It's okay on first listen, probably be a grower for me. But really hoping the album is something special given how amazing Lungs/Ceremonials are!

I like it on first listen. I am sure the album will be very consistent like the previous two going on what we have heard so far.

This description of the song is lovely and so true though:
QUOTE
"I guess I was thinking about my own self destructive side, and how you can make something only to tear it down, enjoy/destroy, create/devastate etc… When you're in that whirlwind, you often end up breaking the thing you love the most."

I found it pretty disappointing, and certainly nowhere near as good as "What Kind of Man". sad.gif

Not sure yet. What Kind of Man was so instantly amazing, but I guess this will be a grower.

I really like it, the chorus is catchy and her vocals makes it sound really big. Sounds a lot more commercial than the previous songs and apparently it's being released in May so hopefully they're lining this up to be a hit leading into the album.

This has not got a patch on 'What Kind Of Man', but it's nice they've both sounded different to her past stuff (even if 'Ship To Wreck' is basically just plain and standard indie-pop).

I like it, but I can't see it becoming a proper hit. It's catchy enough so it should get its fair share of support.

#73 on iTunes - also available on Spotify.

I don't know why but I find the 'to wreck' vocal in the chorus a bit annoying, and the song feels a bit weak but hey it's Flo so it'll no doubt grow on me.

The chorus is so disappointing and nothingy, more like the end of a chorus rather than a full one. The rest of the song is pretty great though, especially the "Did I drink too much? Am I losing touch?" refrain.

I much prefer this to St Jude, which I find a bit plodding. It's not as good as What Kind Of Man though, which I haven't listened to enough actually and have underrated thus far sad.gif

This is just a bit.... safe? What Kind Of Man was punchy and had attitude but this is just quite nice and inoffensive, but it's growing with a few more listens tbf so I might like it a lot more soon. I agree that it's good she's trying new sounds but I hope the album has some classic Flo on it!

I love this so much. The bridge before the chorus is so, so good. So summery and upbeat.
So excited for this album, I think this will definitely rank above ceremonials, not sure about lungs though.

I really like this. It's feels very 'fun' for a Florence song, although that's not to say that I dislike her usual style. "What Kind of Man" is still a massive tune though, this has yet to top it for me but it's growing and I prefer it to "St. Jude". It's a shame that she's not seeing the singles successes that Lungs and Ceremonials brought her but hopefully either of the singles will grow into one at some point!
