NEW 59p

Matt Terry - The Thing About Love
Mabel - Finders Keepers
RAYE - Decline wub.gif

Posted by: Joe. 1st December 2017, 12:09 AM

They actually remembered to put Rita in the 59p batch this week...if they’d done this last week it would have made the 400 odd sales needed for #1.

Posted by: MishaB 1st December 2017, 12:10 AM

Beyoncé sounds so angelic on Ed Sheeran’s Perfect. I think she’ll give the song the push it needs to be number 1... could be wrong though.

Posted by: cqmerqn 1st December 2017, 12:12 AM

It’s awful

It’s awful

No way. I don’t even like Ed Sheeran, but they both sound great and it’s got a great melody.

Yeah Ed/Bey is horrid

Jax Jones to smash with 'Breathe' please wub.gif

Posted by: cqmerqn 1st December 2017, 12:35 AM

Oh, Wolves and Let You Down are also 59p.

Lol at the Christmas releases this week and most are remakes of the usual classics!

Posted by: ___∆___ 1st December 2017, 01:27 AM

Glad Matt Terry has joined the 59p club - it’s held up quite well on iTunes so would like it to become a hit as I can’t see him getting anything else from his album off the ground!

Posted by: .MIKE. 1st December 2017, 01:28 AM

Beyonce has made perfect, perfect! Number 1 until Christmas please!

Posted by: ChristmasEve201 1st December 2017, 01:28 AM

Wow, someone who actually agrees with me. Was starting to think I was going crazy.

It’s doing well on iTunes.

#48 Ed Sheeran (and Beyoncé)
#53 Louis Tomlinson

Posted by: dll 1st December 2017, 01:53 AM

The harmonies, especially on the last chorus, are great. But Beyonce's verse sucks. It's like she didn't even try with her vocal delivery.

Posted by: MishaB 1st December 2017, 02:27 AM

I don’t know if anyone else has realised, but Perfect sounds nearly identical to Ave Maria in some parts. I’m starting to think that’s why he asked her to be on the song, because she could definitely sue him for that.

Anyway, it’s #30 now.

I'll reserve judgement on the song until I've heard it, but, him and his team have actually called it "Perfect Duet"??? How nauseatingly pretentious!! puke.gif

Butttt I kinda like 'Perfect' in a cheesy, 90's pop ballad sort of way, so I'm intrigued to hear it.

Of course it will and it will be number 1 super soon.

Posted by: Joe. 1st December 2017, 08:14 AM

I don’t know if they will be combined. Usually I’d expect they would but they’ve changed the title to include Beyonce as a joint credit. It reminds me of a Sam Smith Lay Me Down situation.

Posted by: Klampus 1st December 2017, 08:17 AM

Sam Smith wasn’t combined because one version was for charity and he obviously didn’t feel like donating the funds from the other version.

There’s no way they’ve done this to not have them combined, they want that top spot!

I kinda like how beyonce sings, gently and without over-doing it, very calm and quiet, positively surprised

but will it be combined, cannot recall any similar situation where a new version of a given song had a name change

Posted by: ManicKangaroo 1st December 2017, 08:35 AM

2. Ed Sheeran - Perfect Duet (with Beyoncé)
3. Ed Sheeran - Perfect
27. Louis Tomlinson - Miss You

Posted by: M4NG0 1st December 2017, 09:47 AM

It would be hilarious if the OCC charted it as a separate song and both versions charted at #2 and #3 laugh.gif

Anyway I've just listened to it and it's... well, a bit pointless really. Musically the original is better. And what happened to the 'Despacito' vibe he said it was supposed to have?!?

Posted by: Bjork 1st December 2017, 09:49 AM

1 Ed Sheeran Perfect Duet (with Beyoncé)
2 Rita Ora Anywhere
3 Ed Sheeran Perfect

Posted by: Bjork 1st December 2017, 09:50 AM

guess adding a big name counts as doing a Despacito in Ed's mind

Posted by: mrbrightside 1st December 2017, 09:58 AM

The definition of Despacito as a verb is to to add a big star to an already popular song to make it even more popular. Or something.

