New BBC One drama from the writers of The Missing! In the promotion for the series, they've been keen to stress that they're wanting the four part drama to be event television, promising epic cliffhangers. It explores the fallout of a double murder and the consequences that follow rather than on the investigation.

QUOTE(BBC)
Adam Elliot and Grace Douglas are childhood sweethearts, just back from their honeymoon when they are brutally murdered. Their families, neighbours in the remote Scottish Highland village of Braeston, are devastated. But their world is turned upside down when the murderer arrives on their doorstep the night after the killing. A storm has been raging, and his car comes off the road. When the two families find him, badly injured, they are faced with a terrible dilemma…

In the search for answers, skeletons are unearthed and old wounds reopened. Everyone has secrets, but when the lines between right and wrong, good and bad, true and false, become blurred, how do you cope with the lasting and deadly consequences?

The show stars Juliet Stevenson, Joanna Vanderham, Laura Fraser, Joe Dempsie, John Lynch, Georgina Campbell & Julie Graham amongst others. It starts next Tuesday at 9pm on BBC One.

Very excited for this, looks really gripping!

Thought this was a great opener, allowing for the premise of the whole series to be set up brilliantly. The premise may have been done before but I think that there's a lot of potential there for the next three episodes! It's just hard to judge so far when the first one was more setting the scene.

This worth a go then? I'm usually pretty patient with allowing shows to settle and introduce characters and stories with the first episode.

Sorry Liam, I forgot to respond to you so I'll do it now with the benefit of having seen the whole thing! I thought the show was going to be better than it was. Considering the title is 'One of Us', they didn't really utilise the fact that they were all suspects to the greatest of effects, I didn't really care who it was. There were parts that were really good and suspenseful though, particularly the final 30 minutes or so of the last episode! The actors were all of a superb standard as well. Overall, there was a lot of potential but it just wasn't as effective as it could have been.

My other problem was that the drug storyline had nothing to do with the actual plot and so I'm just left baffled as to why it was included. My only thought is that it gave the detective a storyline considering they didn't have that much to do regarding the actual focus of the series. It took up a lot of time for something that was totally not related to the premise and was unnecessary!
