Ed Sheeran's newest album ÷ has almost been out for a year now, and it's showing no signs of going anywhere as it currently sits at #2, and has yet to leave the top six let alone the top ten. So get your crystal balls out and predict. For reference, 'X' spent 74 consecutive top 10 weeks, more than Adele's '21' which spent 71.
I think it will briefly drop out in Q3 when sales are dead and a load of fanbase acts release in the same week. Alternatively, never seems quite likely at this rate.
Q4
actually it's still top 10 cos of streams, not sure whats the rule x album streams, probably count forever
There is still another single, right?
I reckon it'll be in Q4 but of course it could potentially survive into 2019..
I'd say Q4, unless there's another single, then idk
It depends on if he decides to re-release it at some point like he did with X, obviously it’ll stay high without anothe release but he could even go #1 again if he releases a new version of the album lead by a big single.
The re-release of 'x' actually barely had any effect didn't it? In any case I don't think he will be doing a re-release this time.
I think he'll dip out of the top 10 some time in Q3.
Q2
I picked Q3, as it could stay there with less than 7k.
for what I understand there's a confirmed 5th single coming, I assume a new version with an added rapper
it would make sense to premiere it this week at the Brits, I guess???
and pretty sure I read there's not gonna be a re-release, he's already talking about album 4
Possibly late q2/ earlier q3 temporarily but will be top 40 long after and probably climb back in
In 4 months?
I sent for sometime in Q3.
When at least ten albums get more "sales"
Probably not until August.
Although it never deserved to even spend one week there anyway.
Hopefully until his next album is released
It has finally happened!!!
÷ drops down to #11 this week following 76 consecutive top 10 weeks (beating his personal record of 74 for 'X')
I vote quarter 3...
Omg I was right
crazy that it's been there for 70+ weeks
Well it is a good album
I have noticed the album has finally been discounted on iTunes (from £12.99 to £7.99), so can’t see it being absent from the top 10 for long.
