All the talk of ‘Te Amo’ for this round of AFSC (no ty x) got me thinking: it was released 10 years ago ohmy.gif Next week exactly will mark it’s anniversary. You could say this sort of marked the end of an era for Rih, as it’s the final single before ‘Only Girl’ elevated her into that level of huge we know from Rihanna today, obvs GGGB was massive but Rated R underperformed a bit certainly at the time!

What this might be remembered for amongst the GP is being Rihanna’s first (and certainly as a single her only?) exploration of same sex themes. I do admire that it touches on female sexuality without being slightly dodgy lyrically like other songs of that nature.

As for the song? Hmm, I don’t dislike it and I enjoy it from time to time but I’d say it’s the worst on ‘Rated R’. I get why they those it as it’s catchy but it doesn’t give me a lot as a song compared to the rest of the album. It’s still a 7.5 don’t get me wrong laugh.gif

What do y’all think? Will you be baking a birthday cake for ‘Te Amo’ at the weekend? cheer.gif

Such a criminally underrated single in Rih's discography. cheeseblock.png The production. wub.gif

It has such a summery vibe to it as well. It makes me nostalgic! Definitely one of Rih's most unique singles imo.