Posted by: cqmerqn 1st December 2017, 10:28 AM

The new Perfect sounds different too, so I don’t think it will be combined

Interesting situation!

Anyway assuming they are combined, what are the rules about Beyonce getting credit on the #1? Does the remix have to sell/stream more?

Posted by: cqmerqn 1st December 2017, 11:24 AM

She wont be credited

Posted by: Bjork 1st December 2017, 11:26 AM

why not? there are no rules about that, labels decide

Posted by: M4NG0 1st December 2017, 11:28 AM

Just heard Louis' song, I quite like the chorus in a cheesy, singalong kinda way, but I'm surprised he'd release something that sounds so dated. It sounds like a Busted album track from back in the day!

Posted by: ML Hammer95 1st December 2017, 11:29 AM

Not3s creeping up I see, at #78 now. I imagine it'll be one of the songs to get big promotion in January.

Posted by: cqmerqn 1st December 2017, 11:32 AM

I imagine that Beyonce will only be credited if it charts separately

Usually the OCC don't credit the remix, though they made an exception for Justin Bieber with Despacito, and a few others I imagine.

Posted by: FleetSeb 1st December 2017, 11:37 AM

Beyonce long gave up caring about chart placings as far as I can tell. Otherwise she would have carried on making music of the I am Sasha Fierce ilk rather than developing her craft and becoming more critically acclaimed etc.

I'm really not so sure about Ed's Perfects being combined you know, usually I'd be like 'of course they're combined' But the actual title of the song has been changed and the crediting has been changed to a joint credit rather than a remix feature. So it seems to me like they've made another version so Bey can have a credit.

Posted by: JosephStyles 1st December 2017, 12:01 PM

I think it would be wrong for Beyoncé to receive a credit from the OCC. This is just a remix, it's not the main single mix (the original has had radio playlisting across the board and a music video) which differentiates it from the likes of the Little Mix singles (No More Sad Songs, Power, etc) and even Despacito (no music video for the remix but it was playlisted by radio). This to me seems more like the Eminem remix of The Weeknd's The Hills - a popular remix but the original remains the main single version and therefore Bey shouldn't get a credit.

This is why I think it'll be two separate versions on the chart. 'Ed Sheeran and Beyonce - Perfect Duet' and 'Ed Sheeran - Perfect' Just like Sam Smith and John Legend.

But why would the label want that? I thought the whole point of the remix was to push the song to #1?

Of course Sam Smith/John Legend were a #1 regardless, but the Beyoncé remix won't sell enough on its own to make #1.

The versions will be combined. Other than Lay Me Down which we all know the explanation for, give us one other example where they’ve been separated before? Excluding The Greatest which happened in error on the sales only chart?

Posted by: MishaB 1st December 2017, 01:08 PM

Jesus. It’s absolutely destroying iTunes.

Posted by: Bjork 1st December 2017, 01:09 PM

but has there been another case where the new version also has a new title???

Posted by: MishaB 1st December 2017, 01:14 PM

How can they possibly not credit Beyoncé when it’s with her help that it’s got to number 1 in the first place (assuming it does)? I think that would be wrong. She plays a substantial part on the duet.

Posted by: jase. 1st December 2017, 01:17 PM

111. Breathe (feat. Ina Wroldsen) - Jax Jones

Good lord. I thought this'd be low top 40 at LEAST by now laugh.gif

Posted by: Michael Bubré 1st December 2017, 01:17 PM

It's not really a new title though? If it was uploaded as 'Perfect (Duet)' we would not be having this conversation. Even then though, I can think of at least one case where the title was changed and they were still combined - David Guetta et al.'s 'Gettin' Over You' was combined with the album version 'Gettin' Over'. And that did have different artist credits as well (Chris Willis was upgraded from just a feature to being a joint lead credit). I would be shocked if they weren't combined. I think they only separate versions if the lead artist is different (with 'Lay Me Down' being an exception because ??? charity I guess but that always seemed a bit unnecessary).

Looking like it will be a very easy #1 this week anyway of course, off to a very strong start. More interested to see how this new version does on Spotify. If it debuts at or near #1 there then that is probably game over for the Xmas #1 already unless it dies off very very quickly.

