32/40 excellent stuff. biggrin.gif

08. [163] Timbaland feat. Katy Perry - If We Ever Meet Again Oh bugger I forgot to include this in my ytd chart drama.gif

laugh.gif How do you manage to forget to put a song in your Chart of 2010? 'If We Ever Meet Again', for me anyways, is one of the years best pop singles. I've even seen the video three times today (MTV Hits, The Box and 4Music) as they're all showing these countdowns of "biggest selling male artist 2010", "biggest selling female artist 2010" and "best video of 2010". laugh.gif

Great stuff, glad my chart was able to keep you entertained whilst at work. You should post your Chart of 2010 - would be interesting to compare our charts. biggrin.gif

01. [223] Eminem feat. Rihanna - Love The Way You Lie - Love it, surprised it only had a week at #1 though, bet your glad you put it there now.

Definitely, the track first entered my chart at #2 - kept off no. 1 by 'We No Speak Americano' for a fortnight. Then 'Billionaire' came along and pushed Yolanda and Eminem down to #2 and #3 respectively - after two weeks of this, I realised that 'Love The Way You Lie' didn't deserve to peak at #2 in my chart so it made use of a fairly quiet week and was propelled to #1.

02. [217] Yolanda Be Cool & DCup - We No Speak Americano - Still loving this too

Me too, it's a brilliant dance track. Still enjoy watching the video purely for the sheer hilarious and oddness going on. In fact, the video was on one of the music channels about an hour ago whilst I was having my breakfast.

03. [216] Stromae - Alors On Danse - So glad this was big for you, still havent grown tired of this even after nearly a year

It may have failed to become a big UK hit but there's no denying this has been one of 2010's biggest hits - this further emphasises why I love following the singles charts in other countries.

06. [193] Rihanna - Only Girl (In The World) - My fav song of the year wink.gif

As of this week, 'Only Girl (In The World)' is #3 in my weekly chart. There's still life left in this song so it'll continue to do well in my personal chart in early 2011. Had the track been in my chart for another 4 weeks, it could well have ended up being my #1 of 2010. Actually, that means Rihanna would've had the top 2 singles in my chart.

11. [158] Owl City - Fireflies - Its a shame that the two weeks from last year werent counted as I'm sure it may have been very close to your top 5?

'Fireflies' collected 60 points in 2009 for its two weeks at #1. When added to its 2010 tally, Owl City collected 218 points overall which would put the track ahead of 'We No Speak Americano' but still behind 'Love The Way You Lie'. This is why I also compile a seperate All Time chart so any tracks that perform well during a crossover period (December/January) this will be acknowledged in the All Time chart.

39. [106] Shakira feat. Freshlyground - Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) - This has suddenly regrown on me loads the past week, this and Yolanda were planned to DEATH when I was in Spain back in September.

I'm sure 'Waka Waka' is Spain's biggest selling single of 2010. I check the Spain singles chart thread in Global Charts and it was reported that Shakira's track went platinum for 3 consecutive weeks (ie; selling 20,000 copies each week). I can only assume that selling 20,000 in Spain is really good. laugh.gif Also Yolanda Be Cool performed extremely well in Spain's charts even if was outsold by Shakira for several weeks - they defined the Spanish charts in July/August.

Cheers Martin biggrin.gif

02. [217] Yolanda Be Cool & DCup - We No Speak Americano One of my favourite UK number ones this year, I'm surprised it was so huge

For me, the biggest surprise was when it hit #1 selling nearly 90k. I thought it was going to be a low sales week and that it had climbed to no. 1 by default. laugh.gif It's brilliant that tracks like this can become successful in the UK. We need more tracks like this!!! tongue.gif Preferably good ones, someone's entered a similar sounding track into Unknown Pleasures 4 called 'Nonsense' by Swing Kids but I really don't like it at all. sad.gif

04. [203] Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are I prefer Matt Cardle's version, good song though!

