I love that Pretty Little Birds is almost a sequel to Warm Winds. SZA and Isaiah make complete magic every time.
2014 ~ dear God, make me a bird so I can fly far 2017 ~ my wings don't spread like they used to but I wanna fly high with you til we hit the heavens We even had WINGS on the S EP - every project she does is an evolution and a tale of herself and I love the story she has told through them all. So meticulously well thought out. I am in awe. |

Can't get enough of this album. Lyrically it's as perfect as ever - 'Supermodel' in particular. So revealing.
Z > S > Ctrl > See.SZA.Run BUT I can maybe see Ctrl climbing into second soon and I never thought she'd be able to better the top 2. What a f***ing killer back-catalogue. |

I honestly think this is her most consistently brilliant record so far.
Nothing quite touches 'Warm Winds', 'Julia' and 'Ice Moon' levels of greatness for me just yet, but that is because they haven't had time to settle in as much. I can imagine 'Prom', 'The Weekend' and 'Broken Clocks' joining them in time though. It just feels so perfectly executed and wonderfully put together throughout. Apparently there is a full version of 'Wavy' that exists, I need that in my life immediately as it sounds like it could be one of the best of the album if it weren't so short. C'mon SZA, release it! |

Yeah, this is incredible. She's so consistently amazing.
I'm not sure where it stands in relation to he rest of her discography yet. I thought 'Z' would be impossible to beat but this is definitely giving it a run for its money. That James Fauntleroy feature on 'Wavy' 😍 Always love hearing him on things, his voice is such a dream. |

So happy that this managed to hit #1 on the US iTunes Album Chart and is still sat higher than Katy Perry.

This is my album of the year no doubt now it's sunk in. It's not as good as 'Z' but I can probably put it above 'S' now maybe.

Buzzed-about singer/songwriter SZA nets her first top 10 album with the arrival of her debut full-length studio effort, Ctrl, at No. 3. It bows with 60,000 units, of which 25,000 are in traditional album sales. The set was powered by streams, as the title earns 33,000 SEA units (equating to 49.52 million streams for the songs on the album). The remainder of its 60,000-start is comprised of TEA (2,000 units). Ctrl is SZA’s second top 40-charting effort, following the No. 39 peak of her mixtape Z back in 2014.

 Unbelievable, that level of hype straight off the bat would have seemed crazy a few months back when this was in limbo. Talent wins! |
