HH keeps shuffling, now it's track #1 Dance Monkey, track #2 Post Malone, track #3 Ride it
and they have moved the Ari-Mi-Lana track down instead of up :/ |

The pickings would need to be 1 atom thick for Tones And I to be a preferable option. If they're really hell bent on snubbing it then they will do anyway. I hope that is the case but it's most likely just them being slow like they have been with a lot of songs recently (as people seem to forget every time one of their faves isn't playlisted immediately), don't credit it to them 'being forced to' like they have some legal obligation to playlist top 10 hits lol ~ They don't miss many hits these days Radio 1! |

Circles is back up to #4, Dance Monkey is now #8, Don't Call Me Angel falls out of the top ten to #11, Ride It reaches a new peak at #16, and so does Wiley Flow at #26.

really don't get the so-far-disappointing performance for the Ari-Miley-Lana song... is it cos we've reached Ariana saturation??? the song is not the bestest but it's decent enough and sure better than Boyfriend...

I love Lana and even I can admit that "Don't Call Me Angel" is awfully disappointing. So bland. |

Funny how artists with big fanbases perform opposite to normal hits in this era - peak high and fall (relatively) quickly!

I think this is exactly it its suffering due to ariana oversaturation if it is "oversaturation" then why hasn't Ed suffered? It's just not getting the instant radio support her non-soundtrack hits got. Capital are still hammering Boyfriend but have barely played this for example. I assume it's coz it's a soundtrack single so most radios aren't as willing to jump straight onto it. And it's probs down to Lana being on it which is probably why Capital haven't given it full attention. I guarantee you, if they get a hold of the mix without Lana on it that US stations are playing, they'll opt for that one. Ugh. Edit: Have Capital ever played a Lana song? |

if it is "oversaturation" then why hasn't Ed suffered? Ariana had 2 full albums and had already moved on to more new material in the gap between Ed's last 2 projects to be fair - obviously Ed's songs have generally stuck around for ages so it doesn't feel like it but in terms of frequency of new releases Ariana is much more oversaturated than Ed. (and that's accepting the premise that Ed didn't suffer from oversaturation, remember 'Cross Me' was a relative underperformance for him and there were other songs from 'No.6 Collaborations Project' that didn't take off at all perhaps because he pushed too many songs with music videos etc. all at once) |

Maybe Arianas songs just aren't impacting with the public?

Edit: Have Capital ever played a Lana song? Yes but not by choice. Back when they counted down the live iTunes Top 10 I remember them having to play a couple of her songs, most notably Brooklyn Baby They didn't play the whole thing though This post has been edited by John-James: 21st September 2019, 10:34 AM |

Regarding oversaturation: Ed's "London" track wouldn't be #1 without several versions though.. he's just taking advantage of the system
Like Lil Nas X and other rappers who have learnt to release short songs so verses can be added later on. This post has been edited by SKOB: 21st September 2019, 10:46 AM |
