This looks amazing. Definitely planning to pre-order to get it on release, always been more into Nintendo games and doubling up as both a home and portable console looks so cool.
Looks amazing! And a new Zelda game coming too <3
Looks great but I just bloody bought a Wii U I may wait until like Q4 next year, to see if it's worth getting game wise but it does look great and very versatile, plus it looks like it will really rectify one major flaw of the Wii U - the awful resolution and graphics on the gamepad. There are rumbles of a Pokemon game with Kalos and Alola on this and I am definitely needing that when it's out
This looks cool, I'm gonna miss the dual screen design of the DS and 3DS though.
Confirmed to be out on March 3rd, but £280 sounds a bit steep. And Mario Kart doesn't arrive until the end of April..
Will definitely be buying this. Paying a deposit on the 8th which is only £20 but it will be from the second batch of console orders from game. It seems to be filling up its 2million quota quite fast if I'm honest but I've also heard that Nintendo have requested another million for launch day from their suppliers. I'm super excited to get this though.
Also apparently The Switch is so far selling more units than the PS4 was at its same point in its preordering stage but I'm sure this is probably more to do with the fact that people through the Wii U was just an upgrade to the Wii and we're waiting for the next proper console!
Anyone preordered or paid a deposit? I've paid my deposit and pay the rest on the 3Rd when I pick it up.
I'm going to shell out for the new Zelda. Beyond ecstatic for it.
Also I've noticed the hype for the switch keeps going up and up. It can only be a good thing. It ultimately seems, at the moment at least that Nintendo has manages to convey exactly what they want this to be and people are eating it up!
I think I'll wait until later this year, when there are more games. At the minute it's just Zelda and the new Mario Kart so I might wait until Christmas time or so when there's bound to be big name Q4 games.
Let us know how you find it James. I didn't pre-order in the end but I might go out in search of one this weekend on the chance not everywhere has already sold out at the minute. I'm not too bothered until Mario Kart arrives though.
Zelda has a lot of hype but I don't remember playing a Zelda game before and I'm a bit unsure whether it would be my thing or not.
I've got it right now. Walking home with that and Zelda! I'm ecstatic!
Zelda is amazing. I played it for 6 hours straight. Haven't gotten very far mind you but it is challenging compared to previous entries. I assumed I'd really want the pro controller to replace the one they give you but I have wee hands so it actually a breeze to use and I've had no problems with either of the Joy cons either.
Will possibly invest in the charging joycon grip since they give you a bog standard non charging one too
The only thing that is slightly annoying about it is lack of Bluetooth earphones support etc. Only wired headphones are compatible although I am going to buy a Bluetooth headphone jack adapter and hope for the best.
Switching from TV to on the go is a breeze and it really couldnt be any better than it is right now Minus the lack of Bluetooth headset support.
Has anyone bought one yet?
Apparently it managed double in the UK what the Wii U sold in its debut weekend which is impressive but even mores for the fact that the switch launched in march and the Wii U in the Xmas period.
Nintendo America have also Saif that it's the fastest selling Nintendo console in history for the first two days in its debut too!
I'm so glad I bought one and tbh Zelda was definitely a justified reason to purchase it
I went into my local Game store yesterday and put a deposit down ready for when they get more stock. I'd be happy to wait a few weeks until Mario Kart arrives, but I want to be prepared and don't want to be unable to get one when that time comes.
I always used to buy Nintendo consoles on the first day...but I can't justify it until more games come out. £60 seems very steep for new games too, like the SNES days!
It does look like a fantastic bit of kit though!
I might get one
I bought a Wii U straight away and ended up barely using it so holding off on buying this for now at least.
I thought the Wii was a brilliant idea. The Wii U was a little pointless really, I mainly bought it to play the Mario series games but I rarely ever use it. Nintendo 64 was my favourite, it's home to my all-time favourite games too; Banjo-Kazooie.
I really miss the Official Nintendo Magazine, I haven't really heard or read that much about Switch, as I never really search for the information online, but I used to feel much more informed when I read about it in print!
