Insanity is one of my ultimate tracks from the 90s. I remember at the time it was so so hard to get as a single but after a few weeks of waiting my small local record shop finally got it in on cassette and I still have it and later bought the new remix on CD single. At the time I had no idea what the lyrics meant but even when I found out I still adored the song

It's basically about taking drugs right?

I remember loving the follow up Wicked Love too, though that wasn't nearly as successful.
