BuzzJack Music Forum _ Pop _ Paloma Faith - Infinite Things

Posted by: Juan Carlos Aug 31 2020, 07:46 PM

To be released next month.

From https://www.theguardian.com/music/2020/aug/31/paloma-faith-i-did-a-whole-tour-with-postnatal-depression-i-was-devastated:

QUOTE
We speak over Zoom, Faith lying on a bed at home in London. Infinite Things is her fifth album; her first was released in 2009, and all have been hugely successful. There have also been big singles, such as "Only Love Can Hurt Like This" and "Picking Up the Pieces". Her latest album is also her most personal, perhaps as a result of this year’s forced intimacy.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn Sep 30 2020, 10:59 AM

I'll be seeing her at the Palladium in just over a year, VIP package and all!

The album cover is a HUGE step down compared to all her previous ones.

Posted by: jlj Sep 30 2020, 11:10 AM

Quite like the artwork. A bit like Cheryls debut albums cover actually that’s what it reminds me of (well the image)

Her name in that huge font lets it down would’ve looked better textless or with the text a lot smaller.

Posted by: Andrew. Sep 30 2020, 11:12 AM

Her artwork looks so cheap this era sad.gif

I'd love to see her again but the Scottish dates aren't great for me. I'm glad she's doing auditoriums tbh, her show is more suited to them than arenas.

Posted by: slowdown73 Oct 2 2020, 09:02 AM

Not the best cover but I’ve preordered the album as love her music. There are two versions of the album on Amazon. One is a signed copy. Apart from this, does anybody know the difference?

Posted by: .MIKE. Oct 16 2020, 06:44 AM

‘Falling Down’ out today... it’s amazing. Shaping up to be another brilliant album from Paloma!

Posted by: Spiceboy Oct 16 2020, 06:47 AM

Gosh she always has such incredible artwork... this is such a let down!

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Oct 16 2020, 09:57 AM

Ya the artwork is disappointing this time around.

Posted by: jlj Oct 16 2020, 11:23 AM

Falling Down is so good! I prefer it to Better Than This tbh.

Posted by: slowdown73 Oct 16 2020, 09:14 PM

I like falling down but better than this is my favourite.

Posted by: Juan Carlos Oct 22 2020, 02:35 AM

"Last Night On Earth" will be out this Friday.

Posted by: .MIKE. Oct 23 2020, 05:48 AM

Oh Paloma! You are SERVING us this era! ‘Last Night on Earth’ is beautiful! wub.gif

Posted by: dannjohn Oct 23 2020, 03:17 PM

Finally a good song this era!

Posted by: jlj Oct 27 2020, 02:54 PM

Is there just the one edition for this album? Wanting to pre order and can’t see a deluxe version but don’t want to get it incase there ends up being one laugh.gif

Posted by: Simon. Oct 29 2020, 08:38 AM

Nothings beating Better Than This so far, not keen on Gold on first listen. The dancing on the video is a little annoying too.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn Oct 29 2020, 09:36 AM

I didn't like 'Falling Down', 'Last Night on Earth' is great (I like that she's using a different vocal technique) and I am liking this a lot! Definitely feels a lot more commercial though.

Posted by: M4NGO Oct 29 2020, 10:55 AM

Unsurprisingly strange video for 'Gold' unsure.gif I think I would have gone for 'Last Night On Earth' as the second single rather than 'Gold'.

For me it's BTT > LNOE > Gold > FD. Shaping up to be another decent album so far though!

Posted by: Chemistry Oct 29 2020, 10:56 AM

This definitely seems like her most commercial song in ages, could see Radio 2 (and in a few months) Heart FM eating this up. Good song to release now, just before the album. And did I spot Nick Grimshaw's partner in the video as one of the dancers?

Posted by: Voodoo Oct 30 2020, 10:27 PM

'Gold' is anthemic & BIG-sounding. Me likes! thumbup.gif

Posted by: slowdown73 Oct 30 2020, 11:34 PM

There doesn’t appear to be a deluxe edition, just a 13 track standard but her last few albums have all been reissued after a year!

Posted by: WinterFreeze Oct 31 2020, 12:20 AM

The songs released so far just aren’t clicking with me, I mean they’re good but not great.

