BuzzJack Music Forum _ Pop _ Camila | 1st album

Posted by: TMD_24 6th January 2017, 03:54 PM

Camila Cabello has found fame in Fifth Harmony & out of it, it seems like she going to get more fame out as in an exclusive Billboard article., she has announced that her debut single will be out in either April/May with the album out 2017/18

QUOTE
Cabello, meanwhile, is expected to drop her first single -- after appearing alongside Shawn Mendes and Machine Gun Kelly on two Hot 100 top 20 hits -- in April or May.

Really looking forward to this! She will have a fresh new start as a solo artist with plenty of promising song and perhaps a no1.jpg song with it!

I hope I don't like it.

Well, I don't mind if I like it, I'm just not a massive fan of her arrogance and obnoxiousness, at least that is how she comes across to me. But then I suppose she never wanted to be in a band anyway, but she was always rubbing the Taylor Swift friendship in every ones face and interrupting and taking over interviews etc... I don't know... Don't like her tone of voice either, it is too screechy it annoys me. I wish her well, but that's just my opinion.

Love Incredible is quite something ❤️

Literally obsessed with 'Bad Things' - hopefully this album is half as good!

FINALLY! I can listen to the song and actually ENJOY it! :')

There's no way she's gonna flop. Someone behind the scenes has been plotting her solo record since 5H hit the scene.

Posted by: Davidson 19th February 2017, 05:07 PM

I was so ready to hate her output but I'm loving 'Love Incredible'.

I hope her real solo stuff is shit so I don't have to start liking her kink.gif

Posted by: BridgeCow 20th February 2017, 12:56 PM

Love Incredible is so amazing! It should be doing so much more.

Posted by: Liаm 20th February 2017, 01:01 PM

I'm very impressed by Love Incredible, her voice doesn't seem as marmite on it to me, although I like her voice anyway.

Camila has confirmed that the album won't be out until next year sad.gif She's also confirmed the title of another song that will be on it called "Never Be the Same". Full interview with OCC http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/camila-cabello-on-the-success-of-havana-and-the-status-of-her-debut-album-lifes-too-short-to-be-afraid__20644/.

FFS. Capitalise on 'Havana'!!

Ugh. I really hate hers and Rita's management tbh.

Posted by: White Mustang 5th October 2017, 02:04 PM

Havana is literally smashing worldwide right now, not getting the album pre-order up and ready is a huge, huge mistake.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 5th October 2017, 03:06 PM

Maybe it's not finished?

Posted by: Jack 5th October 2017, 03:27 PM

I've heard Crying In The Club won't be on the album too sad.gif

Posted by: Bjork 5th October 2017, 04:43 PM

she does say the album is not finished yet

Posted by: tommie 5th October 2017, 07:16 PM

Weird, I thought I heard that the album was supposed to be out this past Friday (September 29th), but that was obviously wrong.

Posted by: IDGANewRules 5th October 2017, 08:11 PM

It'll flop, Fifth Harmony had a massive hit in 2016 with WFH and they still couldn't get above 80k SPS so I fail to see how Camila with a smaller hit, a long ass break and America's ever dwindling album sales will serve her well. Gonna bet the next single flops and we don't get the album until like June sad.gif

Album has been pushed back to Jan as ‘Havana’is doing better than expected laugh.gif

I'd take that as a reason to release it now but ok camila's management drama.gif I guess Q1 rather than Q4 means that she'll be able to debut higher as Q4 is busier but eh.

Posted by: JosephGutierrez 8th October 2017, 02:50 PM

Q4 would've been a terrible time for her to release tbh so I'm kinda glad, she's not a big enough name to avoid being swallowed up yet.

Posted by: mdhapedVop 3rd November 2017, 05:38 PM

(move this to the album thread if there's one ;o)

Camila has just confirmed she's got a song with Ed Sheeran on her new album called The Boy.

Album is also being reworked & potentially a new title but tbc on that

Posted by: THEO. 7th November 2017, 12:14 PM

She performed a new song called "Never Be the Same" at the Music Industry Awards last night! Hope someone got a recording of it.

Posted by: UltraReputation 5th December 2017, 01:40 PM

Called Camila, out 12th January!

