Very pleased so far, would love to finish so high but that's highly unlikely.

The top two is perfect though, would love it to stay the same, I had difficulties ordering my 18 and 15 and would be ecstatic at either winning.

Terra Avium claim two points with their drum n bass rework of 'U.N. Owen Was Her?' #instrumentalbloc, three points go to a lovely alternative track from Cumulonimbia, then our four and five points go to two songs we can see doing very well this month, Dobago's infectious garage stomper and New Lexico's alternate universe Girls Aloud track (which we actually like a little more than 'Bubblegum' though it settles for one point less than we gave that).

- Deandria pick up six points for a lovely bit of trance, providing justice for the previous Solarstone entry which criminally DNQed (his remix of Silvermine's 'Flying'), a cute video to go with this one too x Summericia take seven points, which feels a little too low but maybe just subconsciously pushed down a little bit due to 'Ameno' already being a bit of a classic in Persephonia, at least we're not snubbing it outright ;o nonetheless an epic Enigma-esque track. Just ahead are two Halloweeny delights, we continue to fall in love with every by-the-numbers witch house track and the hosts Medhelnia are no exception this time as they claim eight points, while nine points go to Desbuanda's song which reminds us of a really twisted and demented version of Joe Goddard's 'Gabriel'. Then Rolloland are 3 for 3 with their finalists getting points from us, ten points this time for what we think is their best entry since their debut, a really inspired choice that sounds very unique and standout in this final and just gets better and better on every listen, it was our personal responsibility to vote for it

11 Beaverdonia // Touch Sensitive - Pizza Guy

- We weren't expecting a serious synthwave instrumental from the title of this, especially considering the country sending it (it looked more like it was going to be something along the lines of 'Activewear'), but that's what we got and it's a brilliant and infectious one at that. Beaverdonia back on form and picking up eleven points from us this month *.* Get out the Cornettos.

12 Skall // Mike Mareen - Love Spy

- We usually stan BJSC's retro dance offerings, but this month most of them actually miss out on our points (though the rest of them aren't far outside our commiserations) - still some normality though as Skall's 80s-tastic tune picks up twelve points, the same as we gave to 'Bye, Bye Mi Amor' late last year, and continuing the usual pattern of Skall getting double figure points from us when they do qualify. We do want to know how Tartford came last in the semi when this was able to qualify though!! Especially as this sounds just like something Tartford would send.

13 Cor Lupus // Aesthetic Perfection - LAX (Mr.Kitty Remix)

- Cor Lupus make it into our medal positions for the first time, beating the 12 points we gave to 'WAY OF LIFE' to claim thirteen points this time! Mr.Kitty is of course responsible for our favourite ever BJSC discovery 'Destroy Me' and this did not disappoint as it's very much in the same vein as that, more dark and encapsulating electronica. We must make sure to check out more music from him in the future based on the quality of those two tracks. I mean he has 'kitty' in his name, of course we stan him.

15 Kluminican Republic // Glass Animals and Joey Bada$$ - Lose Control

- Kluminican Republic pull out their third incredible entry out of their last four, and only just miss out on getting top marks from us again, settling for fifteen points. This sounds exactly like the sort of song we'd want to send to the contest ourselves but would probably hesitate to do so fearing it'd appeal to about three other people, if this song is a success then perhaps it might embolden us to send some more hip-hop in the future... (or we might just do that anyway and accept the DNQs). Anyway yes, bumps in the whip this is such a weird artist combination but it works fine, probably because it barely sounds like Glass Animals at all.