Because it's just a remix, it's not the main version of the song that they're pushing. But regardless, it's up to the label to decide whether they want Beyoncé to now be credited or not.

I don’t think the title has been changed. I think it’s literally the ‘Perfect’ Duet. I don’t think the word duet is literally part of the title.

Anyway, surely thy are going to be combined because what was the point in releasing it otherwise?

Posted by: AcerBen 1st December 2017, 01:25 PM

QUOTE(Michael Bubré @ Dec 1 2017, 02:17 PM) *

Yeah I reckon OCC by default will combine them, but if the label request it to be separate they will separate it.

I wonder how this will all affect the Christmas Number 1 bets if it ends up making it.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 1st December 2017, 01:52 PM

If Rak-Su win X Factor are people thinking these could challenge for #2 this week.
#1 seems like it's Ed and the winner will miss today and tomorrows sales too but they've been #1 on iTunes with their performances and I presume their winners track will be an original too in order to get a hit out of it. If Grace or Kevin win I think it'll be more likely a low top 10 hit.

That wasn't a remix, it was a mashup of 2 different songs.

I'm pretty confident it will, it's doing well on streaming as well so I think it could end up being a regular Top 40 christmas song after this year which would be nice to see.

A shame 'One More Sleep' and 'Underneath The Tree' never really ended up as being Top 40 staples each year.

Why has My Only Wish This Year by Britney Spears never done anything ever in the UK? From a big established singer you never really hear it on radio. It's completely forgotten. It's a nice solid catchy Christmas tune I'm surprised it doesn't get more recognitoon. Maybe if it had a video it would help.

Because when it got airplay, it wasn’t released to the charts and was all but forgotten about by 2007 when it would finally have been eligible. Same for Perfect Christmas by S Club 7.

It does ok on the Spotify chart but iTunes sales are non existent. Possibly because there is no single version. You can only download it via a Christmas compilation album.

Although it would theoretically be his 4th of the year had 'Shape Of You' not been released, since he had 3 other songs peak at #2 behind himself laugh.gif (and it will be his 4th sales #1 of the year, could have been 5th had 'Castle On The Hill' not been released simultaneously with 'Shape Of You').

It looks like the solo version of 'Perfect' is dropping pretty hard now, it's already fallen to #5 behind Camila and Stormzy. I hope the Beyoncé version doesn't completely replace the solo one on the radio, really not at all keen on this new version oops, pretty inferior to the original which already wasn't exactly Ed's finest moment.

Ed is mad about the charts. It was probably he himself who wanted to remix the song so it could go number 1. He was asked in an interview not so long ago what was his biggest moment of the year and he said it was Shape of You going number 1. It's normally the record labels who are mad about chart placings not the singer themselves really. It wouldnt surprise me if he actually is on Buzzjack.

“Anywhere” was #1 on sales last week with around 17.5K (so around 2.5K/day) - yesterday Ed/Beyonce sold around 3.5 times more on iTunes so around 8.7K sales yesterday.

It's just the way he's so desperate with the XF performance, Beyoncé remix when he's had such a hugely successful era anyway, I really don't understand why he absolutely NEEDS to have #01 - whether it is him or his label, I find it all so cringeworthy.

Plus the song is absolutely diabolical and belongs to Westlife.

Posted by: ChristmasEve201 2nd December 2017, 11:22 AM

I don't get your stance, what is the problem with wanting success?? In 10-15 years he will be on radio 2 and people he surprised to see him in the top 40, it's his time let him have it and if he wants to promo and get the song to do well that's the whole point!

Different to Westlife too, he writes his own songs!

i think the reason everyone is pissed at him CLOGGING up the #1 spot at such an important time of the year for the charts is the fact Perfect is dull as dishwater, completely uninspired and blatantly trend-chasing/a clone of all of his other shit ballads.

i'm sure if he'd released an even slightly bearable acoustic pop track and hadn't chucked a remix out JUST when tracks that have been promoted super hard (eg. Anywhere) were about to hit the #1 spot Buzzjack wouldn't be half as bothered, but it's the way he's gone about it that just seems a bit off to me!

