The line-up is starting to be teased and will probably be confirmed soon! I dip in and out tbh but as one of them is MAURA f***ING HIGGINS I'm in for good wub.gif until she is out in week 2 with a score of 12 x

Others who seem to be doing it are Joe Swash, H from Steps, Perri Kielty, Michael Barrymore, Michelle Heaton, Karen Carney, Libby Clegg, Lucrezia Millarini and Lisa George. Not the best of line-ups but MAURA

Was really hoping we wouldn’t get another professional dancer on it again this year

Maura and Michael Barrymore confirmed!!

I don't get why he is doing it... in fact he's a bigger wringer than James Jordan was. Plus one of his dance crew is on the judging panel laugh.gif

I would prefer to see Lee from Steps than H but either helps keep the Steps name out there until the new album comes.
There was always going to be someone from Love Island taken part and i suspect Maura is going take everything that comes her way as she knows the time frame of her fame may be short.
Michael Barrymore always has the ability to draw viewers so how he can skate will be one to watch.

Posted by: Mack. 24th September 2019, 02:39 PM

Not Michael Barrymore... Career has never been the same since that ill-fated party in 2001.

Posted by: Jαsє 24th September 2019, 03:58 PM

An actual legit celeb in Barrymore! Good for them

Posted by: ElectroBoy 25th September 2019, 07:13 PM

Kevin Kilbane (Footballer)
Lucrezia Millarini (ITV News)

Now confirmed too.... pushing the boat out this year biggrin.gif

Posted by: Liаm 25th September 2019, 10:31 PM

The Sun has the line-up as being:

Maura Higgins
Trisha Goddard
Joe Swash
Michael Barrymore
Perri Kiely
Caprice
Libby Clegg MBE
Lucrezia Millarini
Lisa George
H From Steps
Ben Hanlin
Kevin Kilbane

Apparently Kelvin Fletcher was meant to be doing this but got replaced by Ben Hanlin as he went to Strictly!

Posted by: ElectroBoy 26th September 2019, 11:53 AM

Lisa George
H From Steps

Have now been officially confirmed so the Sun must be right.

Perri a lock for the win

Posted by: Wall 27th September 2019, 02:15 AM

I don’t get why professional dancers are allowed on these shows laugh.gif

Posted by: Liаm 8th October 2019, 10:46 PM

H is going to be in a same-sex skating couple with Matt Evers - love it! wub.gif Hopefully this ushers in Strictly to follow its lead next season.

I hate it sad.gif

The main clue in the show is DANCING!!! It’s legit the first word in the title.

Having James Jordan In was bad enough but Perri is even worse!

They’re both just as qualified to judge the show as Ashley Banjo, John Barrowman and former judge Jason!

He’s likely gonna win tbh as well. Dancing On Ice doesn’t really go off the “journey” like Strictly.

It sounds like I’m ranting lol but it’s so unfair. I know the ice element is different but it’s still a gigantic advantage. Perri could choreograph routines on his own as could James last year.

Shook ar H! I was imagining Matt would get Lisa George for some reason.

Posted by: Liаm 8th October 2019, 11:16 PM

Tbf I don't think Perri is AS bad as James being on, James is a proper trained professional. Perri isn't, but of course he dances as his job plus he won a show as part of a dance troupe and clearly knows how to dance. Of course, he's going to be doing different stuff on the ice but he's going to have that advantage of picking up choreography, having a natural rhythm etc., whereas others will have 0 of that and need to pick up dance as well as skating.

Never understood why people take such issue with celebs with dancing backgrounds taking part in these shows. No-one actually gains anything from winning and it's an entertainment show, I want to see performances that blow me away.

100% this! By that reckoning H shouldn't be on it either as he is bound to have gone to stage school and definitely has a dance background.

Posted by: CaptainMackxmas 18th December 2019, 05:38 PM

Michael Barrymore out of Dancing On Ice after breaking a wrist during training. He'll be replaced by Radzi Chinyanganya a former Blue Peter presenter.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 12th January 2020, 07:29 PM

Wow at Libby.

Such an inspiration.

Now everyone has skated I’d say Perri, Lisa, Libby, Caprice and H have a shot at doing well plus Joe too based on public votes.

I have to say the standard this year is pretty good which likely means we will probably get a few people leaving early who are actually better than some people who got a lot further the last two series.

Don’t think I’m missing Jason as much as I thought I would too, Johns slotted in pretty well.

