This doesn’t even feel like a single release tbh! No remixes, no performances and the one chance she did have to highlight it as a single during her R2 session she didn’t
 This was solely done to get airplay to Support album interest.

Everything up to Golden the single and the campaign was going great and was well worked.
Then they handle this just terribly. Its a complete flop of a single and it has done nothing for the album. |

There's only so much that can be expected from a third single from an act like Kylie in this day and age. I don't think Golden (the song) has been handled terribly because it's seemingly a deliberately low effort - throw out a simple video, Radio 2 playlist, done. To be fair it did something for the album - Golden returned to the album Top 40 for a couple of weeks, and it's still Top 30 in terms of sales alone.
There's countless artists that aren't charting with first singles, let alone the third (if they even make it that far into a campaign), and release albums that leave the chart within a month. If BMG/Kylie were all that bothered to achieve a chart position with Golden (song) then a physical & remix EP would be released in the same week. That's realistically the only feasible way a single would chart. |

Rebounds to #30 on the UK Radio Airplay chart:
22-25-39-43-30 Unfortunately that always happens when Kylie has her last week on the Radio 2 playlist ('Golden' has been taken off now). Still, I'm pleased the song gets its first televised promo tomorrow on The Voice Kids. |

Doubt golden will do anything. But you never know they could have something up their sleeve.
But to be fair BMG are employeed to sell the album and make their money that way hence aalbm sales far more important |