Let's get this straight the video is Christmas inspired, the song is easily adapted to make it Christmassy, make no bones about it the record company have planned this to be a song which will get played every Christmas and a nice little money spinner for Ed and them.

This has been perfectly plotted and it is working to perfection (ahem) for both of them.

Posted by: Rooney 2nd December 2017, 12:28 PM

You can't begrudge Ed and his team for going all out to try and get Xmas #1. For the past 15 years it has been spoilt by the X Factor etc. so it's great to see an act going for the Xmas number chart. Also I think this goes far beyond money etc. I think for Ed it is more about immortalising yourself in history. He wants to make X as successful as it can be, I mean he is at his absolute peak popularity right now, I am not sure he will ever be as popular and successful as he is now in terms of mainstream chart success so you might as well go all out and place yourself in the history books before somebody else comes along.

Graham Norton gave a good boost to "What About Us" and looks like "Beautiful Trauma" was indirectly boosted as well! Hopefully "Beautiful Trauma" will be performed on the X-factor final and go top 10 on iTunes. cheer.gif The album got boosted back into the top 10 on iTunes at #7 too.

113. Kelly Clarkson - Underneath the Tree (& 383, 566, 1405)

I believe all 3 are pretty much selling the same once you combine their multiple versions. Only difference is their streaming which Ariana is currently doing best on, then Leona and then Kelly. Although a lot of it is due to playlist order with Ariana near the top of the main spotify Christmas playlist.

This is why I am not a fan he may write the songs and well as sing them etc but clearly as we have seen this year he knows how to release, when to release for maximum effect something other acts will probably be looking at and its not about the music anymore with Ed.

How do you know this? Talk about sweeping general statements. Chart success and sales are a measure of success, to claim you are successful you need to have hits! Ed has bucket loads and has a great team behind him (probably the most resource out of his entire label). It almost sounds like it's a crime to have a good team behind you!

I don't think it's about fame etc. for Ed it is about being immortialised in music. I think that is the greatest compliment as a musician that you can achieve - mass people remember your chart success and hits 50-60 years after they have been released. Interesting phrasing from the official charts company:

‘Ed Sheeran's Perfect, which has today been rereleased in remixed form to include vocals by Beyoncé, goes Top 3 for the first time, climbing one place.’

Looks like they’re classifying it as a remix and I think she will be credited as they’ve also called it a rerelease.

Question is are they charting together or separate?

That’s why I said it was interesting phrasing. They called it a rerelease - which suggests they would be charting separately. However, they also called it a remix which would suggest they would be combined.

However, on their tweet, they said “Can Beyoncé help push Ed Sheeran to number 1?” or something like that suggesting they would be combined.

I really can't at so many people trying to twist Ed Sheeran promoting his current single (you know, the thing musicians are kind of supposed to do) as a bad thing. Yes, he wants to get a #1 (and especially a Christmas #1), what exactly is wrong with that? Surely anyone would if they had the opportunity? laugh.gif

Agreed like him or hate him that is basically the point

Posted by: Winter Wombatland 2nd December 2017, 05:15 PM

Ed Sheeran is, like him or not, one of the biggest artists in the world atm and getting a Christmas #1, which is still a very big deal and probably the only chart of the year that still gets mass attention, would cement his status. There's nothing wrong with that. Is it 'desperate' for an athlete to be committed to achieving a gold medal if they were world number 1?

(I don't particularly think a lot of Perfect ftr, it's kinda just Thinking Out Loud with strings, but eh, he sticks to what he knows and people like it sooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I am glad I didn't put money on Rita Ora now ha)

What's really wrong with an artist that wants to get some more attention even though he already got freakin tons of? although yep, being overplayed doesn't put him in any of your favors; but, as long as I remember, it all began with simple question: will 2 'Perfect' versions be separated or not? don't have real/confirmed information - why treading water?

It's not random. She performed it at the Grammys, recorded a studio version for George's film, and George died at Christmas. It makes perfect sense to release it as a single at Christmas.

There's a difference between 'I don't like Ed Sheeran's music and don't want it to be #1' and 'Ed Sheeran is desperate and cringeworthy for wanting to be #1'.

