Our Irish entry is better than what we sent to the main event in the last couple of years.

My god, the scoring is hard to watch, is everyone given a lesson on how to shout, everyone given the scores just shouted which is fiercely annoying. The presenters were equally as bad.

Russia was my favourite entry song-wise, although meeting the Maltese and Macedonian delegations made my allegiance very strong towards them both (and both of their songs were inside my top 5 in the end)! I was expecting Russia and Poland to landslide the online voting due to having the biggest JESC audiences as you could vote for your own country. Glad that wasn't the case and we had a representative result. Nevertheless, Polina is one of the best winners ever and her performance would easily be good enough for an adult Eurovision stage. I hope to see her in adult Eurovision in a few years!
Loved the contest overall, will always be a special one after being out in Tbilisi for a few days. A beautiful city and a striking blend of the old and the ultra-modern. Lizi and Helen were great hosts and Lizi's green room presence during the voting was hilarious even if very non-impartial as she perhaps should've been! |

Georgia put on a good show, but I wasn't overly impressed with a majority of the songs. Had the online vote actually worked I'd have voted for Georgia, Poland and Cyprus (as you had to vote for a minimum of 3 songs iirc). Russia's performance was better than the song itself.
Glad you had a great time out there Ryan anyway! |