Was not expecting it that soon 😮❤️

Posted by: aDNAn 5th December 2017, 02:01 PM

That’s awesome, it might actually debut #1 with SPS factored in.

Posted by: Cremey 5th December 2017, 02:03 PM

Glad it’s out so soon! Can’t wait for this.
Much prefer it being self-titled too, wasn’t keen on the original title at all.

Apparently The Boy and Never Be The same are out as instant grats on friday!

NBTS is deffo comin Friday. Not sure about The Boy. I know Ed cowrote it but again not sure if he’s on actual song...

NBTS is quite old school Demi

Definitely going to buy this.. just hoping CITC has made it onto the tracklist. I can see this going #1 if there's no major competition.

That artwork heart.gif

Also it's Never Be The Same and Real friends out Friday as pre-orders she's confirmed on Insta alongside the cover!

Posted by: Mistletheo 5th December 2017, 05:07 PM

Not keen on a self-titled debut but at least it prevents her using it further into her career. Love the artwork!

I hope she calls her next album Cabello

Not happy. Couldn't it have been a UK Bonus Track at least? It was a decent hit elsewhere in Europe too.

Posted by: JosephCarey 5th December 2017, 06:30 PM

There's still a chance it could be a bonus track I guess, or maybe a deluxe track. I hope so anyway sad.gif

Yeah, that's literally what it is! Maybe like with Dangerous Woman it'll make sense why it was left off if it doesn't fit in context of the album.

The cover is so nice.

Posted by: Cremey 5th December 2017, 11:16 PM

Sad that CITC won’t be included but it’s not that surprising. If it’s gone in a different direction then it makes sense for it to not be on there. Some of my favourite singles haven’t made the album ('Bitch Better Have My Money', 'All Day') in the end but in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t really make much of a difference.

Adore the artwork so much. Loved the 'Havana' and 'OMG' ones too so I’m glad this is in that vein rather than the shocking CITC and 'I Have Questions' ones. Everything’s been executed so well since 'Havana'/'OMG' dropped, I can see this being absolutely huge for her. Can’t wait.

Posted by: F**kin'Pie 6th December 2017, 12:27 AM

Awkward when I've been scrobbling all her music for an album title which now doesn't exist...

Not sure how I feel about new title vs old. Part of me wonders if it's an excuse to get people to learn to pronounce her name right tbh

Posted by: jase. 6th December 2017, 12:29 AM

CITC is an absolute tune so that sucks :/

Posted by: allfiredup93 6th December 2017, 12:49 PM

I’m wondering if I Have Questions has been omitted too!

Posted by: Jonjo 6th December 2017, 08:01 PM

'Never Be the Same' is premiering tomorrow 8am EDT (1pm UK). Nice to counteract the fact that it will be on Australian iTunes and Spotify around that time!

I wonder if this will be the same song? It sounds different to 'Havana' so it's an interesting choice to premiere next after shelving her album.. I thought we'd get some more Urban-lite Pop bangers.

Posted by: Juan Carlos 🌴 6th December 2017, 08:02 PM

"Real Friends" will be out at 8am EDT too.

Posted by: Jonjo 6th December 2017, 08:04 PM

Are they "doing a Havana/OMG" and checking to see which has the better reaction before confirming the next single? laugh.gif

I guess if it worked last time 🙃🙃

Posted by: Scene 6th December 2017, 11:06 PM

Ooh good idea to do another "Havana/OMG" - I guess it makes sense if the album is coming in January, get as many songs out there to promote it!

it's the same song, she's posted pictures of lyrics and they're all included in that video

Posted by: Dexton 7th December 2017, 02:16 PM

I love both of them. Equal to Havana for me.

From the three released songs for this album so far (Havana, Never Be The Same, Real Friends) I'm extremely excited for the final product on 12th January. Crying In The Club, I Have Questions, and even OMG (apparently) are scrapped from the album and I think that's a really good thing to be honest. CITC was good but doesn't suit the rest of her catalog and would feel out-of-place on the album. Charli XCX & Ed Sheeran collabs are exciting too

Posted by: Scene 7th December 2017, 02:23 PM

Scrap these and push OMG!

Okay RF isn't too bad and could smash (maybe with a remix added) but Never Be The Same is no better than CITC and OMG. Probably the worst song she's released thus far.