Nintendo 64 was my favourite too, definitely the console I've used the most. It's 20 years this month since it was released in Europe. Super Mario 64, Mario Kart, Ocarina of Time, Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64... all incredible. I think in all I may have had approaching 30 games for it.
I skipped the GameCube, but have a Wii & a Wii U. I bought the latter 3 years ago... I wouldn't say I regret purchasing it, but I didn't use it as much as I probably should have done to truly warrant the purchase, and I only have 4 games for it. Mario Kart 8 & Super Mario 3D World are both fantastic though.
As for the Switch, I'm really keen to get one, but I think I'll have to hold off until nearer Christmas time. Breath of the Wild looks incredible, I'm itching to play it! I wish that they'd introduced more new courses to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe though, to make buying it again somewhat more worthwhile.
The Wii was good but I think Nintendo's problem usually is that they don't get that many third party games, I always seem to get their consoles for the same few franchinses - Pokemon, Mario and Zelda. The Wii was quite good for party games and stuff because of the motion controls, but there was so much shovelware chucked on for some little studio to make a quick buck as well because of it. I think the motion controls were a great idea but gimmicky is probably something I'd use to describe it at times, if tentatively. There were a lot of really good series and games that had awful Wii ports because the motion controls just didn't work... And then when games didn't use sufficient motion control they'd be slated for it Mario Kart Wii was absolutely essential for its period though and I did enjoy my Wii. The Wii U was just kind of the crap version, I regret buying one really I only got it last September as a bit of an impulse with my student loan, I only have Mario Kart 8, Wind Waker HD, Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed and Super Mario World 3D (as well as old Wii games from home and ones my housemates have brought) oops. All great games but the Wii U just never had that amazing defining game or anything really compelling to get one for other than the couple of Mario games really, as you could just play the original Wind Waker and Sonic is on other platforms.
As for the N64, I was more of a PS1 guy but there were solid good games on it! Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie, Pokemon Stadium/Snap, Majora's Mask and Ocarina Of Time are my faves. Super Mario 64 is hella overrated oops.
I kind of want a Switch but my problem is I have a PS4 for all the indie gems (for example Yooka Laylee and Snake Pass coming later this year, and the Shantae series which I got on here instead of Wii U) and Nintendo has never really been a haven for 3rd party games. So I'm holidng off on buying it until Super Mario Odyssey and the rumoured Pokemon Sun and Moon third version at least, I may get Breath Of The Wild on Wii U as a last hurrah maybe or just wait to get that too. There's the new Sonic projects as well, but they'll probably go on PS4 as well. The price of new games is ridic though, I suppose with an amazingly crafted game like Breath Of The Wild, fair, but for Mario Kart 8 without even having extra tracks or bloody Bomberman it's a bit of a pisstake. It sounds silly to get a Switch just for Pokemon Stars (I'll of course get other games) but I think if the rumour turns out to be untrue I'll hold off getting a Switch until perhaps there's some great deal sometime next year and I can get a good deal on it, like I did with my PS4.
this is doing incredibly well...im actually going to get one i think and i've been out of the game (no pun) since the wii
mario kart deluxe 💕
http://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Nintendo-Switch/Super-Mario-Odyssey-1173332.html is out today!
I still don't own a Switch, but I need to because this game looks incredible! 😭
Odyssey and Breath of the Wild are constantly being reviewed 10/10.
Edge did their 100 games of all time and Breath of the Wild was #1 already. I NEED A SWITCH NOW.
Obsessed with Breath of the Wild (already named the greatest game ever) and Mario Odyssey
Gah this console is everything.
I got a Switch for Christmas! I've only played a bit of Mario Kart 8 so far, but I also have Mario Odyssey. I'm not even sure why I've not started it yet because from all the previews I've seen it looks incredible.
