______

You may vote in ANY or ALL of these four sub-heats. You do that by forming your 10 favourite songs from each country. You must use the traditional Eurovision voting system (12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point). If a country had less than 10 participations between 1995 and 2014 then you must rank ALL of their entries but still use the same voting system described earlier. For example, if a country has only 7 entries then your votes will be 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5 and 4 points.

Vote via PM to Conderella. You have until 23:59 Sunday May 3rd, 2015.

Posted by: J▼hnkm Apr 27 2015, 09:28 PM

Azerbaijan was quite tough to rank, one absolutely MILES ahead at the top and one way out in last, but the rest were all 9/10.

Milennium Of Love/Mana Mou/Forogj, világ!/When The Music Dies UP!

Posted by: AdamAloud Apr 27 2015, 09:41 PM

Voted. God, hasn't Ireland sent some absolute DIRGE over the years :/

Posted by: Ryan. Apr 27 2015, 09:51 PM

Cyprus is pretty close to flawless from 2006 onwards and 'Stronger Every Minute' is flawless too! wub.gif

I rediscovered NOX the other week when watching the 2005 contest, really fantastic song.

Posted by: Ryan. Apr 27 2015, 11:50 PM

Voted! Cyprus really was impossible for me, my top 3 are all very special and it was so difficult to order them - especially 2nd and 3rd. I can't believe that some of the Cypriot songs I could only give middling points too when they deserve so much more!

Posted by: Qassändra Apr 28 2015, 12:56 AM

This was not a prize round.

Good god - do we REALLY have to endure two Irish qualifiers out of this RUM BUNCH?

Posted by: Conderella Apr 28 2015, 09:17 AM

I'd like to say that I'm introducing a 'NINETIES RACIST HOE' stat into this where I determine the average year of your votes, sum(year*points)/sum(points), and get the maximum of that.

Let's see who got that PRESTIGIOUS AWARD for the last heats:

Austria: Iz
Belarus: Luke
Belgium: gooddelta
Denmark: Tim
Finland: O Mie
France: Alex
Georgia: Iz
Germany: Ryan

Ryan slaying with 6 awards. nu adele of 90s racism

~

Here's the opposite of that award. 'NINETIES BITCH!' Celebrating people who are the least nineties racist

Andorra: O Mie
Austria: Qassandra
Belarus: LexC

I, too, have voted. Surprised about how good Cypriot entries are in general. Especially that incredible 95-98 run.

Posted by: Ryan. Apr 28 2015, 03:44 PM

I do struggle to connect with the 1995-99 songs a lot of the time just because I'm so familiar with songs from 2000 onwards in comparison thanks to the compilation CDs, and especially 2004 onwards. I guess that's the same for quite a few of us, just more extreme for me! kink.gif

Posted by: Qassändra Apr 28 2015, 03:50 PM

I absolutely do not understand how any pop lover could connect with songs from the 2000 contest but not songs from the 1999 contest!

Posted by: Ryan. Apr 28 2015, 03:56 PM

I think it's just about familiarity, I voted for 'Take Me To Your Heaven' for example (even giving it more points than 'Hero') which is helped by the fact that it is one of the rare cases where I'm already familiar with a pre-2000 entry. Chiara's 'The One That I Love' was a similar case.

On the other hand, I heard Marlain's entry for the first time yesterday and while I enjoyed it, it's never going to be able to beat their more recent entries just because I've known them for so long.

Posted by: AdamAloud Apr 28 2015, 03:58 PM

All I'm gonna say is everyone better get familiar with Marija Magdalena before Croatia's round if you want to continue with LIVING your life x

Posted by: LexC Apr 28 2015, 04:01 PM

Well in fairness I don't think Croatia is exactly dripping in competition in that regard (although my campaign for Vukovi Umiru Sami starts now!)

Posted by: J▼hnkm Apr 28 2015, 04:02 PM

I can explain my 90's racism quite easily: Latvia's 90's entries were utter f***ing shit and Ukraine have been SHIT HOT in 5 out of the last 8 contests.

Posted by: AdamAloud Apr 28 2015, 04:09 PM

Even though Latvia debuted in 2000 and Ukraine in 2003?

Uh WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU ON?! Croatia were the QUEENS OF THE 90s!

Posted by: Conderella Apr 28 2015, 04:57 PM

Croatia only had 2 max trax in the 90s sadly. Sveta Ljubav and Marija Magdalena. Croatia is fab tho overall. Not as consistent as their fellow Yugoslavia partner in crime, Godnia and herzegovina (Putnici better be getting 12s from everyone btw. Just a minor threat), but still very strawng.

I'd ALMOST managed to erase Mrs Dervish's diabolical vocal from my mind. Damn watching the live videos instead of listening to the MP3s. Should have been a nul pointer for sure based on that, and I say that as a major fan of the studio version.

Una and a retired jockey (?) providing iconic backing vocals on Every Song Is A Cry For Love too *.*

I care not for Azerbaijan, so overrated. I only listen to one of its entries out of choice. Cyprus and Hungary have both had their moments (and horrors).

I have a couple I wouldn't mind. But the sheer awfulness of about 10 of these entries doesn't make it feel like they deserve it. I'm resenting having to vote for a few of theirs.

Cyprus are annoyingly good in places, not an outstanding entry but they're... cool for the most part.

