Most of the new entries are associated with the Drake/Kendrick feud, although they saved room for GloRilla and Chappell Roan to enter. On the album chart, Taylor Swift blocks Dua Lipa from #1. Future Nostalgia had spent just its first week at #1 in NZ. Better than Sia, though, who actually matches the #35 peak of LSD's album from five years ago. Sia's career peak is still #4 for 1000 Forms Of Fear in 2014.

Two more new entries courtesy of Myles Smith and Macklemore; the latter is charting for the first time since his collab on Why Don't We's 'I Don't Belong In This Club', which peaked at #25 in 2019, and the first time as lead artist since 'Good Old Days' peaked at #14 in 2017! Kings Of Leon broke their #1 albums streak with their last release, which peaked at #2 in 2021. This time they debut at #3. Gunna earns his second top 10 album in NZ, his first since Wunna peaked at #7 in 2020. His most recent release A Gift & A Curse peaked at #12 last year. If I counted right, her 2019 album had 8 charting tracks and her 2021 album had 6 (and not necessarily at the same time). Alas, she does not claim a third NZ #1, as 'Bad Guy' and 'Therefore I Am' remain her only two. Taylor's album drops to #2 after 4 weeks at #1, whereas Midnights spent its first 6 weeks at #1. Billie Eilish unsurprisingly earns her third consecutive #1 album. If you were curious of Zayn's chart trajectory, his debut Mind Of Mine reached #1, while sophomore album Icarus Falls didn't chart at all. Nobody Is Listening peaked at #31 in 2021, and now Room Under The Stairs scrapes in at #38.

Central Cee adds a fourth top 20 hit to his tally while Zach Bryan falls just short. On the album chart, Billie stays at #1, already surpassing the one week her previous album spent at the top. When We All Fall Asleep... spent 10 weeks at #1 so she still has a way to go to match that. Twenty One Pilots match the #3 peak of their last album, but not the #2 peak of Blurryface or #1 peak of Trench. Bring Me The Horizon get their second-highest charting album to date, despite presumably not all formats being available yet. That's The Spirit got to #2 in 2015, while Amo was #9 in 2019 and Sempiternal was #10 in 2013. Apparently a blue-vinyl release of Fleetwood Mac's Rumours justifies its re-entry into the album chart.

On the album chart, Gravity Stairs becomes one of only three Crowded House albums to miss the top 3. Their last release, Dreamers Are Waiting, reached #2 in 2021. Becky Hill appears on the album chart for the first time in NZ. And SZA's SOS could go recurrent as soon as next week, as I believe it's been 18 months since its release now.

Charli XCX does not match the #2 peak of Crash but it's comfortably her second-highest charting album of her career, and a second top 5 album. Bon Jovi have had two #1 albums in NZ but don't appear to be particularly big there anymore. Their previous charting albums in the past decade were Burning Bridges (#19, 2015) and This House Is Not For Sale (#20, 2016) and I'm sure there's one after that which must not have charted at all. If that's the case then #28 for Forever is an upwards improvement at least.

He's higher in the singles chart than he's been since May 9, 2022, when 'Stay' was also at #16 and 'Thousand Miles' dropped 6-14 in its second week. Chappell Roan gets her second singles chart entry with 'HOT TO GO!', and NZ appears to be the first country to put 'You Look Like You Love Me' in its official top 40. Three new entries in the album chart this week. Imagine Dragons don't quite match the #11 peak of Mercury Act 1, but they at least beat the #25 peak of Mercury Acts 1 & 2. Their best peak is still #3, for both Evolve and Origins. Camila Cabello actually beats, by one place, the #25 peak of her last release Familia, helped in part by the recurrent rules (which weren't in effect yet in 2022) but still. Unfortunately Megan Thee Stallion has her lowest peak to date, but her others didn't have high chart positions either (#22 for Good News and #27 for Traumazine).

On the album chart, Billie Eilish's run ends with 8 weeks at #1, for now at least. If she returns to the top for 2 more weeks she'll match the 10 weeks her debut album spent at #1. Eminem now has 11 #1 albums in NZ. Music To Be Murdered By only spent one week at the top so we'll see how this one fares in comparison. Clairo, Cigarettes After Sex, and Enhypen all make their NZ album chart debut, while OneRepublic have their fifth charting album, but their lowest charting one to date. Human peaked at #14 for them in 2021. At least this one does better than 2009's Waking Up, which never charted in NZ despite four of its singles charting for them!

Both of those were only one-week chart-toppers, so 'Birds' could break a personal record for Billie as soon as next week. Last week's Eminem album bomb has quickly disappeared except for 'Houdini' and his collab with Jelly Roll. As a result a number of songs get new peaks, rebound and/or re-enter. Ice Spice charts for the second time as first-credited artist, and easily beating the peak of her first ('Princess Diana', #31). Dominic Fike charts in NZ for the second time, five years after '3 Nights' peaked at #6. On the album chart, Eminem is at #1 for a second week, which his previous album was unable to do. Highly Suspect and Glass Animals both have career peaks, the latter just barely beating the #8 peak of Dreamland. Stray Kids can't match the #7 peak of 5-Star but it's still a third top 10 album for them. Likewise Jimin doesn't match the #8 peak of Face, but Childish Gambino does match his career peak, 03.15.20 also peaked at #18.

Sam Smith returns with the 10th anniversary edition of an album that had 8 weeks at #1 in the span of about 8 months. And Khalid charts for the first time since Scenic Drive (The Tape) went to #37 in 2021. He improves on that but still a far cry from his career peak, a #2 peak for Free Spirit in 2019.

On the album chart, Billie Eilish's album will remain a 10-week #1 for now, as Chappell Roan overtakes for her first week at #1!