Posted by: Bjork 7th December 2017, 02:32 PM

i'd also go for OMG
the new one is ok but nothing amazing

Posted by: Liаm 7th December 2017, 04:30 PM

RF is OK but a bit bland on first listen, I definitely prefer NBTS but I'd probably go for OMG as well to be honest!

Posted by: Jonjo 7th December 2017, 04:40 PM

There's something very 'Love Yourself' about 'Real Friends'. Was it the one that was written by Ed, coz if so, maybe that's why? It's sort of just a step up from an all out acoustic track, sort of thing. I actually really like it.

Posted by: Bjork 7th December 2017, 07:04 PM

i think the one written with ed was a different one, boy? or something

edit, found it
In an interview with Brazilian personality Hugo Gloss, Sheeran shared that he wrote a song for Cabello, and in a recent interview between Beats 1’s Zane Lowe and Cabello, the singer confirmed that the song was called "The Boy," and would appear on her upcoming debut solo album

Posted by: Jack 7th December 2017, 07:11 PM

I really love 'Real Friends', I love lyrics that talk about friendships and the whole feel of it is really polished.

'Never Be The Same' is just okay, can't see it being a hit if it were a single. These feel more like album tracks to me, I hope that's the case and they aren't singles really.

Ahhh. Thanks. biggrin.gif

Posted by: Martyn 7th December 2017, 08:51 PM

So according to iTunes. The album is only 11 tracks and tracks 1 & 11 are both Never be the Same. Track 11 is apparently the radio edit but it’s the same length as Track 1. So I guess it’s a censored version?

11 Tracks seems really short considering how long it’s been coming for.

Posted by: CardiiB 7th December 2017, 08:53 PM

Never Be The Same is the 2nd album single
Can't see it having anywhere near the succes as Havana she needed to come back with something more... original to her style kinda

Posted by: Liаm 7th December 2017, 08:54 PM

Yeah that is quite short given we've now heard Havana, OMG (assuming that's on the album), Real Friends and NBTS.

Posted by: Jack 7th December 2017, 08:55 PM

They'll probably put I Have Questions & Crying In The Club on as bonus tracks.

Posted by: Bjork 7th December 2017, 09:01 PM

looks like OMG is not on the album either, would be in the tracklist

Posted by: Jonjo 7th December 2017, 10:02 PM

Yeah. I think someone has said that OMG isn't on the album. I get that they've probs scrapped the entire album and done it all again or whatever, but surely there's no harm in adding CITC and OMG as bonus tracks or something, just to bulk it out?

Posted by: Scene 7th December 2017, 10:10 PM

If they're not bonus tracks I'm less inclined to buy the album - I was enjoying all her output sad.gif This new stuff better amaze.

Posted by: cqmerqn 7th December 2017, 11:12 PM

Ugghhhh, none of these new ones sound like Hits :/

Posted by: Cremey 8th December 2017, 02:02 AM

They’re both great.
'Never Be the Same' seems like the more obvious smash but neither of them are 'Havana' style catchy.
'Real Friends' is so so cute.

Posted by: cqmerqn 8th December 2017, 08:00 AM

Nvm NBTS will be huge

lol

Posted by: Bjork 8th December 2017, 09:00 AM

it's barely managed low top 40, thought havana would have made her a bigger name

Posted by: Jack 8th December 2017, 09:39 AM

I think it's more to do with it being the festive period where everything gets swamped with Christmas songs, people aren't here for new music really, it's annoying.

Posted by: Bjork 8th December 2017, 09:58 AM

not sure,
if she had gained many many new fans, she'd easily would have gone top 10 on itunes on a thu afternoon

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 9th December 2017, 07:00 AM

Yeah i’d have held off till Jan 1st if I were her team because were about to hit the xmas freeze. The only new music that’ll impact now is Eminem.

Posted by: Jay ☆ 9th December 2017, 01:40 PM

The two new songs aren't doing much for me. sad.gif The nicotine/heroin/morphine line in Never Be The Same is very grating sounding (herroweeen!), and the song as a whole isn't particularly memorable - a huge step down from Havana. I honestly think Crying in the Club, OMG & I Have Questions are stronger than Never Be The Same and Real Friends, so it's a shame she/the label has opted to not include them on the album.