Hopefully there’s better left on the album.

Oh yeah! That’s a good point there. To be safe I think I’ll wait until release week to get a copy.

Just The Weeknd literally done a deluxe a matter of days after I bought his album and I thought you are joking me laugh.gif laugh.gif!

Two weeks now until this is out I’m excited for a whole new album from her.

Posted by: Hallo'Riheen Nov 1 2020, 04:11 PM

It’s a shame there’s nae much hype for this record, but she’s been such a force with her albums for so long. All the sobns from ‘Infinite Things’ have been strong but it’s not looking like her most cohesive album, which doesn’t bother me that much but I need an album of Better Than This esque depressing numbers.

Btw I’ve just realised Final Breath from the Zeitgeist edition of The Architect is an absolute banger. Add it to this album and she’ll beat AC/DC.

Posted by: slowdown73 Nov 1 2020, 06:30 PM

I have a feeling Paloma will struggle with this album. The impact of lockdown and not having a T40 hit from the album so far will impact on sales. I like all the songs though.

Posted by: jlj Nov 1 2020, 08:13 PM

Paloma is definitely someone who would’ve picked up a lot of her sales through casual buyers getting their copies in store. As streaming goes she’s someone who struggles. I hope she can do well through online sales and downloads and pre orders but I just don’t know. I don’t know what promo she’ll be doing either as she’s high risk and pregnant. Hopefully she’ll be able to do things from her home. But yeah I’m thinking this might not have the longevity she’s normally used to although I do think she should get another top 5 album.

Posted by: jlj Nov 1 2020, 08:36 PM

Speaking of promo, Paloma is actually performing on tonight’s Pride Of Britain awards!

Posted by: The Architect Nov 2 2020, 04:33 AM

So two days later and Gold had just clicked with me, really enjoying it.

Last Night on Earth is great too.

Posted by: Voodoo Nov 5 2020, 11:48 PM

Better Than This, Falling Down & Gold are all TOP-NOTCH quality tunes and, dare I say, some of her best songs ever. blink.gif

By the way, did we know that Gold was co-written by Sigrid?

Posted by: Andrew. Nov 6 2020, 08:34 PM

This remix slaps!

This to be honest - And they’re three very different songs. Gold is a a feel good banger that I’m sure many people need to hear right now! Falling Down is great and Better Than This is truly special IMO. Excited for the album as she always delivers. I’ve pre-ordered my copy!

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn Nov 9 2020, 11:54 PM

It feels like there's no hype surrounding this album at all.

Posted by: pippa Nov 9 2020, 11:57 PM

It is worryingly low key up to now.

Posted by: jlj Nov 10 2020, 12:06 AM

I also feel the same with this album as much as I’m looking forward to it I’ve hardly even seen posts of it on here never kind other places!

I mean it’s possible that there is hype and it’s just across different places she does sell albums very well. I’ve pre ordered a copy now to help out her first week.

Posted by: Bjork Nov 10 2020, 06:54 AM

has she big promo coming up at least? is she doing Graham Norton? she was guest many times in the past

Posted by: Liam.k. Nov 10 2020, 07:20 AM

She’s not on Graham Norton (for this month at least) but she is on Jonathan Ross on the 14th.

I agree that this era has been unusually low key for Paloma. I’ve not been a fan of anything released so far and there doesn’t appear to be any direction, which is a shame after such a focused release with The Architect.

I imagine the album will pass Silver with no trouble and maybe make it to Gold, but no way can I see this getting anywhere near Platinum like her other albums did quite easily.

Yeah, I'm in a similar boat to you. I actually like all the songs, but there's not much cohesion or meaning to them unlike the last album, maybe when we hear the full thing it'll make sense. I'm honestly getting cobbled together teas.

People are underestimating how she'll do though, I've seen loads of <15k predictions. It's Q4 and she is an album seller, it's been very consistent on Amazon (currently at #24). With pure sales so low Gold would be a success tbh

really impressed with this album!! She's got me fully back on board after The Architect lowkey underwhelmed me

The first 5 tracks are the highlights here. The chorus of Monster is SO good & addictive, I love it. Gold & Falling Down we're the best pre-release tracks & Supernatural is a great opener heart.gif a couple of the later tracks blend into one but there's no major duds

Posted by: slowdown73 Nov 13 2020, 09:58 AM

Looking forward to hearing this later!!