18 N DNTN // Yaeji - Last Breath

- Just beating out Klum Rep, our eighteen points go to the returning N DNTN, to quote the song this is such a breath of fresh air in the contest, reminds us very much of the likes of WEDNESDAY CAMPANELLA and Charisma.com which is GOOD NEWS as we'd been hoping to find more music along those lines! Yaeji is an artist we've been aware of for some time but didn't quite get into the couple of other songs we've heard, those were clearly just her buzz singles ahead of her debut ~smash~ in the Persephonian charts with this. This marks our first time giving top points to N DNTN since Theodora in BJSC 77 and the fourth time in total (also including Man Without Country in BJSC 49 and Evian Christ in BJSC 64), proving N DNTN still have it in them to provide some of the best tunes in the contest, not that we ever doubted them ~

Spare a thought tho for poor brave MC BOING who would have crushed the competition. #endtheloniaracism

This is the second month in a row where we have awarded the host of the current contest our bronze medal, following Quintessa last contest! Our expectations were sky high for Medhelnia's AQ as CHVRN is of course a Jadakissnia recycle. Not just any recycle either, as 'WVFFLIFE (CHVRN Remix)' is only behind ONUKA in terms of our absolute favourites of our own entries. Thankfully this did not disappoint at all! I will always be a sucker for witch house with repetitive vocal portions throughout and the classic spooky production that comes with the subgenre. A perfect time to unleash this during the month of Halloween!

15 Desbuanda ● Zola Jesus - Exhumed

Desbuanda are on a roll lately as I loved their entry by DJDS last month as well. But we like this one even more, in fact so much that this is the most points we have ever awarded to the nation! The previous highest was 13 for sassy Spanish entry 'XXX ANGEL DUST XXX' by LSDXOXO. Here we have another spooky entry in our top 3, once again suitable for the month of October. This song was incredibly gripping for me from the first listen. The chaotic Son Lux-esque production (featuring THOSE strings *.*) and her emotive vocals are a perfect fit <3 People should send entries with 'exhume' in the title more often as they appear to have a good track record of being fab so far, see Aeroche's 'Exhume' by Sidewalks & Skeletons also *.* We are so happy that this overcame the onslaught of DNQ predictions to earn a place in the final.

18 Cor Lupus ● Aesthetic Perfection - LAX (Mr. Kitty Remix)

Yup, our medal positions are 100% a spooky affair this time! Gosh I'm way too predictable. But these countries have all brought it for the month of Halloween and no-one brought it more than Cor Lupus this time! It is a pleasure to award an 18 to my fellow BJSC 74 debuting nation for the very first time!! This tops their recent previous best of 13 points from us that they received for LINES' 'Weekends'. Cody predicted that I would be all over this (as well as Persephonia) and he was so right. Industrial gothic artist Aesthetic Perfection gets the Mr. Kitty treatment as this is turned into something that is sooo up my street with the spooky synths and eerie choppy vocals. I would have never guessed that the original was screamo! I was really hoping to love this after how much I loved 'Destroy Me' by Mr. Kitty and well... like the artist name says, this turned out to be as close to perfection that this contest had to offer! Hope this can smash as it annihilates most of the other contenders in the odds.

4th Omg! Completely outperformed expectations, amazing to get two top fives again this year and three top tens!

And of course congrats to Liam, finally! I could see the hype building around it as the fortnight progressed but I thought a win might be a little bit beyond it, very nice to see an Italian language song win and from a former Eurovision contestant who deserved much better with her entry to that.

YESSS congratulations Liam! amazing to see a brand new winning nation after they've been competing for so long! 'Vulcano' was 21st for me so not too far off my votes, definitely a solid winner. Amazing to see Persephonia and New Lexico in the top 10 also.

Aww at 24th was hoping to have held on to top 20, but failing that then 23rd as 24th is not a unique position! Ahh well, still happy that I bettered my position from last month and got an 18, which I failed to do with 'Jiv' also *.* I am getting way too comfortable in the 20s region this year... have finished there 5 times in 2017!

Really not a fan of that winning song (nor top 2 in fact) but congrats Liam, always great to see someone get their debut win especially after many close calls!

Absolutely amazed Kaamos finished in 4th! Seemed the least mass-appealing of the trance entries in my opinion but fair play, a shame to see Deandria just miss top 10.