INTO IT 😍

Posted by: Cameron 12th January 2018, 12:36 AM

Oh my lord Into It is perfection

Posted by: Jonjo 12th January 2018, 12:49 AM

Hmm...

It's a solid effort, but I kinda wanted/expected more.

But anyway, early highlights for me are 'She Loves Control', 'Inside Out' heart.gif and 'Into It'.

I hope once I become more familiar with the songs, the album will feel better/stronger for me.

So far I'd probs rank it about 3/5

Posted by: Juliano 12th January 2018, 12:53 AM

So far listening, feeling like She Loves Control would make an amazing Spring/Summer single. But I'm really struggling to get Spotify to work tonight, so that's as far as I got.

EDIT: Also liked Inside Out ALOT, single material for sure will go off in clubs. Also feeling like Crying In The Club would have made the perfect track 11 on this album.

Posted by: Liаm 12th January 2018, 01:53 AM

Yeah this is kinda disappointing sad.gif Perhaps it needs more listens but it's really missing the omitted tracks, as I'd rank Crying in The Club above them all and love the others too. It's not like that are so drastically different they wouldn't fit...

The two singles, Into It, She Loves Control, Real Friends and Inside Out are great but the remaining few are a bit samey for me.

Posted by: HarryEzra 12th January 2018, 02:21 AM

Hearing the album now and so far She Loves Control for single 3 please wub.gif

Posted by: Dexton 12th January 2018, 06:52 AM

This is really good wub.gif I don't really feel it was necessary to leave out the tracks she left out, but I also don't really miss them tongue.gif And I can just choose to play CITC, IHQ & OMG after the album if I feel like it laugh.gif

Am I wrong in saying that Camila, Ariana, and Dua are becoming the new Rihanna, Katy, and Lady Gaga? Those seem like the most obvious parallels, obviously Dua is unlikely to wear a meat dress, and Camila will need a few more hits under her belt, but 2018 is looking to be a good year for these ladies wub.gif

Posted by: Bjork 12th January 2018, 09:17 AM

QUOTE
"Real Friends” is not about that (leaving 5H) at all. I wrote “Real Friends” just before it was released, it’s so new. (In L.A.) I felt lonely. I didn’t really have a social life when I was there. I was just working… everyone I met was just so connected to the music industry (her work)

Camila actually seems like such a sweetheart, I'm so glad she left Fifth Harmony. Since 5H became 4 members they've become so sexually aggressive with their music (even more than before) and have, to me, lost whatever charm they had. The whole performance at the VMA's throwing shade at Camila just appeared so salty and I think has tarnished how a portion of the public now see them as a group. Granted, I know at least half of all the shady acts they've been doing/saying is pushed by the record label in order to get them even more publicity, but it was still just so unnecessary.

Anyway, I'm reealllyyy loving this album right now wub.gif She Loves Control is so much fun and it's already showing to be a clear favourite for me (of the non-singles), but I do really like everything else too.

Posted by: Jonjo 13th January 2018, 07:58 AM

I've never fully understood the whole "she was the bitch of the group" criticisms towards her. She was always the star of the group imo, and I saw it everywhere on blogs and stuff. I always got the feeling a couple of the others were always jealous of her for some reason.

But anyway. That's for an entirely different convo and I'm bored of hearing about it.

She clearly made the right choice to leave. No point working in a hostile environment when you have what it takes to go solo.

Posted by: Bjork 13th January 2018, 08:51 AM

absolutely
but after hearing the album i kinda understand now why Crying in the club and omg were left out, it's for cohesiveness, the whole album is produced by this one guy, Frank Dukes, so wouldnt make sense to add the Stargate-produced tracks,
makes sense to me

I get the production thing, but I really feel like CITC would sound great on this album anyway (especially towards the end) and i'm surprised there isn't a deluxe or UK version where it and the other tracks are included, if the label whacked them on the end, changed the cover a little and upped the price a coupe of quid, it would work. I think another reason it bothers me is because I don't like that Never Be The Same is on there twice, so when you loop the album you get it twice in a row (even if slightly different).

