It's TOTD on radio 1 today so Its safe to assume its getting a push in the UK at least as the third UK single from 'Lemonade'.

Thoughts?

For me it's by far and away the best song on the album, I'm pleased with this.

Bey has released a new video for "Freedom" featuring young girls around the world to celebrate Day of the Girl yesterday. The girls are fierce but the video features some rather upsetting facts about child abuse and other disadvantages faced by girls.

I don't think it's available anywhere that we can embed yet but you can view the full video on her https://www.facebook.com/beyonce/videos/1738873386408327/.

'Freedom' was one of the strongest tracks on Lemonade; big shame it and none of the other singles (bar 'Hold Up') didn't achieve chart success outside of album release week. The new video is great, keeping the focus on fierce and empowered girls but reminding the audience at home of the disadvantages girls face across the world.

Great little second video. I like how it still retains what the song is about but also gives a new meaning to the song if that makes sense.

On Thursday Freedom and of course Lemonade will be officially 4 years old! I was looking through some other covers of Beyonce songs on Youtube and stumbled upon this surprisingly great cover! Rag'n'Bone Man kinda got on my nerves with Human but he really does this song a great justice! This is what covers should be like tbh - a re imagination of the song turning it into something new rather than just recording new vocals over the same backing track.

The original was immediately a favourite of mine from the album and has aged very well thus far I think. Some other tracks from the album have overtaken in terms of personal preference but still is still a jam dance.gif What do you think of Freedom? Has it aged well over the past few years?

absolute TUNE, probably the best on the album

This was a great choice of single from Lemonade, so fierce! Such a shame it didn't take off. sad.gif I'm sure this is being used in an advert, maybe for O2?
