Loves Mad Love, Sabotage wasn't that hit, but I'm confident she can turn it around! Excited!

Hmm, yes I wasn't feeling Sabotage much either and the preview for Man isn't filling me with excitement.
Nevertheless, I got my tickets to her Birmingham show |

I saw JoJo at her mixtape tour in New York 2 years ago - such an amazing performer, she deserved to be huge but was held back by the record company drama. Glad she’s releasing new material but tbh it’s not likely to do much regardless of how good it is.

^^^ it’s leaked
I’ve not listened to it, but I miss old JoJo. I know I’m in the minority but I feel like her new direction is really inauthentic. |

I think quite the opposite, this is a really good read and shows that it is her most authentic work https://www.nylon.com/entertainment/jojo-on...impression=true
I don't usually listen to leaks but had to with her, one of my favourite artists! Have ordered the CD for the car. |

I'm so frustrated that a lot of my favourite artists are taking this chilled r&b vibe on which unfortunately is really quite boring. Kehlani, Kiana Lede and now JoJo but they're being praised heavily for it so I guess they will continue but it doesn't do much for me unfortunately. |

I’m hearing a lot about the lyrics on this album being the best but from what I’ve seen it just seems to be overly sexual and which Is fine I guess. I just miss a punchy chorus haha! |

JoJo has always been an out and out R&B singer who was pushed into pop because she's a pretty white girl. She doesn't listen to much pop and didn't even like Leave (Get Out) in 2004 lol. That's inauthenticity, it just happened to produce some classic pop tracks. This album is just a continuation of her Agape mixtape, the first thing she ever did without any input from A&Rs. I'm sure it is jarring for people who prefer her pop stuff, but this is who she is. Also (spoiler), only a couple of songs are sexual really. Oh fair enough, I don't really delve into her interviews or anything anymore but if this is who she is that's fair. I really liked her mixtapes in Can't Take That Away From Me, and Agape too although less so. I guess this type of music just isn't for me! Regarding the lyrics, I didn't realise it was only a couple - I saw on Instagram she teased every song and it felt like I just kept seeing it! On a positive note though, I really liked Man! |

Oh, that was exactly my reaction to the lyrics lol. It's only a couple but I will say that the sexual songs are... a lot. Anyway, Lonely Hearts is out. I love the writing.