I've just got my hands on a Switch a couple of days ago and I am completely in love! I've not had a proper games console since the Wii!! Loving that it can all be done handheld exactly the same as on the big screen. I've only got Sonic Forces so far (which I've nearly completed ) and I have Mario Kart on the way. Mario Odyssey is probably going to be my next purchase I think!
I still haven’t bought one
May have to treat myself to one this year. Although I will just wait until they’re lower in cost.
^ Ooh that's a bargain, well done!
I got mine via Amazon's Black Friday deal, which was for the Neon Blue/Red version + came with a physical copy of Mario Odyssey, for £279.99 overall. So essentially it was a deal that resulted in getting the game for free.
I would have loved this red version of it: https://store.nintendo.co.uk/nintendo-switch-console/nintendo-switch-with-red-joy-con-controllers-super-mario-odyssey/11553478.html if only it had included a physical copy of Odyssey rather than just a download code.
There’s nothing worse than getting a console bundle, expecting to get the physical game, but ends up being a code!
I want to play Super Mario Odyssey so much but I really don't know if I can justify spending so much for a console I likely won't otherwise use much. Hmm ~~ Maybe at some point.
I just splashed on one because Odyssey FOMO has been driving me mad since it came out last year
I bought the Switch last week, finally managed to scrape together enough after saving all year and getting a bit of money for Xmas.
I got the pack direct from Nintendo with Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the carry case and two steering wheels.
It's seriously good, so slick and pretty and the most impressed I've been with a Nintendo console since the N64. The graphics are fantastic, Odyssey is mindblowing, so many clever new ideas but so familiar at the same time. Have only had time to play about 8 or 9 worlds but I'm so impressed and apparently there's so much more to the game once it finishes too.
I've also downloaded a load of demos from the online shop as I can't afford any other games for a while. Looking forward to the proper virtual console getting underway and hopefully a great line-up of games in the future.
This console has so much potential and I hope it's utilised by developers.
I’m going to get this when I get paid in a couple of weeks. Where can I find the best deal?
Also, does it come with one or two controllers?
Thanks! Ooh I spent all my money over Christmas so I need to wait until the 26th 😂
So I bought one today... I’m gonna get bored of this real quick.
You not liking it? What’s wrong?
Idk it’s just kinda boring!
I’m actually tempted to get one just to play casually, but I’m equally thinking about getting a cheap Wii with Wii Fit and Wii Sport.
Wii is better!
I returned this to store.. got my £280 back
Why was it boring?
Was it the games? The control methods?
It depends what you want in a games console really. PS4/Xbox One competitor this is not, but for a casual gamer like myself who just wants addictive games to pass the time then this is perfect.
I've been tempted to buy one for some time... but aside from Mario Kart and the other Mario game, I'm not sure what I'd play...
Anyone got any recommendations for other good games? I'm not one for serious in depth gaming sessions, more light escapism if that helps pin down what I'd be looking for.
Ah thanks... I think that's how I may feel about it too - I'm not seeing much past the two Mario games so think I'll save my money.
I must admit that I am kinda turned off by the prospect of golf and farming(!) but I appreciate the recommendations Dircadirca
If you like Zelda etc then it could be a great console. But it just wasn’t for me.
I’ll stick with my PS4
Just pre-ordered Crash Bandicoot! It's finally coming to Switch in July
Getting Crash next month.
Got Paladins and Fortnite this month with Wolfenstein predownloaded for the 29th. I really can't wait to play it.
My copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe came today and im so happy I love me some Mario Kart
Smash Bros Ultimate Direct starting in 2 minutes!
I watched the direct. Killing off Luigi, not showing him okay at any point and then tweeting he was fine! Lol.
Nintendos Online Service launches 30th September.
It's like £3.99 per month
£6.99 for 3 months
£17.99 for a year.
https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Nintendo-Switch/Nintendo-Switch-Online/Nintendo-Switch-Online-1183143.html
I would like a few more extras, I've played most of those NES games loads of times, but I know I'll pay for the online regardless because it's a very reasonable price.
I hope they add more free games in the future though.
