The success of DWUW and the ARTPOP era as a whole was entirely tarnished by Gaga and the Venus/management firing/nervous breakdown-gate
I think it's no secret what smash hit potential the song had, the fact it did as well as it did without reaching its full airplay potential and with no music video speaks for itself |

Cheek to Cheek pulling in similar sales to ARTPOP says it all really. Hopefully the upcoming era will be handled much better.

Joanne has had some decent staying power.. also The Fame Monster has constantly been in top 200 since the Super Bowl.
Applause seems now much bigger hit than I thought when it came out! |

Joanne has spent 35 weeks on the Billboard Top 200, but looks like it will leave this week, was hoping it could stay until it was 40 weeks on the chart.

It's discounted on Target and her tour starts soon so I'm confident it'll get 40 weeks, maybe even a year on chart. July and August are pretty slow in terms of new albums too.
52 weeks would be fantastic and way beyond my expectations |

I'd be happy for anything over 40 considering I thought it would last less than Artpop/Cheek To Cheek and it's outlasted them both. Also 'Joanne' is at 541k in pure sales, 'C2C' at 750k in pure sales and 'Artpop' at 770k pure sales in the US. However the overall number will be larger due to SPS, but unsure of those figures at the moment. |

Joanne has been charting in BB200 for 44 weeks now, amazing! It'll definitely get a year in.

I mean I'm not here for a fan war because I adore both, but before the eras started I never ever would've imagined Gaga's era being bigger than Katy's! Absolutely delighted for her

Post from Gaga Daily
“Lady Gaga's latest album A Star Is Born with Bradley Cooper makes a smashing debut on the Billboard 200, scoring the singer's fifth consecutive album on the chart. The soundtrack sold 220,000 units in the United States in its first week, exceeding the industry's original projections by over 80% percent. That also bests Gaga's previous effort, Joanne, which opened at No. 1 with 201,000 units in 2016. A Star Is Born becomes Gaga's fifth number one album following Born This Way (2011), ARTPOP (2013), Cheek to Cheek (2014), and Joanne (2016), which breaks her tie with Taylor Swift and makes her the only female artist to top the Billboard 200 five times this decade. “ Wow At ASIB getting higher debut sales than Joanne in the US now as well as the UK. What a day to be a Gaga fan |

"A Star Is Born" already sold more than 900.000 copies (yes, it's pure sales) in US.
Platinum is only a question of time, she still sold near 20.000 each week and will reach 1 million in the next month. |