Shall save commenting on the rest of the results until I have double checked the scoreboard (mdh could you post / send me your spreadsheet if possible? x) but CONGRATS LIAM, it's not quite a song that I voted for winning but it was not far off at all (20th for me) so I am satisfied with that as a winner and of course it is brilliant to see countries that have gone so long without ever winning finally getting there just sneaking it in before the year is out!

Just a warning in advance - if my adding up is correct, New Lexico and FSR should be the other way round (however I cling onto top 5 by the skin of my teeth still thank god ). Don't take that as definite yet though.

New Lex smashing <3 i was a bit worried at the start people would sleep on that one but glad that wasn't the case, Confidence Man have been killing it with all their singles so far

Fljotavik/Cumulonimbia in the bottom five is a joke + Triangles entry was fun it really didn't deserve last (speaking of which when am i gonna get my wooden spoon moment? )

Really can't wait to see what everyone picks for BJSC 100 and also to see the number of entries.

I'd love to see loads of old countries return for this as well as all the regulars, and no doubt it won't look like a 'normal' contest at all, with a lot of people sending something meaningful to them or that they've been sitting on for a special occasion.

Gahh i SO wish I could've followed this live! FINALLY managed a top-half finish for the first time this year and 13th is waaayyy better than I expected after being predicted to DNQ a week ago! Thanks for all the points and especially Iz/Jacob/Silas for the 18s <3

'Vulcano' is a fab winner, congrats Liam on finally earning your first victory Really pleased with top 10 finishes for UVLand, Rontvia and Hendinia, the only disappointments for me are that Dobago and Pupok weren't higher. I thought they'd be contenders for the win! Ah well.

Congrats unovia, was a very deserving winner & brilliant song as well! Also really happy with the majority of that top 10 minus 1 or two... Arrrgh at Deandria falling short of the top 10 sublime track that I heard months prior. Excellent for Bray scoring a top 5 in such a long time too, very good track to do it with even though I prefer last month's entry x great for Rich too!

Oops at the likes of Yehesi & Beaver not doing as well as I was predicting/hyping either.

As for me yea a few snubs I was expecting after some of the comments on here and plug etc but I'm thankful it didn't ruin me getting top 20 in the end and 19th is still something I'm happy about as I hadn't received a position in the 20-11 so far as had done everything else aside from top 5 or win obviously~ so no complaints there. It probably did sound like something and was expected to be top 10 or at least top 15 by some but really I'm thrilled with another smash

YAY LIAM, delighted for you to finally get a winner and this track was actually much better than her Eurovision entry for me - so a great winner, and Raincheck grabbing 2nd place too One of my favourite entries of the year, a real "damn, I wish I'd found this myself" kinda moment.

I also wish I could've followed this live, I love the 'removing the scoreboard with 15 votes to go' twist that really leaves you double/triple/quadruple guessing yourself as to where you could possibly be, was delighted to see I clung onto a top 10 spot after getting nothing from the last three.

This has been such a successful year for Hendinia and has re-ignited my interest in BJSC (which seems selfish, that I should only care when smashing but it definitely helps!), that's five top 10s in Troll, Dolly Style, Cazzi Opeia, Elohim and Burak Yeter, think I've somewhat dark horsed my way into doing really well in the YTD considering I'm not even that far behind the force of Aeroche.

Great hosting MDH, it's been a very strong contest for hosting even though you just kept it simple, it totally worked <3.

Congrats Liam! I knew Unovia had some spin-off wins but it always kinda felt like you've already won the regular contest before as well aha. So it's about time. I had the song around 28th in my final ranking (which is a rather vague list really) but I listened to it again three times this morning and it clicked a bit more, feels like one of the better winners that I haven't voted for.

As for 100, would be nice to mark it by sending something I've known for ten years or something, but I've recently discovered something slightly.. Pupok-esque, dare I say? So I might just enter that because it's my faaaav right now.