I really can't wait for Super Mario Party, Pokémon Let's Go and Smash Bros Ultimate coming in the next few months. I only have 3 games for the Switch so far so it'll be nice to get some new ones.
https://twitter.com/NintendoUK/status/1037339801614249984
There is a Nintendo Direct tomorrow night at 11pm!
Hopefully we get more details on the online service.
If anyone had seen about the Direct, it's been delayed due to the extremely powerful earthquake In Japan.
Just bought a switch in preparation for Super Mario Party and another set of controllers are $100 CAD each?!?! Are you having a laugh?!?!
I also downloaded Mario Kart. Except, I'm the only one that can play it because it requires both the controllers that came in the box.
Ooo yes, just noticed that. Thank you
LOVE the NES Emulator that you can play with Online. I beat the 4th (I think) dungeon in The Legend of Zelda last night and I adore this game. I've never played anything from this franchise before but I'm really considering buying Breath of the Wild by myself for Christmas not only because it's a Zelda game, but also because I've heard nothing but praise about it.
Decent Nintendo Direct I thought - looking forward to Dragon Quest and I may possibly get the new Fire Emblem!
Head of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aime has retired, but his replacement is called Doug Bowser!
What a fitting name
(definitely going to miss the Reggie memes tho)
That Yoshi game seems really cute so I might get that one, providing it is not a short game. I hope the Pokémon game coming out this year is gonna be good too but I have low hopes really.
I have really high hopes for Pokemon this year to be honest. They said this will be the first 'proper' Pokemon game on Switch and will have the best graphics for the series so far.#
The Pokemon CEO also said it will be something 'longtime fans have been waiting for'.
The Pokemon social medias are counting down a region every day - there's a rumor the Gen 8 announcement will be on the 27th!
The Yoshi game is really cute. It's a bit on the easy side but to get 100% completion is still a challenge. I was really on the fence about getting it but I'm glad I did get it.
I love the Yoshi game, that and Super Mario Bros. have been all I’ve played this year so far tbh. A little bit of Smash plus I bought Undertale (though haven’t played much yet). More games are coming to the Switch which is fantastic - especially looking forward to Assassins Creed just as a non-cartoony, adult game which the console seriously lacks right now. I have a Resident Evil game which is decent but graphically sucks and the game itself isn’t too huge (tbf it is a DS game simply ported to the Switch plus it was only like $11)
I’m looking forward to Luigi’s Mansion 3. Just bought the Yoshi game which is quite good but too easy. Might get Mario Maker 2 and Crash Bandicoot kart racing game.
Can't wait for Crash Team Racing, I'll be getting it on Switch rather than PS4 so multiplayer will be easier.
I NEED a release date for Animal Crossing. Ideally it'll be in July/August so that it'll be perfectly in between Yoshi and Pokémon.
CTR had a whole story mode as well doesn’t it? Racing through the different bosses like challenges
Yeah, very similar to Diddy Kong Racing in that respect, obviously it's hardly a full on engrossing story but you can only do so much with a kart racer anyway and it doesn't hurt to have something.
OMG the Yoshi game is absolutely iconic (and it might just be that me and Jack are bad at it but I'm struggling with the daisies haha)
I had NO Idea they were porting Saints Row 3 wtffff, just pre-ordered I am so hyped
Wow really? I had no idea but I will definitely be getting that! It's good to see more & more games getting confirmed ports.
Currently obsessed with Stardew Valley, I'm only on day 21 but I'm loving it. It started off a bit slow and is still working up but I'm enjoying it a lot.
10th May, it's £4 off if you pre-order so I went for it
All the ports are great I agree, some older games I can finally play or play again with flexibility to be portable, I picked up Final Fantasy X too as I've still never got around to that and really need to.
Saw Lotti has joined the Switch club. A wise choice if self isolation means you have loads of free time. What Switch games would you recommend at the moment for any new players?
I really enjoyed Captain Toad Treasure Tracker - it's pretty easy really but I was impressed by how well they switched things up within a small environment.
