Two singles intended for Rita's 2nd album at one point, which of these do you prefer?

I'd say 'Poison' was my favourite at the time but I prefer 'Body On Me' in the long run

Body On Me has aged SO well I'd rather Chris Brown wasn't on it for moral reasons but he doesn't ruin the song on a track level, and it was SUCH a tour highlight!
Poison feels... a little undercooked to me and always has. The chorus doesn't hit the spot |

I never got into 'Body On Me' at the time but the few times I've listened to it I have enjoyed it (it sounds good now) but Poison is so underrated, a gem in her discography
Fun fact: My 60-year-old biology teacher absolutely ADORED Poison and like no other pop songs for some reason This post has been edited by Andrew.: May 23 2020, 06:39 PM |

Both are quite underrated imo! I think at time of release I slept on Body On Me and since it has grown well and is a very solid single! It should've gone top 10 imo. Chris Brown is also bearable on this song :') Poison is a song I know is not her greatest output and doesn't hold a candle to the best of other UK popstars but I have a soft spot for it - the bridge is brilliant even if the chorus is a bit one-dimensional! I have voted Poison but it does change quite a bit.

Poison for sure This was such a MOMENT on tour for me.
Body on Me is great and I've appreciated it more since tour and with repeated listens, but Poison just has that edge. |
