BuzzJack Music Forum _ UK Charts _ When will ÷ leave the top ten?

Posted by: danG 17th February 2018, 02:45 PM

Ed Sheeran's newest album ÷ has almost been out for a year now, and it's showing no signs of going anywhere as it currently sits at #2, and has yet to leave the top six let alone the top ten. So get your crystal balls out and predict. For reference, 'X' spent 74 consecutive top 10 weeks, more than Adele's '21' which spent 71.

I think it will briefly drop out in Q3 when sales are dead and a load of fanbase acts release in the same week. Alternatively, never seems quite likely at this rate.

No it's not, it's #2 on pure album sales too http://www.officialcharts.com/charts/albums-sales-chart/

Also I'm gonna say Q4, when the release schedule gets busier again and the era starts to die down, it must dip out even for one week.

There is still another single, right?

I reckon it'll be in Q4 but of course it could potentially survive into 2019..

I'd say Q4, unless there's another single, then idk

Posted by: Dexton 17th February 2018, 03:14 PM

It depends on if he decides to re-release it at some point like he did with X, obviously it’ll stay high without anothe release but he could even go #1 again if he releases a new version of the album lead by a big single.

The re-release of 'x' actually barely had any effect didn't it? In any case I don't think he will be doing a re-release this time.

I think he'll dip out of the top 10 some time in Q3.

Q2

Posted by: vidcapper 17th February 2018, 04:08 PM

I picked Q3, as it could stay there with less than 7k.

Posted by: Bjork 17th February 2018, 04:30 PM

for what I understand there's a confirmed 5th single coming, I assume a new version with an added rapper
it would make sense to premiere it this week at the Brits, I guess???

and pretty sure I read there's not gonna be a re-release, he's already talking about album 4

Possibly late q2/ earlier q3 temporarily but will be top 40 long after and probably climb back in

When at least ten albums get more "sales" tongue.gif

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 4th March 2018, 01:46 AM

Probably not until August.

Although it never deserved to even spend one week there anyway.

Posted by: Dexton 4th March 2018, 06:35 AM

Hopefully until his next album is released kink.gif

It has finally happened!!!

÷ drops down to #11 this week following 76 consecutive top 10 weeks (beating his personal record of 74 for 'X')

It speaks volumes about the listening habits of the British public, particularly those who stream.

Posted by: Dexton 25th August 2018, 01:42 PM

Well it is a good album wink.gif

Posted by: GTH 25th August 2018, 02:01 PM

I have noticed the album has finally been discounted on iTunes (from £12.99 to £7.99), so can’t see it being absent from the top 10 for long.