Posted by: Liаm 13th January 2020, 03:55 AM

Maura is SO gonna be a shock early exit, but I'm only watching for her really laugh.gif The standard seems really high so I think her and potentially maybe Lisa/Caprice could go too early, but then maybe not Lisa because I feel like the token Corrie star usually does well and she seems likeable which worked for Brooke and Jane.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 13th January 2020, 09:12 AM

I wouldn’t be too shocked at H being an early exit.

I get he’s making history but he’s just so irritating personality wise and I think he could grate on people. Plus the novelty of the same sex thing will wear off a few performances. I get why he’s important to the show but I’m gutted of all the people to get a same sex partner first it’s him.

Lisa could go far! She’s from corrie and she’s good too. Based off one performance alone she seems better than Jane and Brooke. The standard in Brookes year though wasn’t that high she made the final but she wasn’t that great at skating had she been in this season she’d have really struggled. I hope Caprice isn’t a bit of a skate off queen but I could potentially see that happening! Next week will be interesting where they’re all skating in the same week.

Posted by: Jack 13th January 2020, 09:22 AM

Being the same sex as someone for this isn't a 'novelty' lol, what a weird thing to say!

Posted by: Jordan Lee 13th January 2020, 10:24 AM

But they can only go on about it being historic for so long. Like it’s literally normal for a same sex couple to be on the show the more it’s mentioned the more annoying it gets. I know what I mean like the novelty of it being different for the show etc will only stay for so long. You always pick some fault in what I say no matter what the topic is or who or what we are talking about it’s laughable.

Posted by: Jack 13th January 2020, 10:30 AM

Because you keep on making really weird comments - backing up Camila's racist past, having issue with how Sam Smith identifies, now saying a same sex couple on DOI is 'novelty' and 'annoying'. It all reads as very ignorant and when you are called out on it you get very defensive, rather than acknowledging it. But yeah, sure, me calling you out is 'laughable', okay.

Posted by: ElectroBoy 13th January 2020, 11:47 AM

I actually agree with you Jordan - for the vast number of people having a token same-sex couple would be deemed as a novelty.

And lets be honest DOI have only done it for the novelty factor rather than trying to be progressive in any way. Its basically ITV's stunt for this series - like casting Gemma Collins last year. To create a buzz and a talking point.

And yes that is a sh!te thing to say, but until its normalised and stopped being a 1 token couple and being made a thing (by the show and media), it will always be thought of as a novelty for the casual viewer.

That’s exactly how I tried to put my point across but I just didn’t explain it as well as you! Like it isn’t something everyone will get / understand and that’s obviously sad and not right but I do feel like the novelty of it will soon wear off and it will only get them so far. Plus that mixed with H being the first ever contestant to be in a same sex couple as well I feel will stop them from going all the way because he isn’t the most likeable of people and I can see how he rubs people up the wrong way. The more he keeps harping on it the less normal he’s making it. Like if they want it to be seen as normal they need to believe it’s normal themselves. Maybe I’m ignorant of it because of the generation I grew up in and I haven’t really experienced some of the stuff they have but it’s off putting seeing it spoken of so much.

I think some people on this site are still very unaware of like the real world and how this sites views as a whole represent a minority rather than a majority.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 19th January 2020, 04:58 PM

I agree, the more attention he makes of it the less normal he makes it, I also agree h isnt the most likeable he has always been by far my least fave member of steps, with h I have always found him to be very fake

Posted by: dandy* 19th January 2020, 06:07 PM

Why has Caprice and her partner split? How weird and there’s nothing online!

Posted by: Jordan Lee 19th January 2020, 07:16 PM

I’m dying to know what’s went on!

Caprice seemed like a massive fan of him last week as well.

However going forward I’m feeling this will perhaps put people off voting for Caprice next week? Obviously we don’t know what’s gone on but Hamish comes across as one of the nicer pros so I don’t think it’s something he decided. On other shows Caprice has done (I don’t know if it’s just the edit) but she’s come across as hard working but hard work and a someone who can be a diva.

Posted by: Liаm 20th January 2020, 12:26 AM

I feel like they must have fell out, if one or the other was injured they'd have said, plus Hamish is still part of the professional line-up, I assume Caprice will have one of the eliminated male pros next week but I'd not be surprised if she was out pretty soon despite being very good.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 21st January 2020, 12:23 AM

Is there still nothing on Caprice gate?

