HUNTER MCQUEEN IN HOLLYOAKS rotf.gif f***ing hell.

My votes:

Actor: Connor McIntyre
Actress: Emma Atkins
Soap: Coronation Street

It's gonna be a very tense night for EastEnders. After they pretty much walked away empty handed last year, it's surely gonna be pretty humiliating if it happens again!

Posted by: Mack. 11th April 2018, 02:58 PM

Actor: Jack P Shepherd
Actress: Lucy Fallon
Soap: Coronation Street

Posted by: Liаm 11th April 2018, 04:55 PM

Voted for Emma Atkins, Michael Parr and Corrie. The latter was much closer than usual, Emmerdale has been largely great. Actress was such a hard category as Lucy Fallon particularly is outstanding but Emma Atkins is so well rounded. Michael Parr has been incredible through this acid attack storyline so just about gave it to him over Jack P Shepard. It's good to see Bhavana Limbachia at least a bit recognised too although she has no chance of making the shortlist and I couldn't justify voting for her as the absolute best laugh.gif

Eastenders will probably get something like spectacular scene or episode for Abi and Lauren falling off The Vic?

Corrie vs. Eastenders for 'Greatest Moment' surely? Those are two massive nominations.

Posted by: jαsє 1st May 2018, 06:43 PM

DELIGHTED Emma's made it this far!! wub.gif

Voted Emmerdale/Jack P Shepherd/Emma Atkins/Richard Hillman's canal plunge

Posted by: Botchia 1st May 2018, 08:46 PM

Is there a particular reason why they're doing a 'Greatest Moment' category?!

Maybe it’s the last soap awards?

Posted by: liamk97 1st May 2018, 08:58 PM

Might be anniversary of the awards, 20 years perhaps.

Posted by: lewistgreen 1st May 2018, 09:10 PM

Yeah it's the 20th year for the awards

Posted by: pippa 4th May 2018, 05:59 PM

The Greatest Moment is easily the EastEnders nomination which is now an iconic scene.

Posted by: Andrew. 2nd June 2018, 07:30 PM

Wtf at that onscreen partnership win mellow.gif

Posted by: JosephAvery 2nd June 2018, 07:32 PM

Not here for the partnership winners but otherwise it's going well tonight! EastEnders don't deserve much but I cannot argue with Lorraine Stanley winning newcomer, Karen's been a delight.

Posted by: Mack. 2nd June 2018, 07:56 PM

Wow, Doctors actually won an award. For Best Comedy Performance.

Posted by: Mack. 2nd June 2018, 07:58 PM

Best Female Dramatic Performance - Lucy Fallon (Coronation Street)
Best Newcomer – Lorraine Stanley (EastEnders)
Best Young Actor - Isobel Steele (Emmerdale)
Best On Screen Partnership - Malique Thompson-Dwyer & Theo Graham (Hollyoaks)
Best Villain - Connor McIntyre (Coronation Street)

So far.

Posted by: Andrew. 2nd June 2018, 08:02 PM

Also shocked at that Greatest Moments win, the Emmerdale crash was well done but ‘You Ain’t My Mother’ and Richard Hilman are way more iconic!

Posted by: Mack. 2nd June 2018, 08:02 PM

What........

Hotten Bypass Bus Crash winning Greatest Soap Moment over that iconic Kat/Zoe moment and Richard Hillman driving into the canal.

Posted by: HarryEzra 2nd June 2018, 08:07 PM

WTAF WITH THIS GUY WINNING HIS ACTING IS TERRIBLE....

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 2nd June 2018, 08:08 PM

That is a joke of an award with Emmerdale getting it, that should have been either Corrie or EastEnders

Emmerdale won based on its current popularity and for no other reason.

I usually dont complain about award results in general but that result is a complete joke.

Posted by: JosephAvery 2nd June 2018, 08:13 PM

Emmerdale won most iconic moment because it's one of the most visually impressive and impactful scenes that I can remember across not just soaps, but all of TV! The stunts were off the scale and it was highly ambitious. Of course the award was just for one moment, but that entire week of episodes was incredible. A highly deserved win imo!

Posted by: Mack. 2nd June 2018, 08:20 PM

Well done, Rudolph Walker on winning Lifetime Achievement.

Was it really on the same level as Corrie and EE’s though? It was a stunt.

HOWLING at Doctors.

Doctors slaying though *.*

Posted by: Mack. 2nd June 2018, 08:26 PM

A tie what?

Doctors and EastEnders winning Scene of The Year. Yes EastEnders was dramatic. Doctors?? Surprising.

Corrie's was a stunt too, no? tongue.gif They're iconic of course but I don't think we can disparage Emmerdale's win because it was easily the most visually impressive of them all!

Rudolph Walker winning outstanding achievement was brilliant to see wub.gif no way at Doctors winning scene though :')

These results are f'n horrific laugh.gif

True I suppose! but it’s not really about the visual.

It’s like they’re trying as hard as possible to give each soap the same/similar amount of awards, like Doctors and Corrie are tied :’)

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone on here say they watch it laugh.gif it rates quite well for daytime iirc though, so obviously it has it’s fans. It actually rates much better than Hollyoaks but recieves way less coverage!

