Hello and welcome to the 8th round of this third Chart Forum Quiz season.

After some excellent fresh new quizzes in recent weeks it's time for a longstanding traditional one, a round of Never Mind the BuzzJacks! 27 clips for you to guess which song they belong to, with 1/2 a point for each correct artist or title. Please send me your answers via PM, always remember it's worth a guess.

The songs are a different combination of eras, genres and difficulty. Each clip is between about 12 & 30 seconds long, and are mainly instrumental, certainly nothing included that I'd class as a lyric, and most (but not quite all) are intros. There are no songs repeated from the previous NMTBJ rounds in chart quiz seasons or rounds I hosted in the Lounge many years ago.

Bonus Questions
1) 25 of the 27 songs are linked/connected in some way - what is that connection? (3 pts)
2) Which are the two songs that are not part of that connection? (2)
3) Which song will be the most correctly guessed? (1)
4) Which song will be the least correctly guessed? (1)
5) How many of the 27 songs entered the UK chart at their peak position? (1)

For Qs 2-4 the act/title do not have to be named, I'll give a point for the Question (e.g. song 1)



There are comments on the soundcloud to indicate where each new song starts. Ignore the first 7 seconds of quiet static I included to hopefully boost chances of it not being taken down for copyright infringement.

10 on first lsiten which isn't bad for me. SO many songs that sound so familiar in here but I can't put my finger on, more than usual I feel.

I've got a few more of these now but I'm completely stumped with the connection - it must be one of those where you have to think outside the box, and I'm rubbish at those

I'd better get thinking outside of the box then...

Also, there's at least one song I recognise that didn't chart, or it might have charted outside the top 100 - so I'm guessing they would be counted as not having entered the UK chart at their peak position? Sorry if that's a silly question

Yes that's correct. If a song didn't chart then can't be counted towards the total of Q5

Answers submitted! I think I've done pretty well with the songs (there's a couple I wasn't sure of) and I've had a stab at the connection although I don't think it's right

From the answers I've received so far it turns out that there are multiple (or less specific) answers to this than the one I was thinking of so, like in Only Connect, I will award points to anything that fits as a genuine connection between 25 of them!

Brilliant quiz! Currently working the bonus questions out.

I felt lucky with the songs as a few I absolutely adore. Took me a while to click on what a few were as the instrumentals were all so familiar it was just trying to work out the song and where I’d heard it

The link between songs is what is stumping me however. I bet it’s really obvious but I just can’t at all work that out!

I've extended the deadline until 16:00 tomorrow. I won't do any further preparation until I've finished work tomorrow so happy to accept any entries until then, reveals/results will all be tomorrow evening, from about 19:30.

I've just sent a few reminders to those who are highest in the leaderboard who've not entered.

Answers snuck in - there are at least 3 there that seem really obvious but that I couldn't get after replaying the clip a few times. One of the three I can even picture the vocals in my head but annoyingly don't know what the actual words are so I can't Google it.