~

Solo version of 'Perfect' down to #8 now, looks like it'll be out of the top 10 pretty soon especially with XF related boosts incoming.

edit: actually now #9 (overtaken by Rak-Su's 'I'm Feeling You' which is back up to #6).

Posted by: gooddelta 2nd December 2017, 09:55 PM

I really like the original of Perfect (aside from a couple of the lyrics) but don't think the Beyonce version is particularly great. It doesn't suit her voice that well and the late 90s Steve Mac style Westlife/Boyzone festive ballad strings that I like so much in the original have been watered down.

Having said that, good for him on getting another #1 from Divide. The only thing this campaign lacked in comparison to X was a second No.1 single, so here it is! And if this is a Xmas No.1 to boot then good for him, it's one of the only notable things he hasn't achieved in his career so far.

It's absolutely a reach unless you think literally any promotion of a current single is 'desperate'... I didn't see anyone calling, for example, Little Mix desperate for releasing new collaborative versions of their songs post album release, or for performing on the X Factor. Why is it different for Ed to do that?

As for the latter part MishaB was just pointing out the irony of posters on a chart forum essentially criticising Ed Sheeran for caring about charts. I don't think that was meant to be more than a throwaway observation.

People used to make the same comments about the likes of Westlife and McFly though for purely promoting and tbf X Factor and releasing a remix with a huge star is pretty much the 2017 equivalent of releasing multiple CD singles.

And in reference to a different post, I won’t have this ‘buzzjack hates male artists’ rubbish being spouted around. It’s such a tired and lazy reasoning for people not liking your faves. Ed Sheeran is not all male artists. If Stereophonics, the Killers or Arctic Monkeys we’re doing anything in the charts I’d be loving it and not criticising.

There is a lot of liking for Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Liam Gallagher, 21 Pilots and Bastille too, Craig David seems to be the only male pop star that seems to be well liked on Buzzjack, the rest of the male artists being indie/alternative or male rappers or male dance producers.

I don’t really see what your point is tbh. Most duets are like that.

It seems people wanted Bey to be extra on the track or something, which would have meant that she would have been accused of trying to overpower Ed on his own song. She could have let rip and done runs galore which no other female could do, but it wouldn’t suit the song.

Dort understand why to release another Dimelo version when it's really the same and out for weeks. Weird choice anyway and the worst winners so whatever.

Posted by: Liаm 3rd December 2017, 09:09 PM

It's one thing selling well when you're on TV every week, it's another having hits to sustain a career. I just can't see it, I can see them doing similar to Fleur East except with the winner's single as well.

Posted by: Lenny 3rd December 2017, 09:12 PM

As cringe as this year's XFactor has been and the hilarity that Wyclef and Naughty Boy were waiting backstage JUST IN CASE Rak-Su won (Wagamama menu item anyone?) - "Dimelo" is bang on and I much prefer it to "Perfect" for this week's number 1.

And hopefully it brings about a Shakira Shakira revival. "Chantaje" to top the chart in January please! With a Spanglish version featuring the re-newly popular Wyclef laugh.gif

Probably because a lot of their 'fans' already bought it. Releasing another version allows them to buy it again

Nah, Roots would’ve been huge too. It has Paloma who is much bigger than Wyclef.

Grace was my favourite in auditions but I felt they killed her in the live finals. Didn’t connect at all.

Posted by: cqmerqn 3rd December 2017, 09:16 PM

They didn’t kill her until semi finals when she was a real threat to Rak-Su, who they clearly wanted to win.

Posted by: George.keh 3rd December 2017, 09:17 PM

Has it been released yet

Posted by: Michael Bubré 3rd December 2017, 09:18 PM

'Dimelo' is a bop, the best XF winner's single by an absolute mile (it's refreshing to have a winner's single that doesn't have a 'winner's single' sound to it, i.e. that people might feasibly actually listen to). I think it has a solid chance of being a decent sized hit. Don't see it getting to #1 though.

The producers probably knew Rak-Su would win, wouldn't surprise me if Paloma wasn't there for the unlikely event of Grace wining.

