The UK actually appearing in most of these is a pretty good sign right? (Or have we done surprisingly well in these and still ended up flopping before? I know there have occasionally been songs that do really well in this but then not in the actual contest)

The UK does not normally do well in OGAE. Though Blue came 3rd. Actually getting points is a decent indicator that 'SPACE MAN' will do well.
The winner almost always ends in the real top 10 too. |

Appearing in a couple of top 3's plus another top 5 feels like a really encouraging sign, with it not just being a trickle of 1 and 2 points from everyone.
I feel like Molly probably got a decent OGAE result before flopping but Sam is surely a much more reliable performer. |

Not been done since Ireland in the 90's. Italy certainly have enough cities that would be interested in putting it on but whether the broadcaster would want the expense, I'm not sure
