Now might be a good time to encourage some countries to return to the contest in time for the landmark 100th contest coming soon.
There's obviously loads of countries on the world map, and more have been added by Bré recently too. Would 100 participating nations be too much to wish for? |

Oh my!
I should save my more favouring potashé for the quieter contests I can see everyone going out of their way to send the best of the best in The 100 :’) |

100 would be WAYYY too many It might break the record but I really can't see 30+ old nations returning.

A contest with 100 participants would be unmanageably long lol :') the highest I think it could ever realistically go would be about 80 but I don't expect that to happen even if we get a few older countries returning for the landmark edition (which I do hope we see ~)

Also I have an incidental question about the world map... do the country colours represent anything significant? I notice there are about 5 different colours scattered around the world map, as I've been assigned Red, maybe the red nations could hold a spin off contest or whatever.

No, it's just random x (apart from not having countries of the same colour bordering each other).

Love that idea Wardy either way I’d love for the map to get some kind of significant role in bjsc even though it’s really just for show right now.
Then maybe there could be quarter-finals before the two semi-finals! YES sounds awesome, only thing is I think it’s only semi/finals because it’s limited to a month per contest, unless the mods decide to extend it to two months for #100. I can’t remember which month(S) bjsc is shut down for the winter but they might decide to stay open to celebrate I’d love to have an extra qualification stage. Would be a welcome change to what does kinda seem short usually having just one stage before the final

I just noticed today that there are also continents on the world map, so maybe holding some continental contests would be another way of utilising the world map! |

SOME of us are too isolationist and independent to be part of a continent though Think of us as the little Beavexit Island.

I really hope people aren't planning to go cheap just coz it's the 100th contest. 🙃
It should be treated like a normal contest. I wouldn't be against seeing other topics celebrating the 100th contest etc.. But I really can't be doing with people going cheap just coz it's the 100th contest. I.e. Those with a forum/following here on Buzzjack should still be vetoed, even if it's an album track from 10 years ago or an unreleased demo etc.. |

Yeah I agree I'm sending something very Unovia that I've planned but it's not cheap. It's just something I've not sent for ages but 100 feels like a good time. I think Phil and gooddelta should be the exceptions and have anniversary rules as this is their 100th which as big as the 50th where peope have been allowed to send Melfest songs, Avicii etc. |

The 100th contest, as far as the actual entries themselves are concerned, is just a normal contest. The anniversary stuff applies for countries hitting 50 or 100 contests next month. Otherwise standard veto rules apply and we've never given any indication that they wouldn't

The countries celebrating anniversaries that month are FSR Rontvia/Rep d'Ash/Kylienips/D'yermak'er/Trifoski/Singerpurear.

yeah I intend on self-recycling one of my faves for '100 (not Avicii before anyone asks) - if it gets vetoed so be it but it is worth a try.

Rép d'Ash are taking full advantage of the 100th contest rules and have been planning on doing so since they were introduced. Our entry has been in the planning since Christmas 2016