Yeah I can't see it going #1. This week is locked up by Ed and I think most of their fans will buy it this week.

well it's got the X factor Recording tag on it and it sounds exactly like their live performance version. (Ryan)

Posted by: Ryan. 3rd December 2017, 09:50 PM

Not listened to the live performance more than the once so not sure if there are any differences! Not sure the X Factor Recording thing means too much, I remember Moves Like Jagger had a similar tag on throughout its chart presence.

Posted by: Hadji 3rd December 2017, 09:50 PM

The version at #2 which people are buying is the X Factor recording version which won’t chart. That version needs to be removed so people buy the official winning version

Yes. That stupid, but we got Dimelo twice but non of roots.

Yeah it sounds like a studio version to me, just a bit of an odd tag to include!

Posted by: Ryan. 3rd December 2017, 09:51 PM

Regarding the other X Factor releases, I feel like I read somewhere that they are recorded from dress rehearsals (hence no audience noise but not top notch quality) which I can see being the case based on the ones I have added to my library.

Posted by: 777666jason 3rd December 2017, 09:53 PM

I can still see grace doing a Ella Henderson at least

Posted by: Jonjo 3rd December 2017, 09:54 PM

I assume adding the "X Factor Recording" or whatever is to help with the tagging and easy for people to find if they can't remember the group name or name of the song or whatever? And yeah, I think 'Moves Like Jagger' had "The Voice Recording tagged to it for a while too haha.

Great to see such a big boost for P!nk - should have both "What About Us" & "Beautiful Trauma" in the top 10 on iTunes soon. Hopefully "Beautiful Trauma" will benefit from increasing airplay and the X-factor recordings falling to go top 5 on iTunes over the next couple of days.

Her album is #3 on iTunes now, the highest non-compilation album!

They haven't done it in previous years sadly, I don't see why not it's not like they'd flood the chart. Without Spotify (I assum only the actual winning single will go on Spotfy) they wouldn't get that high it'd just be nice to see if they managed a top 40 or 2 or 3.

If they suddenly made everything eligible after the show, they'd run the risk of having very minor hits making them look bad. Though they ought to at least make the original Dimelo eligible so they can combine the sales.

I'm more shocked that there isn't a studio version of the winners single this year.

Is it a studio version isn't it? I think all of this year's weekly releases have been. They used to release a recording of the dress rehearsal, but the vocals on all of them sound a lot more clearer and polished than the live versions this year. They used to be labelled as [X Factor Performance], but now it's [X Factor Recording]. Done in a rush, but still in a studio.

It’s doesnt sound like a produced song which I find quite strange considering Naughty boy supposedly produced the track even though it sounds exactly the same as it did when they first performed it.

It doesn't sound live either.

The production has a lot more oomph compared to the original version. Naughty Boy has just added to the bare bones production it had, but it does sound like a bit of a rush job.

I prefer the original version of Dimelo. Wyclef Jean doesn't add anything to the song, he just makes it slightly worse like he did with Fuse ODG'S Antenna.

What's this Ralph McTell track?

Legendary singer-songwriter, Ralph McTell, has re-recorded his timeless song, ‘Streets of London’, with a choir made up of clients from Crisis – the national charity for homeless people – and guest vocalist Annie Lennox, to raise money for the cause in the run-up to Christmas. We’ve chosen it as our Song of the Day.

First penned 50 years ago, the classic single shares its birthday with Crisis, whose 50th anniversary also falls this December. To mark the occasion, Crisis’ homeless clients and staff from across the country came together to form an 88-strong choir to sing alongside McTell and guest vocalist Lennox.

The choir was conducted by Only Men Aloud’s Tim Rhys-Evans, while the recording also features Richard Thompson on guitar. One of the most recorded songs of all time, ‘Streets of London’ has been covered by over 200 artists including Cat Stevens and Glen Campbell. The song has long been associated with homelessness, with its lyrics speaking of lonely figures walking through Surrey Street Market in Croydon, where Crisis now has a centre. The latest version is an emotional gem, featuring lush orchestration and soaring choral harmonies alongside McTell’s trademark baritone. The single is being released to raise money for Crisis and help support some of the thousands of people facing homelessness this Christmas, many of whom will have nowhere to turn as the winter months close in. As well as opening 13 centres for over 4,000 homeless guests over Christmas, the charity works year-round to help people out of homelessness, as well as campaigning for changes that will end homelessness once and for all.