I'm a sucker for games that are probably aimed at kids but I like the light heartedness of them - I've got Super Mario Odyssey and Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze to play through next Oh and some Rayman game that I actually think I've played before on a different platform but am still enjoying all over again.
If you want to get your teeth into something big and story based, Final Fantasy X's remaster! Also recommend Pokemon (Sword and Shield is not a bad entry point but Let's Go Pikachu/Eeevee as much as I dislike it is a good casual entry point), Smash Ultimate and Mario Kart for "lighter" plays.
For an intense/challenge and expansive game series Fire Emblem has had me hooked for months now. It's probably my favourite Switch game away from Breath of the Wild (which will never be touched).
As of today I have the following games for the Switch
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Super Mario Odyssey
- Splatoon 2
- Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
- Super Mario Party
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
- Yoshi's Crafted World
- Pokémon Shield
In a few days to be joined by 'Animal Crossing: New Horizons', of course.
Still not ruling out the possibility that I will ever buy 'Breath of the Wild' in the future . I've just never played a Zelda game so I've been on the fence about getting that one since forever.
I’m sure I will do... I loved the previous Donkey Kong platform game on Wii(?)
Any more recommendations for fun games for one player, please share! What was Yoshi like?
In terms of platformers, the Shantae series is soooo underrated, it's a decent challenge at times too.
I might add Donkey Kong to my list too, it looked interesting but I've always put it off - but I might have more time at home soon
I bought Pokemon Mystery Dungeon with some leftover birthday money the other day. I'm not too far into it yet but I'm enjoying it a lot, I'm feeling very nostalgic although I would have just as much loved a brand new Mystery Dungeon game feature more recent Pokemon too. I love how much effort has been put into remakes lately but I'd enjoy new content even more.
Don't Starve on the Switch is an amazing port also - easy to control and has the exact same feel as the PC version. Fully recommend.
I also can't recommend enough Link's Awakening. Breath of the Wild is a brilliant game in its own right but you need to be committed to a game like that, it's a huge expansive world with an endless stream of things to do but sometimes that thought is a bit daunting for casual gamers. Link's Awakening is a Zelda game just as much but I found it a lot lighter and easier to enjoy whilst still having lots of challenges. There's a solid story and amazing artwork. It's very different to BoTW whilst still being a TLOZ game- just like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is very different to Sword/Shield whilst still being a Pokemon game.
I'm not huuuugely feeling the new Mystery Dungeon I think I'm underlevelled and I just got to the point where you first have to leave town, I swear the original was never this hard?? The nostaliga is great and the new art style is cute but it's just frustrating at the minute I have to keep using the Pelipper post office to rescue myself with my own team but then I have to go up like 7 floors with my better Pokemon then carry on with the rest as my Torchic and Totodile who just keep dying on that floor anyway D:
hello finally found this thread!! i have mario kart 8, spyro trilogy and have pre-ordered animal crossing!!
i’ve copied lolita without realising
i have zelda, mario kart, smash bros, animal crossing and pokemon shield all on their way!!
can’t wait to live my life vicariously through animal crossing
Oh my goodness, I was just browsing the e-shop and my favourite game on the Amiga, James Pond II: Robocod, is available!!!!!! It's probably awful without the nostalgia but I have to get it!
Oh and I've just seen they have Okami on there too... I remember playing that and quite enjoying it, despite it not being my usual kind of thing.
That's another great thing about the Switch, there's quite a few random ports of old games that you probably loved before and can play again!
So Okami now has 40% off on the switch store, couldn’t resist at less than a tenner
I've been looking at adding another game to my collection to pass the downtime, I was looking at Animal Crossing, but ended up going with Fire Emblem Three House's instead.
I know nothing about the franchise, so did a bit of research and watched some gameplay on Switch.
Go to buy it, $111 all in.
Great so far.. I'm about 4 hours in and I don't even think I've scratched the surface.
$111 for a Switch game?