Posted by: Botchia 13th January 2018, 12:27 PM

She Loves Control is so good! This album really should have had Crying In The Club, I Have Questions and OMG?! They would've fitted perfectly fine on the album and it's only 10 tracks as it is :')

Those seem like the most obvious parallels, obviously Dua is unlikely to wear a meat dress, and Camila will need a few more hits under her belt, but 2018 is looking to be a good year for these ladies wub.gif

yes much like three women who had successs at the same time in the past, these are three women having success currently

i think that’s where the parallels end

Posted by: cqmerqnita 13th January 2018, 02:45 PM

Ariana is far bigger than Dua and Camila

This is a brilliant album. Not one song I would skip.

Posted by: Jonjo 14th January 2018, 01:02 AM

I've let this album settle now and I am actually REALLY loving it now. Just little tweaks in the production and vocal production throughout the album with the odd effect and stuff and then her vox and delivery... it's all spot on. wub.gif

Took longer than I thought it would (a day 😂😂😂) but I am loving this album.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 14th January 2018, 07:15 AM

DAMN GOOD debut album to be fair. It's a little bit of her trying hard to say "I'm a legitimate artist" for a chunk of it, but it's got strong production and listening to it from start to finish I get what she was aiming for with it.

5H had bops, but she's beyond that... I get her artistry, and having heard this I know that no other member of 5H had this in them to create something like this in a million years.

I take my hat off to Camila, to be fair. winner.gif

She's #1 on over 100 countries on iTunes with this album ohmy.gif She's among company such as Adele, 1D, Justin Bieber, Beyonce and Taylor Swift who have achieved that, queen!

Totally agree, I might not love every track (like Jonjo said they're growing though) but it has much more artistry and personality to it than 5H ever did. They hit the right chord sometimes and their first album was solid enough as a whole, but this feels like such a triumphant debut the more I listen!

Posted by: Meekul 14th January 2018, 11:38 PM

Projected to debut at #2 in the USA with overall sales of 90,000, expected to be an incredibly close battle and with promotion Camilla could edge it. 'Havana' is also expected to climb to #1 in the Billboard so she could be on for number one in both charts in the USA ohmy.gif

That's seriously great news for her wub.gif

I really like the album a lot!
Was at first skeptical, but the album surprised me!
Hopefully the single on there will be huge! (Except for Havana, because it's a big hit right now)

She Loves Control soundbed on CBB tonight *.*

Posted by: Cremey 15th January 2018, 10:55 PM

I had such high hopes for this and she didn’t disappoint 😍
Nothing quite reaches the sheer gold that is ‘Havana’ (probably my favourite song of the last five years..) but there are so many highs, ‘She Loves Control’, ‘Into It’ and ‘All These Years’ especially. Just wish it was a bit longer.

So glad to see how well she’s doing 👏🏻

Posted by: Cremey 15th January 2018, 10:59 PM

Oh and the Spanish part in ‘Inside Out’ oh my LORD heart.gif

She Loves Control needs to be a huge summer smash wub.gif

Posted by: jase. 15th January 2018, 11:32 PM

I actually think I'd go with 'Real Friends' as the next single, then push 'She Loves Control' over the summer months.

Posted by: kye 16th January 2018, 01:41 AM

i still can't believe they didn't put 'crying in the club' on as track 11.
i could understand if they wanted it to be just 10 tracks but like who genuinely thought that putting the radio edit of 'never be the same' at the end would be better than 'CITC'? it's not like they're worlds apart.

Posted by: Liаm 16th January 2018, 11:59 AM

I've just been queuing CITC, IHQ and OMG at the end of the album when I've listened, but still it is a bit ridiculous to leave them off. I know CITC didn't really smash in th US but it was a solid hit here (79 inthe biggest songs of the year!), and top 50 inthe US wasn't THAT bad. But oh well.

With a few listens of the album, Something's Gotta Give and Consequences are the big growers for me, but the best are still the two singles, She Loves Control, Inside Out and Into It which are all solid 10s wub.gif I think Never Be The Same might be my fave, what a song.

Posted by: Jay ☆ 16th January 2018, 01:42 PM

A really solid album, no duds at all!