I think Bruno Mars should thank Matt Cardle for providing this track with a massive sales boost. It's a shame we never found out the iTunes sales of all the X Factor contestants' performances. Would be interesting to find out how much Matt's version sold the same week.

10. [160] Eliza Doolittle - Pack Up Catchy tune, I'm hoping she'll follow her mother's example and enter Eurovision for us in the future!

Wow, Eliza does come from a famous family. I wasn't sure who you were referring to at first so checked on Wikipedia. Eliza's grandmother is Sylvia Young!!! ohmy.gif (yes, I didn't know this ph34r.gif ). Considering the UK's snobbery of Eurovision, I doubt Eliza would even be asked to represent the UK. We're only good at getting nobodies thrown in the deep end to represent the UK. sad.gif

11. [158] Owl City - Fireflies Shame he'll be a one hit wonder, but what a hit it is. Really nice song!

Very true, and I can't believe this was submitted into Unknown Pleasures on ChC. Terrypops really did unearth an international smash hit a good 6 months before it even became a hit in America. That's the beauty of UP contests, you never know what type of tracks you'll discover. I'd take part in BJSC but it's so longwinded and dragged out that I don't think I'd have the time to participate - especially if I won and had the host the next one. kink.gif

16. [141] Sia - Clap Your Hands Got the album the other day in the HMV sale, not listened yet but I really like both You've Changed and this song

It's strange because I remember Sia getting to no. 10 with her debut single but I didn't think the song much cop at all. So when I heard this I was majorly impressed and decided to chart it (it was on the release schedule and had entered the HET30 so qualified tongue.gif ). It'll probably never be a UK hit because Radio 1 seem to favour anyone over 30+ unless they're an established artist and even then they're struggling.

22. [124] Lady GaGa feat. Beyonce - Telephone My favourite single of hers, and the video was fabulous also

'Telephone' spent 4 weeks at no. 3 in my chart - think it charted around the time when 'Rude Boy' and 'She Said' dominated my chart. Lady GaGa & Beyonce just couldn't get past those two tracks no matter how hard they tried. For me, 'Bad Romance' is easily Lady GaGa' best single to date. Beyonce's, for me, is still 'Crazy In Love'.

25. [120] Gabriella Cilmi - On A Mission This was pretty good, but the album was pretty boring sad.gif

I wouldn't touch her album with barge pole. It's still astonishing how a record company can go from releasing a brilliant track like this to a horrendous excuse of a song like 'Hearts Don't Lie'. I'm sure there are people who like 'HDL' but definitely not me.

27. [120] Caro Emerald - A Night Like This Fingers crossed this is a UK hit this year

That would be fantastic. I just hope 2011 isn't like the continuation of 2010 with loads more poor one week wonders topping the chart and songs peaking at #2 becoming the bigger selling singles.

32. [111] The Rasmus feat. Anette Oleon - October & April Great song, having Anette singing on it makes it even better! Their Best Of album is one of my favourite Hits compilations wub.gif

I think this track entering my chart took a few people by surprised but again it entered the HET30 so qualified for my personal chart given that there was no UK release. It's still not a patch on 'In The Shadows' but it was a really nice track I thought.

39. [106] Shakira feat. Freshlyground - Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) Best World Cup song in ages, if not ever in my opinion

'Waka Waka' certainly did the business in Europe becoming such a massive hit. I still preferred 'Wavin' Flag' by K'naan though.

I'm afraid I might be the only person on this board who doesn't Like Love The Way You Lie (I like Part 2 however!) and Alors On Danse sad.gif

Oh no, I'm sure there's other who didn't like 'LTWYL' or 'Alors On Danse'. Well, I know Arrs (he was in my team Quest For Eternal Perfection) didn't like the track so that's two there already. tongue.gif Stromae's track was a real grower for me. When the track first charted at #10, I never imagined it'd be no. 1 3 weeks later. laugh.gif