Rumours on twitter seem to think it’s because her husband was jealous.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 21st January 2020, 12:27 AM

But The Sun has posted this

https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/10779811/dancing-on-ice-caprice-diva-hamish-hate-each-other/

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 21st January 2020, 12:42 AM

Kinda expected it to be this.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 21st January 2020, 12:45 AM

Has anyone on this ever had a partner swap before what wasn’t anything to do with illness / injury? Like to just demand you aren’t skating with them again yikes.

This will seriously impact her public vote even if what the press is saying is total trash. Half expecting a staged Pamela Anderson style exit for her this week now where she falls over in the skate off to get herself sent home.

Posted by: J▲hq 21st January 2020, 07:56 AM

Hamish must’ve been spoilt last year by having Saara, the most dedicated, hard working person on the planet x

Posted by: Adam 21st January 2020, 05:29 PM

As a huge fan of Saara, I grew to love Hamish, he still even turns up at her gigs. It's hard to feel like he was the problem.

Posted by: pippa 21st January 2020, 09:14 PM

I would say the problem lay with Caprice and not with Hamish at all.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 26th January 2020, 08:04 PM

Yikes.

Twitter is gonna kick off at that skate off result although I seen it coming to be fair.

Caprice was so good in her skate with Hamish but tonight it felt like she’d actually regressed.

Some strong contestants this year though. I think the final 5 will be Perri, Lisa, Libby, H and Joe.

Poor Radzi though he really tried and didn’t make any mistakes in that stake off but I knew they’d keep the talking point of the show over him she’d have had to have literally fallen flat on her face for her to not go through.

Posted by: BiLLYx 26th January 2020, 09:06 PM

Maura needs to get her shit together ASAP

Posted by: Jordan Lee 28th January 2020, 07:40 PM

Saara speaking out in support of Hamish!

I’m still wondering if we’ll ever hear of what went on with Caprice.

Caprice is so just gonna be in the skate off consecutively till she goes though. She’ll need to get to 3rd (at least) on the leaderboard to try and avoid it.

I’m just so ready to find out what happened laugh.gif

Posted by: Jordan Lee 2nd February 2020, 07:52 PM

Poor Lisa sad.gif glad she got through on public votes though! A real shame to see her fall.

I also thought Perri fell but clocked Vanessa did the same so guessing that one was choreographed.

As for H being in the dance off I called that quite early one saying they could appear novelty by constantly saying how they’re the first etc and going on about the message all the time like H literally mentions it at any opportunity and makes out it’s like a much bigger deal than it is.

It’s alienating and the routine didn’t help much either. Wasn’t that shocked. He harps on them about being two men skating and then comes on in what looks like a skirt as well yikes. .

Tbh though it was an unlucky night and the vote was gonna shake things up tonight with Caprice not being there as she’d have just been in the skate off again had she not left.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 2nd February 2020, 09:15 PM

H is very unlikeable as I always feel he comes across unlikeable and fake. Lisa recovered well from the fall but they are all really improving.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 9th February 2020, 07:34 PM

Close night tonight looks like H in skate off again though but against who? I can’t really predict the placings now tbh but Perri has won.

Posted by: dandy* 9th February 2020, 07:38 PM

Perri is definitely the best, the only unknown for me is whether Libby can challenge him as she is doing astonishingly well.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 9th February 2020, 07:43 PM

I’m feeling tonight could be H V Ben?

I just feel like Lisa has a huge Corrie support fanbase, Joe has a big personality and is likeable, Maura has a huge personality too and is popular plus she went last tonight, then we have Libby who is also a strong contender who’ll get support (and she’s inspirational too).

H being bottom tonight and then having a marmite personality and already being in a skate off before just makes me feel it’s him vs someone else and Bens the least known I’d say of who’s left.

This series is actually good though in terms of ability. Perri is the best but if you asked me who was second best Or his main competition I’d say someone different each week laugh.gif

Posted by: Jordan Lee 9th February 2020, 07:59 PM

Yeah so it was H vs Ben with H leaving.

I don’t wanna get into another controversy on here with my views but I genuinely think if someone else had been the first Male to be partnered with a Male it could’ve perhaps went better and they could’ve lasted a bit longer. I feel like H was a bit polarising from constantly mentioning the fact he’s with a male with a male, the skirt outfit the other week, and I also just think it showed that him and Matt didn’t really get on.

