BuzzJack Music Forum _ Taylor Swift _ Unpopular Opinions: Taylor Swift

Posted by: JosephAvery Aug 24 2019, 05:13 PM

Okay so Cqm thinks Lover is Taylor's best song and it got a mixed response. This has made me wonder...what are YOUR unpopular Taylor opinions?

One of my favourite Taylor songs is This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things. It's my petty anthem and pops off so much, more than anything else on reputation (and I'd say it's between that and Delicate for my fave on the album). It was an amazing tour closer too! The hate it gets is quite sad to see.

I also think Speak Now is Taylor's best album!! Every song on that brings something to the table and it's lyrically her best work too.

TIWWCHNT is also my unpopular opinion. What a song. I love it so much wub.gif

I know places is in the top 5 of 1989.

I feel most my Taylor opinions aren't unpopular with either the general consensus or the fanbase 😂

'This Love' is a big highlight on 1989 for me and doesn't get enough love! Such a beauty.

LWYMMD is my ultimate go to song when I'm angry, alongside not ready to make nice by dixie chicks & you oughta know by alanis morissette, it's perfect for those moods 😂❤️

Cruel Summer is overhyped! Wtf it's so forgettable lol

Fearless is my favourite album by her wub.gif It's kinda the sound I most associate her with even although most fans nowadays prefer her more recent and more poppy material

Delicate is dull as anything and one of my least faves oops

Speak Now being her best album is piping hot tea *.* Even with her worst song on it (Never Grow Up)

Posted by: Jordan Lee Aug 24 2019, 07:05 PM

ME! Is one of her best lead singles.

Posted by: HausofTove Aug 24 2019, 07:07 PM

Shake It Off is genuinely my least favourite song on 1989.

Omg preach it 💗😍

NEITHER of those are even the worst on Speak Now let alone her whole discography!!

(the worst on the album is any one of the bonus tracks, the standard is where it's truly at)

Erm no!!! Superman issa bop of life and Ours is gorgeous!! If this was a movie is also beautiful (tho that is probs bottom 3 on the album x)

Me! was disappointing I think compared with Taylor Swift and Brendon Urie's usual standard. The lyrics were a bit childish in parts from both her and Brendon.

The lyrics were good for You Need To Calm Down but the production was generic I think.

YES!

Also, Bad Blood is right down there too.

Posted by: TheSnake Aug 24 2019, 08:54 PM

Yes Shake It Off is rather annoying, especially that chanted bit about the ex and his new girlfriend.

Posted by: ...ready for it Aug 24 2019, 09:38 PM

So It Goes... and False God are two of my favorite Taylor songs.

Posted by: John-James Aug 24 2019, 09:46 PM

Everything Has Changed is probably the worst single she's ever put out

Posted by: SamJudd Aug 24 2019, 11:43 PM

Not overly keen on 'Me' or 'You Need To Calm Down', and honestly weren't looking forward to the album, but after hearing 'The Archer' & 'Lover' they both restored my faith and bought the album today and while its a mixed bag there are many great tracks on there 'Cruel Summer', 'The Man', 'Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince', 'Cornelia Street', 'Death By A Thousand Cuts', 'Soon You'll Get Better' & maybe 'Afterglow'.

So really loving this album, much better than 'Reputation'.

Hmm, not sure I have any crazy hot takes, except that Out Of The Woods is boring and overrated. I also think Blank Space and Style are overrated but they're still decent.

I also agree Speak Now is her best album (The Story Of Us is the worst btw), but that's not so much an unpopular opinion here, more so outside of Buzzjack.

Posted by: BiLLYx Aug 25 2019, 01:23 PM

London Boy is the best song on the album 🙈🙈

OMG plz say you're just trolling and aren't actually a HEATHEN!!!!

Posted by: JosephAvery Aug 25 2019, 02:22 PM

Definitely agree Out of the Woods is overrated (it's still good though)

Posted by: George.keh Aug 25 2019, 02:38 PM

Cruel Summer possibly already in my top 3 Taylor tracks with Style and Delicate

Posted by: Algernon Monqueef Aug 25 2019, 02:38 PM

1989 is just trite pop and nothing special

Posted by: Jordan Lee Aug 25 2019, 02:59 PM

Look What You Made Me Do is one of her worst ever songs.

The video is brilliant but I’m gutted that’s her only UK #1 single sad.gif

I’m trying to think of more but I never really know what’s thought of as being a popular or unpopular opinion

Posted by: Jonjo Aug 29 2019, 03:07 PM

Both Of Us with B.O.B. is one of her best.

BITE ME BITCHEZ.

Posted by: SamJudd Aug 29 2019, 05:12 PM

I really like 'Look What You Made Me Do', I know a lot of people don't, but don't care and find it a lot of fun with its awesome music video and the best thing to come out of the mess that was the 'Reputation' era, never liked 'Ready For It' that much, find the production too clunky to enjoy and thought that 'I Did Something Bad' should have been the 2nd single.

In fact this would have been my 'Reputation' run =

Look What You Made Me Do
I Did Something Bad
Getaway Car
Delicate
Ready For It
Call It What You Want

Scrap 'End Game' as a single, simply because it was awful and only got released because of the big names involved, they could have easily done something far better than this & 'Gorgeous' should have stayed as a promo, only made a single because of its relatively high peak and didn't even have a video WTF, just pointless.

What do you guys think of this run...

Did you miss the 'un' in the title xx

I think 'You Need To Calm Down' is an highlight on her 'Lover' album.