Posted by: dannjohn Nov 13 2020, 10:19 AM

i didn't even realise this was out today! Thought it was end of the month!

Posted by: Andrew. Nov 13 2020, 01:32 PM

Holy f*** Monster might be her best song spongebob.png

Posted by: dannjohn Nov 13 2020, 03:08 PM

'monster' is so good.

Posted by: The Smiler Nov 13 2020, 04:23 PM

Listening now! 'If This Is Goodbye' is beautiful, a real career highlight wub.gif

EDIT: 'If Loving You Was Easy' is also superb! She does fantastic ballads!

Posted by: Parallel Reality Nov 13 2020, 06:27 PM

Can’t wait to listen to this later!

Posted by: Bjork Nov 13 2020, 06:33 PM

so Gold is a Sigrid song written with Steve Mac? how did it end in Paloma's album?

Posted by: Mr. C. Joel Nov 13 2020, 06:55 PM

Ouch this is doing so badly on Apple Music at 29, I know she’s more of a physical seller but that seems very low when McFly are at 14.

Posted by: Andrew. Nov 13 2020, 07:00 PM

Is she doing any promo for this? sad.gif

Brilliant album, better than The Architect which perhaps had higher highs but more filler. Monster (!!), Supernatural, Me Time and If Loving You Was Easy are gorgeous, the latter especially is a ballad and a half and lyrically superb wub.gif Not as keen on Beautiful & Damned and I'd Die For You, they're a little Paloma-by-numbers but she's given us a gem. I was gonna ask for the white vinyl for Christmas but if I can afford to imma get it this week.

Posted by: jlj Nov 13 2020, 07:20 PM

I thought this might’ve been top 15 on Apple Music tbh.

I don’t know why I just feel nervous about this album but I do hope that she sells enough physicals to do well because she’s not gonna add anything more than a few hundred sales off streaming is she?

Posted by: dannjohn Nov 13 2020, 10:00 PM

The only promo it has it outside a cinema in leicester square... during a lockdown laugh.gif

Posted by: RobBot Nov 13 2020, 10:10 PM

I can't believe how good this is? I've never actually heard a Paloma album even though I like her sometimes, but I checked this out after seeing a bit of hype and I was SO impressed. Monster is FANASTIC.

Posted by: JSG Nov 13 2020, 10:31 PM

Oh gosh this album is great. Supernatural is absolutely fantastic. Gold as well, oh my god, dare I say that it's her best single to date for me. Paloma ❤️❤️❤️

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn Nov 14 2020, 02:00 AM

I was under the impression she ditched the album she was working on during lockdown and started again, opting for something more sombre - but a lot of this seems quite upbeat!

Did she put the wrong album out by mistake? laugh.gif

Posted by: T Boy Nov 14 2020, 12:10 PM

I was too tired to listen last night but I’ve been playing it all morning and this is such a good album! Much more upbeat than I thought it would be.

Posted by: slowdown73 Nov 14 2020, 04:16 PM

The album is better than I expected. Listened up to track 9 and only one track which wasn’t great.

Posted by: Parallel Reality Nov 15 2020, 12:37 AM

She did a great performance of ‘Gold’ on Jonathan Ross this week! Hopefully that will push a few more sales.

Posted by: Gagamonster14 Nov 15 2020, 01:01 AM

Her outfit really distracted from the performance I couldn’t take my eyes off what she was wearing

Posted by: Andrew. Nov 15 2020, 01:51 AM

The money I paid for the HRVY vinyl has obviously been refunded so I decided to use that to buy this instead! The front is meh and there’s images which could better represent the era but I can turn it around as the back cover is gorgeous wub.gif

Posted by: jlj Nov 17 2020, 11:35 AM

I’m still waiting for my copy of this to arrive. Anyone else waiting for their copy?