Ralph McTell said: “It’s 50 years since I wrote Streets of London and it saddens me that the issues raised in the song are still so relevant today. When the idea of a single to support Crisis was mooted, I was very pleased that it might help raise awareness of the charity’s work and the wider issue of homelessness. I have been performing a Christmas concert in aid of Crisis for a few years now; inspired by its commitment to improving the circumstances of so many.

“I was also thrilled that the wonderful Annie Lennox was prepared to lend her voice to a new recording, and when I discovered that Crisis had its own choir, it offered the perfect opportunity to create a new and exciting version of a song so many people know.”

Jon Sparkes, Chief Executive of Crisis, said: “Our heartfelt thanks go to Ralph McTell, Annie Lennox and all Crisis clients and staff who lent their voices to this record. The vital funds and awareness it will raise will help us support even more people facing homelessness this Christmas.

“It’s 50 years since Crisis was founded as an urgent response to an unacceptable situation – and it’s nothing less than a tragedy that we are still here today when homelessness should be a thing of the past.

“This collaboration between our clients and Ralph McTell can help us to raise awareness of the similar crisis we’re facing 50 years on. But homelessness isn’t inevitable and we’ll continue to work to ensure we won’t be needed in another 50 years’ time.”

"Beautiful Trauma" is gaining very nicely still based on the popularity bars on kworb. Constant green updates bascially. Should have no issue overtaking a bunch of the Rak Su recordings above it. wub.gif It's finally charting on spotify too now at #167. Hopefully it's been added/will be added on a bunch of playlists.

“This collaboration between our clients and Ralph McTell can help us to raise awareness of the similar crisis we’re facing 50 years on. But homelessness isn’t inevitable and we’ll continue to work to ensure we won’t be needed in another 50 years’ time.”

Thanks MK, seems like it's for a good cause.
I work in the homeless sector so might buy it to help!

Thanks for the combined update - most of the xmas songs seem to be in the order they normally are on downloads, obv streaming weighs in favour of things like Ariana/Leona/Kelly/Buble a little more. Elton maybe the only one outperforming his usual expectation at this stage. For a song that only charted at 24 in 1973 it gets a lot of airplay and success these days always hear it on radio 1/MTV channels. Suppose Elton is a living legend so most media like to give him support, but you don't hear it as much as say Thank God it's Christmas by Queen which charted at 21 in 1984 - 2 great years for xmas music tbf!

Eminem and Ed Sheeran is some kind of awful white boy apocalypse shit that will be number 1 for 15 weeks lmao

Posted by: 777666jason 6th December 2017, 08:08 PM

If Eminem has mercy and makes it album only

Did end game get any boost from the jingle bell ball thingy

Posted by: ChristmasEve201 6th December 2017, 08:15 PM

Loads of add features haven't set the world on fire in the past so unless it's smash it'll prob just be top 40. Although he is at peak popularity now!

What is the 'white boy' business about?????? I came off popjustice to get away from that crap.

People aren't allowed to be white and successful without feeling guilty these days.

I don't think Eminem/Ed will get that high unless there's some other hype for it besides just being an Ed collab. 'Boa Me' and 'End Game' didn't exactly light up the iTunes chart (and neither did 'Revenge').

Fair enough smile.gif

Just hearing that stuff so much now on forums and it's all very odd.

Can't believe we are coming into Janiary, really hope we have some excitement to keep us all going. I know JT is releasing but would like some others as well, the iTunes chart can become a bit stale due to the same songs sticking around.

Ooh when is JT releasing? ohmy.gif or do you mean you knew he was releasing in general? laugh.gif

Ed should release a Christmas song (maybe a cover of WCCA)

Posted by: dennispennis123 7th December 2017, 01:41 AM

Glad to see Palace by Sam Smith reach the top 50, its such a beautiful song.

LMAO @ people crying out about white people being prosecuted. Get over it.

I think Ed/Eminem will not be big tbh. Ed has been featured in a lot of songs and they're usually nowhere near as huge as his own songs.
