I posted one of these threads before but now the Bang EP has seemingly come and gone already... where does Rita go next?
I think she's in a difficult position right now, for sure. Public perception of her has never been lower and she's now had How to Be Lonely and whatever was being pushed from Bang achieve little playlist support and therefore flop. Even an undeniable Anywhere-esque banger wouldn't be a guaranteed hit for her now, so how can she turn things around? I think a couple of collabs could be a good idea. One of the current big name DJs would be good I think - Joel Corry, Nathan Dawe, Sigala, etc. Or perhaps a garage-esque track with AJ Tracey? |

I think she is totally over now.
With Spotify and now Radio 1 no longer willing to offer support, her being persona non-grata in terms of public perception due to the birthday party and flying to Egypt incidents... what can she do? What can anyone in her team do? I can't even see a chart-relevant dance act risking a collab with her in case it damages their reputation either. |

She really would have to pull out something special to get another hit in my opinion. I had high hopes for the Bang Ep tracks but it's clear that she has lost all public support and Spotify seem to have given up on her also.
Rita's usual style of music is so dead in the charts right now and the only way pop artists seem to get a hit nowadays is on a dance or garage style track. So maybe that's her only hope now. |

a great new collaboration could save her, problem I doubt anyone is willing to collaborate with her,
for instance it could really damage the career of Joel Corry for example if he featured her |

i think the whole "she broke lockdown rules" thing is being a bit blown out of proportion in relation to how "damaged" her career is.
I think she'll do a few TV gigs, maybe jump on a few DJ collabs, I can def see her doing a Joel Corry one, I don't think it would damage their career if they collaborated with her, cause I really feel like no one cares about that anymore. Although I will say I think Frenchie hit the nail on the head with "Rita's usual style of music is so dead in the charts right now and the only way pop artists seem to get a hit nowadays is on a dance or garage style track. So maybe that's her only hope now." Because that's so true, Rita's type of music is very dated, even Anywhere lags a bit now (Excellent at the time and will probably have a resurge of fan support at some point) but for now her 2017-2018 sound is dead. She needs to redo her sound and image, she's definitely not over. |

Well she certainly hasn’t done herself any favours with regards to her career and the publicity over offering the restaurant £5k to host the birthday bash shows it was intentional which significantly undermines her reputation in the music industry. These kinds of things can have a more damaging impact that one realises and not just from a fan perspective but on a wider level when organisations stop supporting an artist! |

She's got another three years until Album #3 is due anyway... so she has plenty of time to recover from this
But in all honesty, she is probably a bit done now. It's 2 1/2 years since she had a solo Top 40 and even the colabs missed the Top 20. Her TV career isn't doing much, R1 have moved on... I've always really liked her, so I hope she can claw it back though. Joel Corry ft Rita Ora... Yeah, can see it now, to be fair. |

I'd really like to see her on another big dance collab tbh, she is in a tricky position though so I dunno if she will pull it off but I wish her success.

She has tons of unreleased collabs, it is not that hard to release one of them while recording the album in the US. The current hit Friday was from Bang sessions...
