Jesus, Take the Wheel" and "Before He Cheats", it went on to become the fastest selling debut country album in Nielsen SoundScan history, the best-selling solo female debut album in country music history and the best-selling country album of the last ten years. Underwood won three Grammy Awards for the album, including Best New Artist. Released in 2007, her second album, Carnival Ride, had one of the biggest ever opening weeks by a female artist and earned Underwood two Grammy Awards. Her next album, 2009's Play On, was a commercial success led by the single "Cowboy Casanova". Underwood's fourth album, Blown Away (2012), earned her a Grammy Award and was that year's second best-selling release by a female artist. In 2014, she released her first compilation album, winning a Grammy Award for its crossover single "Something in the Water". Underwood has sold more than 65 million records globally, and is the Top Country Artist of all time on the RIAA's Digital Singles ranking and the biggest American Idol earner of all time. Her fifth album, Storyteller, was released on October 23, 2015.

Recognized by Rolling Stone as the female vocalist of her generation in any genre and by Billboard as Country Music's reigning Queen, Underwood is the only solo country artist in the 2000s to have a number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and the first and only country artist to ever debut at number one on the Hot 100, as "Inside Your Heaven" topped the chart in 2005. She is also the female artist with the most No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, from 1991 to present, having 14 number one's and breaking her own Guinness Book record of ten. Some Hearts was named the No. 1 country album of the 2000s by Billboard and she was the top-ranked female artist on Billboard's Best Country Artists of the 2000s list. Time listed Underwood as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2014.