Posted by: Mack. 2nd June 2018, 08:39 PM

Well Doctors has run since 2000 hasn't it? I'm shocked about Doctors winning awards.

Posted by: Mack. 2nd June 2018, 08:44 PM

Yes, fully deserved. Lucy Fallon winning Best Actress

Posted by: Andrew. 2nd June 2018, 08:45 PM

All you f**king w***rs who didnt want Emma Atkins to win suck my d!!! Lucy Fallon didnt f**king deserve it again,, PATHETIC just like all you Emma A haters!!!

Both are incredible but was rooting for Emma sad.gif

Posted by: Mack. 2nd June 2018, 08:47 PM

That should have been a tie with Emma Atkins, Lucy Fallon and Anna Passey.

Posted by: JosephAvery 2nd June 2018, 09:07 PM

So glad Corrie won best soap, thoroughly deserved! It's been on fire consistently for the past year and I pray the quality continues when Kate Oates leaves.

I'm not sure tbh, Emmerdale has been dreadful since the Emma storyline but I loved Iain's time there until then. Happy enough for Corrie, I wasn't enjoying it all from November-March but it's picked up a lot and is as good as it's been for a while!! Pleased Hollyoaks had a good night, it's not been the strongest in the past year but their nominations were good.

Not surprised ED did poorly, EE did okay I guess and Doctors had their best year since 2009 *.*

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 2nd June 2018, 09:36 PM

Corrie did deserve their soap win and im surprised that Emmerdale didnt do better and you could tell by looking at the cast that they felt the same.

I knew it wouldnt be a great year for EastEnders but they done better than i thought.

Emmerdale winning the the award for iconic episode just ruined the night for me totally i lost all interest in the results.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 2nd June 2018, 10:56 PM

Just copped now that EastEnders won more awards than Emmerdale. I wouldnt have predicted that this year.

Posted by: Liаm 3rd June 2018, 02:25 AM

Ngl Hollyoaks self-harm storyline was not deserving at all, they made it seem like some sort of trend to follow in that Peri and Yasmine just went along and did it too. I suppose that kind of thing does go on and it shows the pressure in young girls, I applaud Hollyoaks for tackling it but I think what they showed with Lily was sufficient for a great storyline, I just think it was the wrong message to send out in tackling such a topic. I also really just don't like Lily as a character laugh.gif They didn't deserve partnership or Male Dramatic Performance, for both Dramatic Performance, Episode and Storyline, it feels like they were rewarded for merely the act of tackling a difficult subject more than the actual end result or execution. Both are very important issues but they were left in the hands of not the greatest actors in the show, and not always carried in the best way. Hollyoaks has some great talent (Anna Passey is up there with the likes of Lucy Fallon, Lacey Turner and Emma Atkins for one) yet they reward... that.

Lucy Fallon's double win was fully deserved, she's possibly the best actress in any soap right now, although it would have been nice for her to have Dramatic Performance and then Emma Atkins to have Best Actress as a brilliant all-rounder, Charity is one of the funniest characters in soap as well as having a great warm relationship with Vanessa, but also shone in her past sexual abuse story. But still, Lucy Fallon is bloody incredible wub.gif As is Jack P Shepherd ofc, and for Corrie to get best soap was a cherry on top as it's done incredibly this year after being abysmal for the previous couple of years really.

Posted by: Cqmerqn 3rd June 2018, 08:38 AM

Anna Passey deserves Best Actress tbh....

Me when Emmerdale won Greatest Moment over Eastenders and Corrie:

I burst into tears when Rudolph won Outstanding Achievement Award! So well deserved and it was so touching to see how respected and loved he is by friends and colleagues. Such a legend.

How much did it cost to bring those two American actresses to London for a few minutes air time?

I honestly think they should make it all panel voted apart from Best Soap, like obvs it’s not that important but the viewer voted ones are all about fanbase. ‘You Ain’t My Muvva’ and to a lesser extent the Hillman crash were moments in British pop culture in general, did anyone really care about the Emmerdale stunt apart from viewers of the show? laugh.gif

I would say yes considering it won - I doubt Emmerdale has the biggest "fanbase" of them all really.

I was totally shocked with Emmerdale winning this award and shocked in an awful way. The EastEnders and Coronation Street nominations have stood the test of time and are moments in British pop culture in general, i agree. I do understand Emmerdale do a lot of promoting and plugging online when it comes to awards, Danny Miller in particular plugs voting for them alot.

I do believe the problem with this award is many of the public voting categories are voted by the younger audiences of the soaps and therefore would not have known of the iconic episodes nominated by Coronation Street and Eastenders. The Emmerdale scene that won was indeed great but not to the status of the aforementioned. With Coronation Street winning all the public voted categories i was shocked the fans didnt get enough votes in for them to win this aswell. I did think Coronation Street would win based on the results this year but i really wanted EastEnders to win the award as it was classic and the episodes around that reveal were complex, heartfelt and emotional with exceptional scripts behind each line.