I preordered from HMV like a week before release and they’re usually so good for getting orders sent out so you receive them on release day

YES! She needs to push that one for sure. funky.gif

Posted by: The Architect Nov 17 2020, 09:39 PM

I’ve listened to this three times now and it’s really starting to click with me.

Monsters and Me Time two of my favourites along with Gold.

Posted by: Parallel Reality Nov 17 2020, 09:54 PM

I've given this album a spin a couple of times and it sounds good! Mind you I've liked all her albums she's put out. 'Falling Down' remains my favourite and possibly one of my favourite tracks she's ever made, there's just something so catchy, yet a bit eerie about it. Both the instrumental and her vocals sound great on it.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Nov 17 2020, 11:12 PM

Gold is by far my fave so far.

Posted by: Simon. Nov 18 2020, 09:43 AM

On my fourth listen, taking longer and longer for albums to grow on me as I'm getting older. So far this one feels the weakest of her 4, sounds a lot of the time she's just making the words up as she goes along. Mad to think she's actually got to her 5th album, who else has done this over the past decade other than maybe Marina & Jessie Ware who are catching up.

Posted by: Liam.k. Nov 18 2020, 04:13 PM

I agree with most comments here - this album is so much better than the pre-album releases suggested. 'Supernatural', 'Monster' and 'If This Is Goodbye' should all be singles; 'Better Than This' sounds better within the album but I don't know why it was lead single when those three songs existed.

Posted by: JulianNial Nov 18 2020, 04:58 PM

'Gold' has grown massively on me the past couple of days, it's moved close to the top of my personal "Hot Hits" playlist which I spin often!

Posted by: jlj Nov 18 2020, 06:32 PM

Julian!!!!!

I totally misread that laugh.gif and thought that she’d been moved up to the actual Hot Hits playlist. Legit thought Paloma got Payola and was coming for her streaming era smash. Finally got my copy of the album today as well! happy.gif now it’s come I’m gonna give it a full listen tonight for some reason I haven’t heard it yet because I love hearing it as I hold it (strange I know). She’s still at #3 today in the midweeks too but with her selling ~800 copies yesterday and some albums below her in the midweeks outselling her yesterday we may not get a top 3 album by Friday.

But at worst she’ll end up with another top 10 album.

Posted by: Liam.k. Nov 18 2020, 06:42 PM

I'm hoping the low sales are a reflection of the poor marketing and things can pick up as people become aware the album's even out. Total sales will still be a big drop from her previous album, especially with no touring for the foreseeable, but it would be a shame if this album couldn't even reach a Gold certification.

Posted by: jlj Nov 18 2020, 07:48 PM

I hope it has a strong chart run I had a look at her Official Charts profile page today and seen that her past albums have had such good longevity.

In terms of the top 100 she’s spent

122 weeks with Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful
75 weeks with Fall To Grace
85 weeks with A Perfect Contradiction
53 weeks with The Architect

Posted by: jlj Nov 19 2020, 01:47 AM

This is such a good album! Love how uptempo it is.

Strange single choices now I mean she’s not gonna have a huge single in the streaming era with anything but Monster was right there!!!

A great album and a real difference in sound for her too wub.gif

Posted by: Liam.k. Nov 19 2020, 11:07 AM

'If This Is Goodbye' gives me 'Only Love Can Hurt Like This' energy.

Posted by: jlj Nov 19 2020, 03:39 PM

This is now #2 on UK iTunes highest it’s been all week!

Hoping she keeps top 3 placing on tomorrow’s chart

Posted by: *Callum Nov 19 2020, 11:38 PM

This is such a brilliant album - instantly my favorite from her (so naturally will be her least commercially successful). Monster is an absolute banger and I think is her best song!

Monster, Supernatural, Gold, Falling Down, Infinite Things, If This Is Goodbye, Better Than This, Me Time and Living With a Stranger are all brilliant pop songs. Also, does anyone else think that Me Time sounds like a Sia-penned track?

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Nov 20 2020, 03:56 PM

The album has missed the top 100 here in Ireland which i am totally shocked about, i cant help but feel there is some mistake somewhere.

Posted by: jlj Nov 20 2020, 04:56 PM

That’s quite a drop in Ireland she usually makes top 40 there doesn’t she?

