Top 100 for the 31st August 2019

Pete's Chart Commentary
I've been away again this week, so other than a few big new entries that caught my attention we have a fairly stagnant chart, but we do have a new #1! Cavetown grabs it with another long climb, and he would have made it a 100% #1 hit rate if not for his debut at #37 with his new song 'Feb 14'. Leon Else's 'Signs' takes a tumble from #2 to #9, and that's the most interesting things to have happened to the top 10 this week. Keane's new single climbs 11 places to #6, whilst Skillet's 'Anchor' climbs one place to #10.

Other new entries come from Nico and Vinz' comeback as a feature on actor HAYES' debut single (although what he does on it I have no idea), another newie from Walk Off the Earth, a collaboration and another chart hit for all of Whethan, The Knocks and Crystal Fighters, and a return to the chart after 3 years for The Divine Comedy with his catchy single 'Queuejumper'. A late new entry for Lizzo breaks up an otherwise stagnant 40-100 section.

Hey Pete!

Will have to check out that new Keane track - I do find them increasingly bland lately, but they do still churn out the odd gem!

Will check out your #1 too, as I quite like a lot of Lost Frequency's stuff.

New entry of the week is Declan McKenna though - his last album was brilliant, so I'm excited for his comeback. This song isn't as immediate but it is growing on me, I'll more than likely chart it next week smile.gif any idea if it's a proper lead single?

Great stuff!

Keane, bland??? Definitely not for me, this is some of their best stuff (and plus this is only their second single since 2016 wink.gif ). I think Declan said this might not even be on the album but the album is coming soon! Thanks Mango biggrin.gif

Hello Pete!
Nice to see "Post Malone" and "Sorry" debut below the top 100!
Great chart!

Glad you like these (although they probably wouldn't be in my chart if they weren't so popular tongue.gif ) Thanks Sergej!

not keen on the new Lost Frequencies track sadly, he hasn't done it for me in a long while.
liking Post Malone and Sorry from your new entries lower down, plus Go Slow, XTC, Something About You, The Power and Hate Me from last week's new entries (I absolutely love XTC at the moment).

I'd give Sun Is Shining another shot, I wasn't a massive fan on first listen but it's just grown and grown! Glad you like the others as well - thanks Dan!

Hi Pete!

Not really feeling that new Lost Frequencies track at number one, I haven't really been impressed with anything he's released since the brilliant Reality.

Definitely a fan of the new entry for Keane though, hoping that climbs!

Reality is brill but he's released so many good ones since then! Glad you like the Keane one as well (see M4NGO, not bland tongue.gif ) Thanks coi!

I definitely do like their new songs, but I'd have to disagree with you on it being 'some of their best stuff' because I think it's not that impressive compared to all of their previous albums!

Hello Pete!
Nice to see "Truth Hurts" debuting (not as good as "Juice", but it's great!) and the re-entry for "Hypersonic Missiles" (I'm excited for his album!).
Great chart!

Great to see Keane get their second top ten single this year here! Interesting to see Drab Majesty continue to climb too, another good BJSC winner. My favourite of your new entries this week is from The Divine Comedy (from the similarly great single National Express), the music video for Queuejumper is brilliant.

Nice chart!
