By far the most obscure though. No airplay at the time or since and I wasn't impressed much on the one listen I gave it the other week. Maybe it's a grower

Virginia Plain out already?
Also, surprised at the climb for Natalie Cole... and yay for the Staple Singers climb, even if it's nowhere near far enough!
Yes some surprises here. Virginia plain has a very unusual structure whih i guess doesnt appeal to everyone. I love it and i csn sing along ferry style to every single word. When i get forced to do public karaoke one day that will be my song. Or american pie or tie a yellow ribbon as they are not challenging in range

Right, that's all done and dusted. Thanks again to everyone who voted in this, and in all the other rates over the past few months.
So, goodbye to the 1970s and hello to the 1990s! See you in a week's time...
Hurrah! The 90s will be much more my thing!
Good results on the whole I think for this one, very little here that I don't like.
Thanks AH, appreciated and a fab chart all round really, collectively fantastic tastes I thought, and the order was pretty fair on the whole.
(PS I see you've also converted to the Royksopp cause, chart comments to follow any day now)
Wahey, thought I was going to be disappointed by the reshuffle, but the top 3 is fabulous and - wow! - a 29 place climb for Feargal and the boys.
Thanks loads for running this AHGold - the 90s will be good for me too. Looking forward to some interesting indie acts in the 31-40 range. Here's an early plea for everyone to vote for Glasgow's finest Urusei Yatsura at #40 with Hello Tiger!
Heh heh, that's exactly it. Urusuei Yatsura were my favourite band when I was a student in Glasgow. I remember they sneaked into the chart at no.40 in 1997 (I think) which really wasn't expected!
Thanks for hosting, AH.