I am a Switcher now and have Pokémon: Shield, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing and Crash Bandicoot
I may buy some more games next month. I am underwhelmed with Animal Crossing so far tbh but am loving Crash Bandicoot so much omg but why is it so f***ing difficult??? Was it this hard when I was a kid?
Animal Crossing is quite slow, like I've put 15-20 hours in at this point and still everyone is like "just a bit to go and it gets better", like I've opened up more of my island now so I can do more but I just want a cute island already
I found Crash on the Switch harder tbh I’m not sure why, I think it’s to do with the updated hitboxes making you slide off edges
Animal Crossing does seem very slow to start lmao, every day I get the main tasks completed and end up just having to wait until the next day literally just so they can open my museum, houses, etc. I would time travel but I’d feel guilty
Crash is MUCH harder on Switch, especially the original game.
I read somewhere it’s because originally the games had differing levels of responsiveness and the gravity arc has just been used from CB3 as they couldn’t have different mechanisms within the same game, even though it doesn’t entirely suit the original CB. That makes sense to me as I found CB3 to be by far the easiest of the switch version.
Yeah they unified the physics, which kind of made Crash 1 ridiculous Obviously the game just wasn't built with those physics in mind and whilst most of the time it works, it makes the hard levels from the original (for example Road To Nowhere) infuriatingly hard at times.
Oh I thought it seemed much harder now I know why
Went for the Switch Lite in the end, add me as a friend!
SW-5624-5898-2778
Getting quite addicted to ac now: wish I had more time to dedicate to it! 🙈
So happy I managed to not get stung by a scorpion earlier!
So during lockdown I've completed Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze and Super Mario Odyssey - really enjoyed both. I'd say they were both really inventive in the way the levels were designed, Donkey Kong never felt repetitive for me and I think the difficulty level was about right. Love the hat thing in Mario Odyssey, if only because I despise water levels usually but swimming around as a fish and not worrying about running out of air is far more pleasurable
I’m currently playing Luigi’s Mansion 3. It’s a great game but the controls can let it down at times.
Another Pokemon announcement is coming next week... lots of speculation for Let’s Go Johto
They can shove the worst iteration of the series paired with the worst region and fully keep it, I just want Sinnoh remakes I don't think they'll do that this year alongside the SwSh DLC tho
I’d love Let’s Go for Johto tbh, if anything just to give some more love for the most underrated region
I think it will be Let's Go Johto, but I'd prefer Sinnoh remakes. Either way I'll play both
I wonder who they'd have on the box art for the Johto games? (if they don't go for the legendaries for a 3rd time lol)
Let’s Go Johto will surely be Marill and Togepi right? Other possible Pokémon could be Aipom, Tyrogue, Mareep, Pichu (hopefully not) or Sentret, or have Let’s Go Elekid & Lets Go Magby. But then the Eevee & Pikachu couldn’t evolve in the Kanto games so Let’s Go Umbreon/Espeon for retro GameCube vibes
I recently got a game titled “51 Worldwide Games” for Switch, it’s basically a collection of classic card games, board games and arcade games with local and online modes. I had a similar game long ago for the Nintendo DS called “42 All Time Classics” which was the same sort of thing but without online modes. It’s a good way to introduce you to the rules of games that have been around for decades. I’ve become hooked on playing Yacht Dice which is basically yahtzee which I never played before until now!
I got that too, having spent hours playing 42-All Time Classics in the late 00s. It's a really solid collection, I've spent a lot of time playing Draughts and Connect 4 (both of which I used to love as a child) and the bowling game is also quite enjoyable. Still need to check out over 50% of the games on here though, you certainly get a lot for the money.
I bought it a week or two ago as well, after being unsure how many games there would be that I'd be interested in and by how good the multiplayer would be with only one console. I've been rather impressed and think it's well worth the money, I've enjoyed playing the various Solitaire games on my own and liked learning Mancala, Yacht Dice, Nine Men's Morris and Hare and Hounds with the other half. Have tried and liked just under half the games so far I think, the only one I've played and thought is a bit rubbish in video game format is Ludo.