I feel that Real Friends could do really well as a single, and of course She Loves Control. Inside Out and Into It could work too! An album packed with potential hits. wub.gif

I find the ballads to be really strong too, nothing dull. Consequences in particular is beautiful. heart.gif

Posted by: Joe. 17th January 2018, 10:14 AM

I've given this album a few tries and I find it all a bit...dull..

Posted by: Midge 17th January 2018, 10:48 AM

I don't think "Real Friends" would make a good single... unless it was given some sort of single mix.

I might give this album a listen, it's only just over 30 minutes which is manageable. Could add "Crying In The Club" and "OMG" easily as bonus tracks.

Posted by: Dexton 17th January 2018, 11:06 AM

Yeah Real Friends wouldn’t do much commercially without some form of remix... inb4 Camila Cabello & Ed Sheeran Real Friends Duet

Posted by: JosephSivan 17th January 2018, 11:52 AM

I think Real Friends could definitely be a hit! The public love these acoustic ballads, if it were by Ed Sheeran it'd be a top 5 hit at the very least. That and She Loves Control are the perfect singles in whichever order for me, but Inside Out and Into It could do well too.

Posted by: Bjork 17th January 2018, 04:59 PM

she loves control has already been added to the hot hits spotify playlist!!

Posted by: Theo. 17th January 2018, 07:42 PM

Her live performances of "Havana" have really outshined every other popstar in the last 12 months. I'm still disappointed that she never did something like this for the UK but obviously the studios are much smaller and the budget for UK TV is a lot lower than the US.

I like what I've heard of the album so far but there isn't a song that I'm drawn back to other than the singles. I love the Spanish interlude on "Inside Out" although I expected a lot more Latin influence across the whole album.

Posted by: Juliano 17th January 2018, 10:27 PM

That performance was everything. It looks like we could get quite a few album tracks charting worldwide at this point, She Loves Control obviously taking the reigns, but interestingly Consequences has had a pretty strong impact too which is great but I didn't predict that, I would have thought Inside Out would click more.

Posted by: Liаm 17th January 2018, 10:40 PM

That and her Jimmy Fallon perf of NBTS are astounding, I think we're definitely witnessing the next huge popstar blossoming. She's just incredible but it's so effortless and I think that's key in being a big popstar in the vein of Rihanna or Beyocne.

Posted by: Dart 21st January 2018, 09:46 PM

Wonder what 5H's overall totals are over there?

Posted by: Liаm 22nd January 2018, 09:34 PM

I think both their first two albums are platinum from Album Equivalent Units but have sold about 400k pure sales together, and let's be real I doubt the self titled has added much kink.gif

Posted by: JosephSivan 22nd January 2018, 09:37 PM

So proud of her, I always thought she had the potential to be big but I'm so pleased she's achieving such huge success with both Havana and the album. I really can't stop playing the latter, each track comes into its own with repeated plays and I don't think there's a single dud on it wub.gif

Around 50k pure I think but that's irrelevant, pure album sales are even more dead in the US than they are here. I wonder if it's made it to double figures (000's) here ;o

A UK academy tour has been announced for June. She's only playing three shows at the moment though, I expect they'll add more. Tickets go on sale tomorrow.

I love Camila's voice, I've noticed it's special since The X Factor. I predicted one day she would go on her own without Fifth Harmony, and she did. My favourite is Havana (she's was singing about her hometown Havana, Cuba...how's lovely "Haft of my heart is in Havana oh na na..."), but Bad Things was not bad either.

I'm genuinely surprised at how decently this has sold given shes not exactly a massive household name.

I am hoping for CC2 she goes down the Little Mix route of scrapping the original album and then it surfacing with some amendments a la Get Weird/Glory Days as I genuinely preferred the sound she was going for with Crying In The Club/I Have Questions.

The most conventionally attractive member of the biggest US girlgroup of recent years goes on to have success as a solo. Shocking!

Camila was always biding her time to be the star. She had everything going for her. Fair play to her for doing well but it's not exactly a big surprise.

Well it's not like being so conventionally attractive helped her to smash out of the blocks with Crying in the Club tongue.gif She could've quite easily flopped all round but good material (notably Havana of course) and positive publicity has really helped her out.

