Basically anything is on the cards but as per usual we need people to actually offer to host xx
(Cody didn't you say you wanted to do a video game music spinoff? That might be interesting and also it's been ages since we have had a spinoff that wasn't a repeated theme so) I might possibly host a spinoff myself some time this year, only done one before and that was quite a while ago at this point. |

I'd quite like to host another spin off at some point soon as this was always the part of BJSC I enjoyed the most as there's always a little bit extra room for creativity etc. Presuming that's okay with the mods, what ideas do people wanna see? Another rendition of something we've done before or something new? I'm gonna rack my own brain as well but I just wanted to check and see if there's any ideas already floating around just looking for a host!

I won't mind another Pride edition tbh!
 I think Rich suggested Collaboration which is a great idea, that allows two countries to work together to present an entry. I also saw Jafet recommending having a contest where the host assigns an artist, which is interesting too. |

I do like the assignment themed contests like worldvision, masquerade etc, I think we'd need to refine a theme for it tho, even more than artists as what kind of artists etc do we go for?
Ooooh ACTUALLY - What if we do an early pride contest but everyone is assigned a colour and they have to find an LGBTQ+ artist who has a song with the colour in the title, or the artist could be the colour even? |

Suddenly I have an idea in mind. Is anyone interested in a Foreign Language spin-off, English be-gone, in August? (I'm aware there were 2 editions done before, so won't mind doing a 3rd edition!)

I love the foreign language spin off! The very first one quite literally changed my life. It had a permanent impact on the type of music I listen to and there are so many songs that I regard as absolutely essential that I know because the first foreign language spin off opened my ears, mind and heart

The WORST songs ever!
The idea is to attempt to send the worst song ever in BJSC history! Under this system you send the song you think is the worst song for this contest that nobody else would ever want to discover and vote using negative points instead of positive for the 10 most disliked entries;So for example; -1 -2 -3 -4 -5 -6 -7 -8 -10 -12 (worst song in the contest) The winner is the song with the MOST negative votes. So the worse the song the better!

sounds like a guilty pleasure contest I was thinking about before
not gonna lie I was planning to return as Why So Sirius for a half-year as I have a bunch of great songs that represent the nation but it seems this spin-off is a great opportunity for this legendary nation to return!

What’s the point tho. BJSC is to find new music. The spin offs are fun but they all have that aim also, just with a slightly different rule book. The point of entering BJSC is that you hopefully find a few songs to add to your library and a few new artists to love. This is the antithesis of that