I just looked at this but I must admit I was expecting it to be under £10 or something so got quite a shock when it was over £30. I guess it's still not too bad per game but it didn't feel like an almost full price game to me.
Dead at them making a fuss over yday's Pokemon Presents as if it was gonna be something proper and it just ended up being a Pokemon League Of Legends clone looooooool
I bought Ring Fit Adventure about two weeks ago but haven't played it yet due to the HEAT. Hope to be getting into it the coming week. I should've bought it earlier in corona times actually when there was really no way to be getting a decent exercise, but alas.
I still play AC daily to check up on visitors.
Just finished Luigi’s Mansion 3. A brilliant game. I’ve also bought Avicii Infector - Encore Edition. If you liked Guitar Hero or Amplitude then you’ll love this!
I am guilty of not playing Animal Crossing at all since like May Non-stop play for weeks then silence, Pokémon Sword had a similar effect on me. Luigi’s Mansion 3 seemed like a fun game but I struggled to get into it at the beginning, I do need to give it another try
I bought Super Mario 3D Allstars as I had 1/2 of a game voucher left to use and it seems good so far, maybe not entirely what I was expecting but it’s fun. I do wish there was more of a co-op aspect to the games though (particularly Galaxy as it does have co-op but a very poor amount). I get that was how the OG games were but adding the option of a second player would go a long way. Me and my girlfriend enjoy playing games together but there isn’t many equal co-op games to play on the Switch when you really look. Plenty of games list 1-2 or 1-4 players but then you actually start playing and the only multiplayer capabilities it really has are a small handful of mini games on the main screen where story etc. remains singleplayer.
Oops. Double post
Picked up Nintendo Switch Sports yesterday.
Bowling still remains the greatest part of the Wii/Nintendo Switch
Sports games.
Me and my fam used to be obsessed with Wii Sports for the WiiU.
How is this one? Bowling and Tennis were always so much fun.
PERSONA 3, 4 & 5!
That's all I can say!
there's a cafe/bar in Stoke Newington called Loading that has Ninetendo Switch players everywhere and you can play. It's so cool.
I’ve been playing Kirby’s Dream Buffet lately after getting and eShop card for Christmas. I’m really enjoying it. Simple and fun game.
I bought myself Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope for a Christmas Gift - great play so far, I’m only an hour or so in.
How’s Kirby’s Dream Buffet? It was on my shortlist.
They now have a game boy expansion pack on the switch with only a few games on there so far. The main ones being Tetris, Super Mario Land 2 and Kirby’s Dream Land
Started and finished Super Mario Land 2 for the first over the weekend. It was quite good. I’m just hoping they add Super Mario Land 1 soon.
I like the way you can choose from the Game Boy/Pocket/Color versions of each games, and have the grid of squares on the screen to make it feel more authentic.
It must be close to 25 years since I last played Super Mario Land 2, just picked it up yesterday and it's still good fun. Has quite a Super Mario World vibe to it.
It’s such a great added feature.
It really is similar to Super Mario World, I started thinking that last week as I was playing it. I think it adds ti the charm for me.
I recently picked up the demo for Octopath Traveller 2. Great Demo on the App Store, it basically allows for 3-hours of gameplay.
I picked Castti and picked up Partito as well. It seems like a fantastic game. I’d like to pick up the full game at some point but the $83.99 Pricepoint is a bit steep.
Do people play Mario Kart, Mario Party or Super Smash Bros here? Tempted to get them but don't want to just end up playing with randoms!
Picked up Super Mario RPG last week and I’m really enjoying it. A very solid game.
I played all of 2mins of the SNES version back on the Wii virtual console like 15 years ago. So it’s basically a new game to me.
Not me in my Stardew Valley era now.
The switch is not the highest selling console ever in Japan and 15 million away from being the highest selling console worldwide. Quite the feat given it's only been just under seven years.
I know it’s a remake but I’m looking forward to Mario vs Donkey Kong next week.
