Vanessa Carlton was supposed to release a new album this year, but due to her pregnancy it has been delayed till next year (probably summertime she says). Can't wait.
Wikipedia says:
Carlton announced that she had returned to Real World Studios in late 2012 to commence work on a new album related to euphoria. She has since clarified on Twitter that "Euphoria" is not the actual name of the new album, nor is it straightforward electronically fabricated.
In late 2013 on a small tour, Carlton teased new songs "Willow" "House Of Seven Swords" "A Matter Of Time" "Take It Easy" and "Unlock The Lock".
On February 28, 2014, Carlton announced that she has finished recording the new album, which is ten tracks in length and will be titled "Liberman".
On April 11, 2014, Carlton stated that "Liberman" was being mastered.
In an interview with CBS News published on June 11, 2014, Carlton called the album "kind of lush, trippy and beautiful...You really feel like you're falling into a rabbit hole of sounds." About the album, she says: "It's pretty short. It's 10 songs. It's meant to be listened through your headphones."
Sounds like it's going to be in a similar vein to her previous album Rabbits on the Run, which is great, as I completely adore that album.
I can't believe I made this thread almost a year ago and the album has yet to be released lolol
She's considered a pop artist so I put it in here but it sounds like this album is going to be more on the indie side of things. Vanessa says it's an "escape type of album, where you put it on and you feel like you're in this dreamy state". Sounds wonderful.

Oooh. I loved her last album. Wish Michelle Branch would go indie.
'Rabbits on the Run' is gorge, this seems almost like a continuation of that. Michelle Branch I would love to check out further, I know a few of her songs and they're gooood.
Carousel is a tune.
I only wish Heroes & Thieves would receive a digital release in the UK.
The Deluxe edition of this arrived in the post this morning My day was made. I don't normally get CD formats anymore, but I wasn't able to get the digital format for several reasons lol.
This is stunning btw. I love that she decided to go in this kind of direction, which really began with the previous album. It's still generally piano/vocal based, but her voice has really matured and these songs are so captivating and beautiful that it just warms me. So much more atmospheric. 'A Thousand Miles' is probably my favourite song ever but she has come a long way since those earlier eras. I find her to be so underappreciated these days, hope that can somehow change as this is a fantastic piece of work.
She's breastfeeding her daughter on one of the images in the booklet, interesting
