It was 30 years ago this month that Madonna's first world tour came to an end. Madonna was determined to make the tour bigger and better than her US-only Virgin Tour, incorporating multimedia elements, various costume changes and strenuous choreography. The hard work and dedication paid off. Madonna's infectious energy never faltered; she kept her audience captivated as she mastered the routines time and time again and belted out the songs with every inch of passion in her body. The tour was a resounding critical and commercial success, propelling Madonna to further heights and strengthening her position as the biggest female star of the 80s. Ahead of the release of the Rebel Heart Tour DVD tomorrow, lets show some appreciation for the tour that set the standard. |
