next up another mystery page entry, I think it's possibly a Luxembourg part chart from earlier in the year 1972

30. Argent - Hold Your Head Up
29. Peter Straker - Hands Of Dr. Tillany
28. Les Crane - desiderata
27. Melanie - Brand New Key
26. Partridge Family - It's One Of Those Nights
25. Bread - Baby I'm A Want You
24. - Loving You Ain't Easy

The last one is a brilliant beatles-esque minor hit, long-forgotten by Pagliaro. The Partridge track is written b y Tony Romeo, as were most of their best songs (and a Brotherhood Of Man goodie, Oh Boy The Mood Im In), Bread were churning out classic song after classic song at this time, Argent brilliant stuff (Fluff Freeman played it months earlier so it had made myc harts the year before), Les Crane, well, lets not be unkind...

So that leaves Peter Straker, I recall it had sweeping strings, instrumental in large parts (or all of it) and I really wanted it. I still have no tape or vinyl version, and these are the sort of obscurities that have yet to appear on online sites for sale. Doh!

penultimately, I have one more I cant match with BBC charts (I used to note the BBC charts on tuesdays if I could catch it, and assumed the rest in the pad were all them) - its a few bits no bobs:

21 Hollies
22 Fortunes
23 Slade
24 CCS
25 Neil Young
26 Chiffons
27 New Seekers
28 Badfinger
29 Olivia Newton John
30 Chi-Lites

so, maybe thats a bonus Luxembourg part chart. Ive also got one more complete chart predating the other 1972 full charts which I think is also a luxembourg chart (amazing grace at 1) so I'll run that one to close this thread later in the week:)

Though I think there 1973/74 charts on the web already I may just have a quick cross-check with mine as I have complete runs of 73/74 - I switched to anew note pad, BBC on the front, luxembourg on the back so its all methodically listed. pity (sort of) they arent needed!:)

...and so the final one: very little info, and it tails off into just artists as it got late (I'm guessing) but i'm thinking its the BBC chart with Ramsey Lewis, Hurricane Smith, Paul Simon just outside the top 30.

30 Oh Babe What Would You Say - Hurricane Smith
29. It's One Of Those Nights - Partridge Family
28. Hold Your Head Up - Argent
27. Me & Julio Down By The Schoolyard - Paul Simon
26. Wade In The Water - Ramsey Lewis
25. I Am What I Am - Greyhound
24. Alone Again - Gilbert O'Sullivan
23. at the club - Drifters
22. Heart of gold - Neal Young
21. Beg Steal or Borrow - New Seekers
20. Runnin' Away - Sly & Family Stone
19. Beautiful Sunday - Daniel Boone
18. Open Up - Mungo Jerry
17. Take A look Around - Temptations
16. Rocket Man - Elton John
15. Crying Laughing Loving Lying - Labi Siffre
14. Without You - Nilsson
13. Tumbling Dice - Rolling Stones
12. Johnny Nash
11. David Cassidy
10. Johnny Cash
9. Marmalade
8. Jo Jo Gunne
7. Chiffons
6. T.Rex
5. Fortunes
4. Elvis Presley
3. Ringo Starr
2. Vicky L
1. RSDGB

the last 2 were basically scribble, so I must have been half asleep...
songs to the last few can be deduced from previous postings.

Hope that was fun!
