thats a good top 2
Wildest Dreams is nice but it's a 8/10 song not a 10/10 song, don't get the Lana comparison either |

'Wildest Dreams' is a lovely song, but it's not her 3rd best. Absolutely no way.

'Cause darling, I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream #2. Blank Space | Avg.9.25 Highest Scores: 11: (SamJudd, blacksquare, WinterFreeze, Tawdry Hepburn), 10: (FUTURE NOSTALGIA, Jack, Jonjo, Bjork), Lowest Scores: 6.5: (Nick F1) At the runner up spot is "Blank Space", I bet this comes as a shock to many, considering this era has dominated the top end of the countdown then fall at the last hurdle by a single point. Released in November 2014 as the 2nd single from her 5th studio album "1989" & received universal acclaim by fans & critics and became an instant smash hit. In the USA it topped the charts within' 3 weeks of release following on from the lead single, she became the first woman in the Hot 100's 56-year history to succeed herself at the top spot. Worldwide the song was equally successful by topping the charts in Australia, Canada, Iceland, Scotland & South Africa as well as top 5 peaks in several countries including New Zealand, Poland, Ireland & UK. With over 11 Million copies sold worldwide this is easily one of the biggest selling singles of all-time. This definitely helped Taylor further her career in mainstream pop music with this dare I say it perfect masterpiece in pop that's driven in synths, an effortless melody, catchy sharp hooks & clever lyrics in where she not only acknowledges her public image but reclaims her own narrative in such a self deprecating style and yet still bares all the hallmarks that made her famous in the first place, which may be the smartest move she's made in her career so far. On the whole this song is just great with its minimalist arrangement that's expertly crafted into something great & something she may never better again. Once upon a time, a few mistakes ago #01. I Knew You Were Trouble | Avg.9.312
Highest Scores: 11: (Jade), 10: (Monzo, FUTURE NOSTALGIA, SamJudd, ready for it, WinterFreeze, Jonjo, Bjork), Lowest Scores: 6: (Riser) So there you have it, Buzzjack's favourite Taylor Swift single is...."I Knew You Were Trouble", released in December 2012 as the 3rd single from her 4th studio album [i]["Red"/i]. It was written by Taylor herself along with Max Martin & Shellback with production handled by the latter two. Upon release the song received generally positive reviews from music critics, who commended its mainstream appeal yet noted Swift's experimentation with dubstep as relatively limited. The track was a huge commerical success on the charts, in the US it reached #2, becoming her 14th top 10 hit & elsewhere it also reached top 5 peaks in several countries such as Australia, Canada, UK, New Zealand & Ireland. Making this one of her biggest performing hits to date. While I personally wouldn't rank this as my #1 fave Taylor Swift song, its still a great track that makes a statement of artistic intent with its chaotic production (which Taylor wanted), taut new wave guitars & a dubstep influenced chorus that shouldn't really work, but here its all held together by a sparkling melody which really makes the whole thing work beautifully & shows how versatile of an artist she really is. On the whole this track is a well crafted spiky slice of her characteristic pop music where its message not only feels intimate yet universal, all of which makes for a worthy #1 song on this countdown. Poor Blank Space not winning with that many 11s! Kinda surprising that only 3 or 4 songs in the top 10 got an 11 from anyone, but that could be a testament to the strength of Taylor's discography I suppose. Thanks for doing this!

'Blank Space' is her absolute best as far as I'm concerned, but I can't begrudge IKYWT.