Posted by: dandy* 9th February 2020, 07:59 PM

I wish they would just get rid of the headbanger. It never fits naturally into a routine and goes against the spirit of the dancing element of dancing on ice for me, I hate it when they include it.

Also, it was right to save Ben over H, Ben was the better skater for me.

Posted by: Mack. 16th February 2020, 06:54 PM

Dancing On Ice professional skater Hamish Gaman has pulled out of Sunday's show, saying he's been "struggling" over the past few months.

Posted by: troylovesmusic 16th February 2020, 09:00 PM

Maura was robbed in the skate off imo she was much better than Libby . I also think it’s a silly rule when it’s two votes each that either Jayne or Chris get the final vote surely the fair thing to do is just go to the public vote ?

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 17th February 2020, 12:51 AM

Maura was much the stronger in the skate of which i feel is what the decision should be based on.
Jane and Chris are just not cut out as judges, i always feel they dont belong on the panel as Jane in particular hasnt the personality for it.

Posted by: Liаm 17th February 2020, 01:11 AM

I hate that rule on Strictly too, it just seems unfair and like what's the point in the others really if it all comes down to one arbitrary judge who shouldn't really have any more clout than the others? laugh.gif I expect Libby would have stayed on the public vote but I always just feel a bit cheated when technically someone deserves to stay based on what they presented, but the judges still don't look at that.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 17th February 2020, 07:37 AM

I didn’t see this last night but accidentally seen who was out when I went on Twitter sad.gif

I agree on that rule though. I said it in the Strictly thread last year when we had the Shirleys decision choosing who went and I’ve always just thought I’d much rather it just be whoever got the highest public vote stays when it’s a split decision. I haven’t seen the skate off though to see for myself. But both of them have showed promise. Maura has probably gotten better throughout the competition but Libby is also a strong skater probably stronger at the skating aspect where as Maura was probably better at the performance aspect.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 8th March 2020, 06:46 PM

Joe Swash to win pls x

Posted by: dandy* 8th March 2020, 07:16 PM

Wouldn't surprise me if Joe did win... Perri has been the best though, his flow over the ice has been the best I've ever seen on this show.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 8th March 2020, 07:19 PM

Joes first skate tonight was actually the best of the 3 tbh.

He did more than Perri in those numbers.

It’s been way too biased that they want him to win I just don’t like the idea of professional dancers being on this sad.gif

Posted by: dandy* 8th March 2020, 07:24 PM

I don't think it's been biased towards him, it's just that he has been the best skater... Joe's done well and I liked his first dance the most too - although I didn't particularly care for any of them as they were more like group routines.

I never really get the concept that people shouldn't want people who can dance to win something (plus I do think skating is different to dancing) - it's odd as it's a common view I hear yet it never translates to other things, like sports people being better at lifting partners on the ice or singers being better on shows like the masked singer etc.

Also - I find it odd how people never extend it fully... like if people are going for the one who was least likely to have made it as a skater and had the biggest journey then surely that would be Libby but she hasn't been that popular in comparison.

Posted by: dandy* 8th March 2020, 07:53 PM

Loved Perri's take on Bolero, that was my favourite performance of the evening

(Joe's was good too though)

Biased as I know as we are firm friends w00t.gif

But I’m so happy he did it!

He improved so much and he’s a joy to watch and genuinely really lovely too.

Posted by: troylovesmusic 8th March 2020, 08:16 PM

Perri was obviously the better skater but Joe went on such a journey and literally was near the bottom and clawed his way to the top it was a great journey to watch so would have been happy with either of them winning.

Posted by: dandy* 8th March 2020, 08:24 PM

Yeah I'm not exactly sad that Joe won, he did do well in terms of improvement and his acting background certainly helped him with the characterisation in his routines. I would just have preferred Perri to win laugh.gif

Posted by: Spiceboy 8th March 2020, 10:55 PM

Perri was easily the best skater, he is the best I've ever seen even more so than Ray Quinn. His bolero was the performance of the night. Joe's first performance was excellent too though up until Perri's bolero that was my favourite.

Posted by: troylovesmusic 9th March 2020, 08:18 PM

Voting figures have been released

Final result 🥇🥈
Joe & Alex: 50.5%
Perri & Vanessa: 49.5%

3rd place result 🥉
Joe & Alex: 43.2%

Even more so glad I voted now.

That’s two 1% votes now where I’ve voted for the winning couple both this and Love Island seems like I’m on a real roll right now yahoo.gif