Hungary and Azerbaijan are both quality countries though, both rarely put a foot wrong, even as far back as the Hungarian 90s. (still, it's certainly Forogj, Vilag UP) In fact, on that note, going through this lot has made me realise that Wars For Nothing is by SOME DISTANCE the worst Hungarian entry ever.

Lithuania were fairly nightmarish up to (and including) 2010, but last year's shrieking hookless horror aside they've pulled it back a bit since then.

AZBQ01

Safura
'Drip Drop'

Well, ain't that a surprise! ohmy.gif Poor floppy Safura came to Oslo in the hopes of finally snatching that wig and bringing the contest to Azerbaijan but that draw did not want her to. In the end she came 5th but managed to get a first place in Buzzjack's big gay heart... until a bigger gay icon comes along that is of course~

Posted by: Conderella May 4 2015, 08:16 AM

HNGQ01

NOX
'Forogj, világ!'

THEY WAS ROBBED IN EUROVISION!! Thank f*** you guys got this incredible song through. Still have goosebumps every time I see the performance. So ikonec and legendary. Liam needs to reevaluate his LIFE. ASAP.

Posted by: Conderella May 4 2015, 08:30 AM

HNGQ02

Kati Wolf
'What About My Dreams'

And another rather obvious qualifier from this lot. Kati Wolf. This is probably one of the most talked about gay favourites of Buzzjack. It flopped in Eurovision but still receives a lot of praise in here. Well, the song is about how she doesn't want to be a housewife and a slave to her (probably fat) husband anymore. An empowerment anthem like that, combined with something very very blue (I think http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Eurovision+Song+Contest+Dusseldorf+2011+1st+BhI4xPsoJBSl.jpg a http://damernasvarld.se/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/charlotte-perrelli-2008.jpg http://www1.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Final+Eurovision+Song+Contest+2010+Live+Show+c9f-GZ0tU_ol.jpg) will always be really high in Buzzjack's homo books.

Kati + NOX got 253 points and no less than THIRTEEN sets of 12 points between the two of them.

Posted by: Conderella May 4 2015, 08:40 AM

CPRQ01

Ivi Adamou
'La La Love'

Oh yasss henni slay! Yet another big gay favourite advances to the next round. This time it's from Cyprus. 2012 was such a great time for them. They actually finally sent something RELEVANT and fresh to Eurovision. Clearly it was only a one-off, it seems. Because 2 dull ballads followed and hope started to get lost. But Ivi still slays. Let's send her again.

Posted by: Conderella May 4 2015, 08:46 AM

IRLQ01

Jedward
'Lipstick'

Yeah, having this in the semis in favour of some other songs is ridiculous. Not only they are annoying as f***, can't sing, are annoying and are very good at being annoying (did I mention them being annoying?) they stalked me last year at B&W Hallerne. I saw them like 3 times. Ugh you people have absolutely no taste. Waterline was at least listenable!

Posted by: Conderella May 4 2015, 08:54 AM

IRLQ02

Sinéad Mulvey & Black Daisy
'Et cetera'

So this is the second time in Super Eurovision II history someone has not voted for ANY of the Top 2 entries. This time it's me with Ireland. But the first time was O Mie with Latvia. Absolutely terrible selection. Even though competition was REALLY open, you could've at least chosen something GOOD. Like, 'Is Always Over Now'. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT?! (precisely NOTHING)

171 points for the Top 2 with 5 sets of 12 points. LAUGHABLE. Now THAT is what bottom 5 in the Semifinal material looks like ;D

Posted by: Conderella May 4 2015, 09:07 AM

CPRQ02

Evridiki
'Comme ci, comme ça'

And we are finishing this with the second original DNQ, Evridiki. How the hell it reached Top 2 I will probably never understand but oh well, it's never going beyond Semifinals anyway. Genesis and Mana Mou ROBBED.

239 points for the Top 2 with 10 sets of 12 points. Poor Mana Mou :'( I am a 90's bitch with my average voting year being 2001 and on the other side of that is the racist hoe Ryan whose average is 2009, i.e. 8 years more than me. Actually, Ryan got robbed of his EIGHTH IN TOTAL 90's racist hoe award for HUNGARY by Liam at the last minute. But who's counting? (I am)

Those Irish qualifiers laugh.gif

The Voice is amazing, that Sharon Corr-esque violin breakdown is everything. It should have gone through. (Still didn't deserve to win over Gina G, One More Time and Elisabeth though - much love for 1996 <3)

Can't believe we haven't had a qualifier from 1999 yet, genuinely one of my favourite Eurovision's ever.

Hopefully Iceland will change that and Selma can squeak through alongside Yohanna.

Actually screw Selma, I forgot about Birgitta *.* And actually, I guess Hera Bjork and Euroband are more likely too.

It will be awesome, if "Nocturne" will not qualify from Norway. smile.gif

Et cetera wub.gif Was hoping that'd be one of the Irish two, Lipstick can go run off of a cliff but Et Cetera is cool/amazing, qualities not usual in Irish entries kink.gif (and HURRAH for NOX and Safura)

Very pleased to be becoming a 90s bitch this round, Hungary & Ireland did have v. good periods there.

Margaret Berger, Maria Haukaas Storeng and Alexander Rybak will ensure that Nocturne won't qualify.
