Judging by that Top 3, probably best to ignore the Chart thread this week.

Glad Katy getting a repeal and a second wind but it feels like it would have done better if pushed earlier

Judging by that Top 3, probably best to ignore the Chart thread this week. I think we get the memo, does it need spouted in every thread? It's verging on misogynistic now. Yas @ QOTSA. Amazing figures. '...Like Clockwork' opened on 37.5k, so it looks like they'll at least match that. This post has been edited by Defaze: 29th August 2017, 03:13 PM |

Umm what? I was observing the genre of the songs and not particularly the gender of the artists. Talk about jumping the gun... Odd that the vast majority of artists you take exception to are female. Regardless, I'm sure everyone has genres they don't appreciate; I very rarely see anyone express their disdain as often and needlessly as you. |

Umm what? I was observing the genre of the songs and not particularly the gender of the artists. Talk about jumping the gun... If I refused to listen to the chart because of the genre of the top 3 singles being repulsive then really I probably shouldn't have listened since about 2007. In recent weeks, it does seem that your posts here have been baiting Dua/Taylor/Pink fans. Considering you seem to like most big songs these days, is it too much to ask for you not to post something derogatory about their songs every single day? Most of us have gone weeks of putting up with what we deem as crap in the top 3. Even now, I only like Pink's song but you don't see me going out of my way to disparage Dua/Taylor. |

Odd that the vast majority of artists you take exception to are female. Regardless, I'm sure everyone has genres they don't appreciate; I very rarely see anyone express their disdain as often and needlessly as you. That's because those are generally the songs and artists I feel are overrated and have no problem saying so. However, I have no gender problem and am sure a quick search of my posts would reveal plenty of female artists and songs I like and support - if you wanted to go down that route. If I refused to listen to the chart because of the genre of the top 3 singles being repulsive then really I probably shouldn't have listened since about 2007. In recent weeks, it does seem that your posts here have been baiting Dua/Taylor/Pink fans. I respect your argument, and agree with a lot of what you say. However, does my posts really affect people that much? I wouldn't have thought so. I remember the Lil Uzi Vert song that is in the charts atm being disparaged upon every mention without anybody being called out for it... and that's just one example. |

I wouldnt call myself a fan of Taylor Swift. Every now and then she releases a song i enjoy. That said, she is a big name artist and its fitting in some ways she finally adds a UK number 1 single to her discography.
I welcome the chart run by Pink to date, and now heading for a Top 3 position is a great outcome for her. Shane Filan back in the top 5, i did not know he had an album out. It looks likely to improve on the chart position of his previous album. |

Great to see P!nk #3 and looking likely to hold. Happy about Katy looking to repeak as well.

This is likely a dumb question already asked, but when did we last have an all female top 3?

Great to see War on Drugs currently at #2 in the midweeks. I imagine that it will have one of the highest first-week sales for vinyl this year - I believe a great chunk of "Lost in the Dream" was sold in that format.
And rather surprised that QOTSA are looking so good, but good for them. |

I think it's chart date 18th October 2014 an all-female top 4, in fact, with an all-female top 3 the week before! 01 01 06 Meghan Trainor - All About That Bass 02 02 03 Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj - Bang Bang 03 NE 01 Nicki Minaj - Anaconda 04 03 08 Taylor Swift - Shake It Off |
