So Dua's collab with K-Pop girl group "Kiss and Make Up" has only been out for a week and has charted at #36 in the UK Chart this week.
Dua posted the artwork above with the following comment on her Instagram last night, hinting that it may be the album's 9th (and final) single:
"12 MILLION STREAMS ON @SPOTIFY AND 19 MILLION ON YOUTUBE! I love that you love! So fun working with the wonderful @blackpinkofficial girls! Thank you for all the support! We love you❤️"
Topsify's mailer (Topsify = Warner Music Group) referred to this as a "new single"!
It's brilliant, would love to see it being pushed as a single. Great to see that it's entered the UK Top 40 already!
Really hoping this is indeed the next single. I can't get enough right now and I think in time it could actually become my favourite Dua song
I really don’t get the fuss with this at all. It’s awful.
BLACKPINK coming for their first hit
Loooove this atm. I really hope that if it is a single, then we get a video for it coz just IMAGINE that *.*
I think the song itself is fine, I just really hate the sound of it and wish it was less generic/more inventive. It sounds like a million other modern day Spotify-tailored tracks.
And Adele just played it on Radio 1 *.* I definitely think this is going to get a light push, even if there is no video made.
Yeah, it's kind of the opposite of what I expect to do well at the moment, it's the kind of old-fashion 2012 trashy gay bop that isn't "cool" enough for today's market, which is very much what K-Pop/BLACKPINK sounds like a lot of the time. So I'm glad it's showing signs of doing well after all, I guess it's because it's standing out for being a bit different. Some tailored for Spotify songs are still good though, Rita's latest single is the epitome of the kind of song made to do well on streaming and it's still one of her best for me!
From Dua's Twitter:
"I saw something tonight that made me very VERY excited for the last treat that I have for you all before this year is out!!! ⚔️🌃💕⚔️🌃💕"
Music video confirmed?!
It's not on the par of 'New Rules', 'IDGAF' or 'Hotter Than Hell'. But it's all right.
Overrated.
it’s excellent i’d day and i’m no huge dua fan; it’s the first seemless amalgamation of pop and k-pop i’ve heard and it’s really interesting that it’s dua doing it
makes me excited for the future her taking these risks and doing something different
i would agree it’s v ‘spotify’ but it’s FAR more interesting/has a notion of personality unlike that ellie song of that ilk
I heard this out on the weekend and it went OFF.
So she talked about releasing a video for this, any news in that department?
