Kat Slater King Rollo 28, Slick 28, AaronTM 30, Feel The Fever 27, Lukuzz 28, Pippa 19, Scene 27, JosephStyles 20, HausofGhibli 26 = 233 points Kathleen "Kat" Slater (also Moon), played by Jessie Wallace, is the second eldest Slater family sister and first appeared on 18 September 2000. Her initial stint saw her involved in many storylines, most significantly in a plot twist which sees her sister Zoe revealed to be her daughter after she was raped by her uncle Harry as a child. Another key aspect to the character's storylines is her marriage to Alfie Moon, prior to which she became briefly engaged to Alfie's love rival Andy Hunter. After Kat jilted Andy on their wedding day, he blackmailed her into sleeping with him in his revenge bid against Alfie. Wallace has won multiple awards for her portrayal as Kat, who has become one of the show’s best loved characters. Kat departed on 25 December 2005. Wallace reprised the role in 2010 and Kat returned on 17 September. The character departed the soap again in May 2015, returning briefly between December 2015 and January 2016. Wallace reprised her role as Kat in the six-part spin-off series Kat & Alfie: Redwater in 2017. Following the confirmation that Redwater would not return for a second series, it was announced that Kat would return to EastEnders; she returned on 22 March 2018. On 26 January 2020, Wallace was suspended from the soap for two months due to her off-screen behaviour. Kat departed on 23 March 2020. Wallace returned to filming on 29 June 2020 and is due to return when the show returns later in the year. In Kat's second stint on the soap, Kat and Ronnie Branning both give birth on the same day, but Ronnie's baby, James Branning, dies and while Kat is in hospital and her baby, Tommy Moon, is unattended, Ronnie swaps the infants. The storyline received over 6,000 complaints, making it the second most complained about EastEnders storyline. Kat's storylines also include suffering a miscarriage, an affair with Derek Branning which briefly ends her marriage with Alfie, becoming penniless and permanently scarred in a fire and becoming a millionaire. In 2015 Kat's most prominent storyline - the character's rape, is revisited when it is revealed that Kat had given birth to twins and she has a secret son, Zoe's twin brother, and this facilitates the character's second exit from the soap. In Kat & Alfie: Redwater, Kat discovers her son is a murderous Catholic priest, Dermott Dolan. Since her reintroduction in 2018, Kat's storylines have focused on the breakdown of her and Alfie's marriage and her separation from her children, a relationship with Kush Kazemi, feuds with both her cousin Stacey Fowler and Phil Mitchell, which leads to the latter suffering from an injury caused by Stacey, and supporting her friend Whitney Dean with her stalker Leo King. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. The character is introduced as a feisty and troublesome teenager and an extension to the already established Slater family. EastEnders scriptwriter Tony Jordan revealed that he created the character with Turner in mind: "I first met Lacey when she came to a casting workshop for the Miller family ... She was leaning against a wall and looked just like Kat Slater. I thought she would be perfect for the Slater family so I wrote in Stacey’s character especially for Lacey. Producers explored the character's backstory with the introduction of her mother, Jean Slater, who has bipolar disorder. They then paired Stacey with Bradley Branning and writers developed a series of problems for their marriage, including an abortion and Stacey's affair with Bradley's father, Max Branning. In 2009, the character was placed in an issue-led storyline when she is diagnosed with bipolar; the show worked with various charities to develop the story. Writers also incorporated Stacey in the "Who Killed Archie?" plot and revealed her as his killer in a live episode, which was followed by a two-hander episode between Turner and Jake Wood (Max Branning). The story also linked to Stacey becoming pregnant and concluded with Turner's departure on 25 December 2010. Stacey returned on 7 February 2014 and was involved in another issue-led story exploring postpartum psychosis in 2016, following the birth of her son. Turner went on maternity leave in 2019 and prior to her exit, Stacey became involved in a custody battle with Kush Kazemi and a feud with her cousin Kat Slater. Stacey left on 2 August 2019, after attacking Phil Mitchell. Turner made multiple cameo appearances during her maternity leave and will return in 2020. The character has proven popular with fans and critics alike, and Turner has won over thirty awards for her portrayal, including four National Television Awards, six British Soap Awards and eight Inside Soap Awards.

Kat is more rounded that way as she does both the heavy storylines but she does provide more of a laugh from time to time. Great thread and thank you for hosting as i really enjoyed it.