She’s #4 in the UK. No word on sales yet. Andrea overtook her on the last day it seems he’s #3 with McFly #2 and AC/DC #1.

Where will she be next week are we thinking?

Posted by: Simon. Nov 20 2020, 05:05 PM

I don’t think 4 is too bad considering she’s 11 years in now and on the 5th album, just needs some good promo spots.

Posted by: T Boy Nov 20 2020, 05:49 PM

I think 4 is great just based on how low key the whole thing has been.

Posted by: slowdown73 Nov 20 2020, 06:13 PM

Her opening weeks sales are down considerably compared to the Architect. I think that sold about 40k but this has sold under half of that this week. It’s a good album though!

Posted by: jlj Nov 20 2020, 06:24 PM

This sold 15,916 copies. Her lowest opening week.

But the lockdown and closure of non essential shops definitely affected her. I think Paloma has a really big audience it’s just that they’re more casual fans. She doesn’t have a huge stan fanbase who’d buy multi formats the way Little Mix and Kylie did last week. Her strength however is longevity. Her past albums have all had brilliant chart runs. Hoping this doesn’t drop too quickly and it sells decently over Christmas.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Nov 20 2020, 08:27 PM

Hopefully it can sell steady but i have a feeling it might fall fast enough, all her albums have gone top 40 here in Ireland with the last 3 going top 20 and 2 of them Top 10 so im a bit miffed at this not even going top 100.

Posted by: dannjohn Nov 23 2020, 09:25 AM

idk I feel like Paloma is a Tescos shoppers music...

Posted by: dannjohn Nov 23 2020, 09:26 AM

I think the severe lack of promo was the issue...

Posted by: Bjork Nov 23 2020, 09:32 AM

Her absence in the Irish top 100 is weird, is it even possible when One Direction-Four or Pitbull Greatest Hits are on it?

Posted by: Chromaticdisco Nov 23 2020, 02:39 PM

Was the album released in Ireland? Definitely feels strange it missed top 100 laugh.gif

Posted by: Bjork Nov 23 2020, 02:50 PM

cos I remember a few weeks ago, this singer I like Matt Berninger, he's the singer in The National, this US indie band... he's like zero famous, I mean, a bit in the indie universe but hardly a household name and I remember he charted at #11 in Ireland... so if this guy can nearly go top 10, sure Paloma would be too, or at least be somewhere in the top 100

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Nov 23 2020, 07:06 PM

Not sure whats happening with Ireland if it got officially released or not but as i said i find it very very strange it didnt even make the top 100 as im sure 100 sales would get you there.
Not to 18 in the UK mids, was hoping it wouldnt go into freefall,

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Jan 4 2021, 03:34 AM

I'd love Paloma to do a greatest hits release, I like some of her stuff but woulnt buy all her studio releases but would def buy a greatest hits from her.

Posted by: dannjohn Jan 4 2021, 12:26 PM

i don't think a GH would do anything... besides 'Only Love Can Hurt Like This' and 'Lullaby', I think the GP probably don't remember most of Paloma's singles.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Jan 4 2021, 07:49 PM

I would have thought a Greatest hits would do well for her.

Really? I think they would remember quite a lot - especially as a bunch have been used in ads etc in the past. I think a GH would help rekindle people's appreciation of Paloma in some ways.

Posted by: slowdown73 Jan 4 2021, 11:59 PM

I don’t think a greatest hits would do well. Paloma doesn’t have a big catalogue of successful singles and is more an album artist. Maybe an album reissue later in the year with a strong new song could ressurect the album!

I don’t think it’s gone silver yet.

Posted by: Liam.k. Jan 23 2021, 04:02 PM

Down to #140 last week, total sales have just passed 50k.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn Jan 23 2021, 11:52 PM

I can't help but feel she utterly f***ed this campaign up when she had 'Monster' and 'If This is Goodbye' RIGHT THERE at her disposal.

Posted by: Liam.k. Jan 24 2021, 12:10 AM

Seems to have gone so quiet on the promo front, even a single sent to radio would help. Still stand by that If This Is Goodbye has the potential to be big with the right promotion, it gives me Only Love... vibes.

