Welcome to Week 15 of these polls!
Results from Week 14: The best poll was always going to be very competitive this week and indeed no fewer than 4 songs reached double figures in the voting. "Common People", "Born Slippy" and "A Design For Life" all gained 11 votes to be joint 2nd, but it was "Children" by Robert Miles which secured the win with 13. The runaway winner of the worst poll with 13 votes was the appropriately titled "Why" by 3T featuring Michael Jackson, despite such profound thought provoking lyrics as "Why does Monday come before Tuesday"? Best poll winners week 1: Percy Faith - Theme From 'A Summer Place' week 2: Petula Clark - Downtown week 3: The Beach Boys - God Only Knows week 4: The Beatles - Let It Be week 5: Sparks - This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us week 6: Greg Lake - I Believe In Father Christmas week 7: Ultravox - Vienna week 8: Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) week 9: A-ha - Take On Me week 10: The Pogues ft. Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale Of New York week 11: DNA ft. Suzanne Vega - Tom's Diner week 12: The KLF ft. Tammy Wynette - Justified And Ancient week 13: Kylie Minogue - Confide In Me week 14: Robert Miles - Children Worst poll winners week 1: Russ Hamilton - We Will Make Love week 2: Ned Miller - From A Jack To A King week 3: Cliff Richard - Wind Me Up (Let Me Go) week 4: Ray Stevens - Bridget The Midget (The Queen Of The Blues) week 5: Marie Osmond - Paper Roses week 6: Our Kid - You Just Might See Me Cry / Joe Tex - Ain't Gonna Bump No More week 7: Star Sound - Stars On 45 (Volume 2) week 8: Cliff Richard - Daddy's Home week 9: Black Lace - Agadoo week 10: Abigail Mead & Nigel Goulding - Full Metal Jacket (I Want To Be Your Drill Instructor) week 11: Madonna - Hanky Panky week 12: Gazza and Lindisfarne - Fog On The Tyne (Revisited) week 13: Nick Berry - Heartbeat / Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart and Sting - All For Love week 14: 3T ft. Michael Jackson - Why |

Voted for Sash! - Encore Une Fois and The Verve, with Blur and Oasis (what a combination) just missing out.
None of those #2s are awful, but Warren G's cover and the Backstreet Boys' highest charting UK hit from their Backstreet's Back album are so forgettable it's untrue. |

Went with Encore Une Fois, Song 2, Bitter Sweet Symphony, Freed From Desire, Tubthumping and Sunchyme. Could've voted Lovefool, Torn or Ray of Light as well, very good week for highlights x
Also went for Warren G and Will Smith for worst - the boyband ones weren't good, but I've forgotten them already, these two were especially pointless and dated. |

Song 2, Lovefool, Verve and Tubthumping the best
but could also have voted for Torn and Stand by Me worst Boyzone murdering Tracy Chapman :/ good I missed that bit and didn't get to hear it biggest injustice when the original flopped at #94 and then Boyzone's rancid cover goes to #2 |

Disappointed that I am the only person to vote for The Boy is Mine. It's 'all-time' great.

I nearly voted for 'The Boy Is Mine' as well, not really a song I tend to think of as an all time fave but it sounded great in the listenthrough yesterday!

I wasn't able to be there on Sunday.
It is my favourite R'N'B song ever. The production blows me away! Beautiful voices and a great, great melody. I know we could all say that about many other songs. This post has been edited by Colm: 25th September 2023, 11:59 AM |

16 voters is a bit down on the last few weeks - anyone not yet voted?

I Shot The Sheriff and Just The Two Of Us for the worst. |
