Swindon Town has parted company with Mark Cooper.

Lost a few players over the summer and hovering above the relegation zone in this division. Not the position we associate with Swindon.

It's great to see Swindon struggling near the bottom of League One. biggrin.gif It serves them right for thinking they'd won the league back in November. laugh.gif

It's amazing to think that Burton might be playing Aston Villa in the Championship next season. ohmy.gif What a fantastic season they're having.

Burton getting promoted to the Championship would be an even bigger achievement than Yeovil's promotion in 2013. An incredible fairytale if it happens.

It has been incredible, the Burton fans must be pinching themselves.

They seem to have kept the rhythm despite a change in manager during the season.

They've even managed it without reverting to their former name of "Nigel Clough's Burton Albion". In his first spell as manager, they were rarely mentioned without his name being attached.

He just kept them static in the conference and he's having an effect already 1 point from 9 and they are getting the jitters - Bradford still 6 points behind them but they need 2 more wins I'd say - still they could have been champions - if Clough stays he will bring them back down next year I'd say - only managed mid table with Derby!

They've been very good this season, especially since January. Burton should join them too biggrin.gif

As for Gillingham they need to win their remaining fixtures to get back in the play-offs, they were pretty solid at the start they were at top of League One at one point.

I went to the Wigan game today and they got absolutely battered. Good to see them win the title though.

Blackpool now in League 2. In 5 seasons they have been relegated 3 times, including the last 2 back to back. Gotta be one of the quickest drops from the top to level 4?

I imagine Portsmouth managed it just as quickly, if not quicker, although of course there were more clear cut reasons for their plight.

Unfortunately Blackpool are on the long list of clubs that have been taken over by someone with no interest in football. There is no shortage of money, but the Oystons won't allow anyone to spend it. There seems to be little hope for Blackpool until the owners either show an interest in the club (rather than eyeing up the potential value of the site for housing or retail) or sell it.

Possibly the smallest club ever in the second tier? Yeovil got there 3 years ago, be interesting to see how they do.

If Clough is still there they will go down IMO.

Easily. Yeovil were always a 'big' non-league club, Burton haven't always been. It's unbelievable to see a club like Burton in the Championship, fair play to them biggrin.gif

Barnsley or Millwall?

For the promotion to the Championship. Who do you want to win today?