Posted by: T Boy Jan 24 2021, 09:54 AM

Starting with Better Than This was an odd choice. I think Gold was a good single choice but yeah, Monster is right there for the releasing. She’s just about to give birth as well which means less chance of promo right now but radio aren’t touching her as far as I know either.

It’s a great album and deserves better.

She is heavily pregnant at the moment and judging by her Insta posts, very worried about the whole situation, so I think the album's not really on her mind. I suspect they will pick up the campaign after her baby and around the time the tour starts.

Hopefully, the album will get a reissue to give it a boost!

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever May 9 2021, 06:54 PM

Ya hopefully as it's really struggled with sales which is a huge shame, I'm still so disappointed it missed the top 100 here in Ireland.

Posted by: Warwick Avenue May 9 2021, 09:24 PM

A re-release would be great. I’m nite expecting one though.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn May 9 2021, 11:56 PM

It feels just that 'Monster' is finally a single, as it is clearly the highlight of the album.

I feel like it should've gone Monster > Gold > If This is Goodbye as the Christmas single, but even then I'm not convinced the campaign would have performed any better. sad.gif

Posted by: JSG May 10 2021, 06:52 AM

It's not one of my favourites on the Album sadly but I do think the video is great. As someone said though, it's a shame she isn't in it.

Posted by: slowdown73 May 11 2021, 11:31 PM

Monster is one of the best tracks on the album!

This would have been a fantastic run of singles! 'Better Than This' should never have been more than an album track.

Posted by: dannjohn May 12 2021, 09:17 AM

'monster' deffo should have been a pre-release / album week single.

Posted by: Qween May 12 2021, 09:24 AM

I've finally started to get into this album recently. The title track has to be up there with her very best songs, it's just such a massive song and obviously the lyrics lift it even higher.

I like that video for Monster, but the song itself is fine. It's not what I want from Paloma but it's most the ''obvious'' single choice from the entire album.

Posted by: Simon. May 12 2021, 09:54 AM

I think 'Better Than This' was the right song to lead, it's 'Gold' that was a bit naff I thought, personally I think 'Me Time' should be a single. wub.gif

Yeah, definitely. I think it's a really good song, but when I heard what else was on offer I was a bit baffled they'd chosen it.

Monster - Majestic Remix out today.

I’m really enjoying it.

Posted by: vibe May 28 2021, 10:54 AM

Supernatural needs to be the next single.

Monster is amazing but as far as im aware didnt get any radio support?

Posted by: Dangerous Julian May 28 2021, 11:16 AM

I missed the fact 'Monster' got released as a single! I wish she was actually in the video, even just a short cameo.

As thrilled as I am since I wanted it from the beginning, I'm equally as sad it never got radio support.

Posted by: slowdown73 May 28 2021, 02:01 PM

Yeah, the remix is really good!

I agree. It's very good!

Posted by: slowdown73 May 29 2021, 10:25 AM

Seriously, hoping the album gets a reissue. It’s a great album and deserves to do much better!

Posted by: Bré Jun 2 2021, 12:25 PM

I wasn't really that impressed by any of the previous singles/promo tracks from this album but 'Monster' is actually really good and I feel like if any song from her would have attracted attention to have any commercial success this era it'd surely be that, how did she pick so many other songs to release before that one?! It kind of sounds like a Sia song if Sia songs were still good. x

(reading back in the thread I see this is a pretty common sentiment)

Posted by: slowdown73 Jul 21 2021, 11:04 PM

Just read on Facebook today that Paloma has confirmed she is working on a new album!

Posted by: PAJ Jul 21 2021, 11:10 PM

That’s great news!

I really enjoyed this one, even though it was as commercially successful as her previous albums.

Posted by: dannjohn Jul 22 2021, 09:08 AM

goodbye to this era lol

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Jul 22 2021, 09:16 AM

It's great she is recording again, she has done re releases for all her previous albums and infinite things needed it most due to his low sales but it appears she is moving on from it. I think if it had got a re release and good promo it could have really brought its sales up.im still baffled that album missed the top 100 here in ireland.

Posted by: PAJ Jul 22 2021, 09:17 AM

It’s an incredibly solid album for me. I wish it got a greater push.