Posted by: Rossco 17th February 2018, 10:58 AM

I don’t understand the love for her personally. Her voice is incredibly weak and relies far too much on auto tune. Her performance on GN last night was dreadful, her vocals were horrible and was pretty much just using the backing track. Her whole persona just radiates bitch to me. Crying in the club was a tune but the material since is below par in my opinion.

Posted by: Bjork 17th February 2018, 11:25 AM

100% opposite, though she was sweet and super funny and charming in the interview part
performance was great too , great dancing, course you need a backing track if you do choreography

as taylor says
haters gonna hate

Posted by: SGrey 17th February 2018, 11:34 AM

I agree her persona isn’t the most appealing. I’m disappointed by the GN performance was vocally it wasn’t one her best moments and was nowhere as good as the American performances she’s done.

Posted by: Dexton 17th February 2018, 11:42 AM

Maybe she just wasn’t feeling up to it? I haven’t heard the GM performance, but maybe she was tired or sick or something. Would explain more why she performed Havana and not Never Be The Same, which is a bit more vocally demanding to sing than the former

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 17th February 2018, 02:38 PM

I think she's become far more likeable as a personality since becoming a solo artist. She's pretty cool.

Posted by: Jonjo 17th February 2018, 06:29 PM

Posted by: BigMixer 18th February 2018, 01:47 PM

So what is the capacity of these venues she's doing? 3k - 5k, I assume?

Posted by: cqmerqn 18th February 2018, 07:43 PM

Sounding great on Dancing On Ice!! First time I’ve seen her perform live since Crying In The Club on BGT. She’s got better!

Posted by: SGrey 18th February 2018, 08:59 PM

3-6K on average I think - the gaps in between and lack of European dates is deliberate I think to see how she’d fare with the current dates so they could (and should) announce more. I am really liking the radio edit of Never Be The Same but my goodness she needs to enlist some better sound people as that’s two performances in three days which should have been brilliant but have been let down by poor sound and microphone drama.gif

Posted by: jjake 18th February 2018, 10:37 PM

brixton academy is 6,0000...

why didn’t she book the bloody o2?

that’s her level and capability

Posted by: cqmerqn 18th February 2018, 10:40 PM

Don’t think she could’ve sold out the O2 but should’ve booked for somewhere with at least 10K. Maybe her team are underestimating her! She’s also going to appeal to the casual public due to Havana being such a hit.

Posted by: Theo. 18th February 2018, 11:17 PM

I think they're right to go with academies. Yes, they'll sell out because her music appeals to casual fans but they're not going to pay upwards of £50 to see her because "Havana" bops.

Harry Styles is in a similar situation and he's not sold out his tour and he has the whole 1D fanbase (which is bigger than 5H's) who should be buying tickets.

I got 2 standing Brixton tickets the other day wub.gif

Posted by: Midge 19th February 2018, 12:21 AM

I genuinely think this is a nailed-on top 5 hit both here and in the US. SO stupid if they waste it!

in the US, Never be the same it's still #2 on airplay, they have to let it die first

but I agree it could be a huge huge hit in both UK & US

Posted by: Jack 18th June 2018, 08:07 PM

I think 'Inside Out' could be a hit as well and she could even push one of the ballads - maybe 'Real Friends' or 'In The Dark' around winter, there is so much potential with this album, it'd be such a shame to see it go to waste.

Posted by: Jade 18th June 2018, 08:12 PM

She would be daft to skip over 'She Loves Control', during album release week it made the top 40 so the demand is already there! Great song as well so my fingers are crossed. Sometime soon would be ideal as it's definitely a song suited for summer.

Posted by: JosephAvery 18th June 2018, 08:14 PM

She Loves Control for the summer and Real Friends in the winter with an X Factor performance would be perfect and could really help the album continue selling!

the only worrisome thing is that awful sangria wine track
hope they don't push that over <she loves control

Yeah, I'm holding out hope that they're just waiting for NBTS to be done in the US, which it pretty much is now. If we don't hear anything by the end of the month I'll be concerned, and if they do push 'Sangria Wine' instead I'll be majorly disappointed laugh.gif

Just fantastic. Being only ten tracks too meant no filler.

None of the other 5H girls could manage an album the way she did if they ever get to release one lol.

She really was the star of that band. The only one with any sort of spark / individuality. I wasn’t at all surprised when she took off and I think next era will only be bigger for her tbh.