I think the difference is all her previous albums were successful, I guess they didn't really see it as being financially viable to prolong the campaign with a re-release.

Also, it was her 40th birthday yesterday! ohmy.gif

Posted by: dannjohn Jul 22 2021, 01:19 PM

surely a re-release is more cost-friendly than a whole new album?

Posted by: slowdown73 Jul 22 2021, 08:39 PM

I really liked infinite things. Probably my favourite album so far. I’m sad it didn’t perform well commercially but I suspect some of that is related to her age now and lack of support via radio. I would have supported a reissue but looks like she is moving on.

This has now finally gone Silver, shame it's taken so long. Been listening to it a few times this past week, it deserved much more.

Posted by: vibe Sep 29 2021, 04:05 PM

Going to see her soon at the palladium.

Setlist is pretty decent apart from no ‘Supernatural’.

Pleased its gone silver! Radio didnt support the singles for this campaign i didnt think.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn Sep 29 2021, 04:19 PM

I'm seeing her on the 23rd at the Palladium too! Exciting times.

Silver is pretty good all things considered!

Posted by: Lukuzz Sep 29 2021, 05:08 PM

I saw her on Monday in Newcastle she was fantastic, really made me appreciate this album a lot more !

Posted by: T Boy Sep 29 2021, 05:26 PM

Well I’ve just got my second copy of this as my parents got me the vinyl for my birthday yesterday. My Paloma vinyl collection is complete.

Wow. This has been a real fall from grace for her. All her previous albums have gone Platinum / Double Platinum. ohmy.gif

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Sep 29 2021, 06:56 PM

Ya its a huge fall, i fully expected nothing less than gold for the album at this stage.

It is a shame. She made a joke on Monday when I saw that it had only sold about 10 copies. Also that it would be the only album of hers she would actually buy and listen to so it’s a shame if it’s her favourite album it’s done the worst sales wise.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn Sep 29 2021, 08:00 PM

It did really feel like nobody cared this time around and it slipped totally under the radar. sad.gif

The single choices were a bit of a cock-up too, but even then I'm not totally convinced the outcome would have been that different.

Posted by: Jord Sep 29 2021, 08:09 PM

She deserved better for this album for sure sad.gif She did amazing to get four platinum albums though totally rare feat for a British female.

This campaign was very low key though. But I understand why it didn’t get the promo her last albums did.

Posted by: Bjork Sep 29 2021, 08:42 PM

I think the choice of singles was a mess and put a lot of people off
Plus the market has changed a lot, no one is selling like 5 years ago

found this the other day about her UK album sales, not sure if entirely up to date but it's very impressive:
Do you want the truth… [750k]
Fall to Grace [740k]
A perfect Contradiction [790k]
The architect [410k]
Invisible things [60k]

Posted by: slowdown73 Sep 30 2021, 04:06 PM

I’m surprised the last album sold poorly. The style isn’t massively different but she hasn’t had a hit from it which has connected with the wider public.

Posted by: Simon. Sep 30 2021, 05:39 PM

HMV have a special edition Fall From Grace vinyl which looks delightful, just not £30 delightful.

She did less promo for invisible things due to her been pregnant plus it was her first album that didnt have a new edition plus declining sales in general, these combined dont make up the shortfall but they all contributed.

Posted by: Bjork Oct 1 2021, 08:00 AM

she should have released Invisible Things (Fall From Grace edition) biggrin.gif

Posted by: Qween Oct 1 2021, 12:38 PM

Just going to drop in and remind y’all that the title track is one of the best things she’s ever recorded.

Posted by: Jord Oct 1 2021, 12:42 PM

Me Time is my favourite from this album.

Very Sia like actually could really imagine her singing it.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn Oct 23 2021, 11:54 PM

She was spectacular tonight at the Palladium! So glad I've finally got to see her.

Posted by: JosephStyles Oct 24 2021, 12:03 AM

Agreed, she was so good! wub.gif The setlist hit the perfect balance between the classics and the new material too!

Posted by: vibe Oct 25 2021, 04:51 PM

She was great at the palladium. I love her humour!!

She is not happy with the sales of the album haha
