Top 100 for the 5th September 2020

Pete's Chart Commentary
Dec is back up to #1 this week in a very hotly contested Top 3 - his new album came out yesterday so expect that to make an impact this time next week. Bastille and JUNG climb to new peaks, and Marsicans and Roosevelt enter what feels like a very indie-centric Top 10. Lower down, three new entries prevent any songs from climbing into the Top 40 - these come from The Knocks, who are used to having Top 10 hits, and The Struts and Vistas who have both racked up their third Top 40 hit here.

Lots of random songs entering lower down in a week with not too many notable releases, the biggest song to enter being Dua's 'Hallucinate' whih finally hit me this week after being featured on Tour de France coverage.

Hi Pete! Great to see Declan back up to #1, I'm just giving the album a listen while writing this - really enjoying it! And I'm finding that a lot of the singles are sounding better in the context of it all.

Great to see The Struts and Vistas debut in your top 40, both are in my top 10! The Struts in particular was a real pleasant surprise, I've been a fan for a while and I'm glad it seems they're switching their sound up a bit on this one. Some interesting collaborations on the rest of the album as well...

Another pleasant surprise for me was also NEEDTOBREATHE's new album! 'Hang On' will likely make my chart next week I think. What I like about them is you can hear their Christian influence which I appreciate, but it isn't too over-the-top or "in your face" like I find with a lot of Christian bands

I'm really liking that new Vistas track - probably better than anything that was on their album which I thought was a bit over-rated tbh.

What's that new Struts song? I didn't realise they'd released anything other than the Robbie Williams collab (which I love) - I'm a big fan of both of their previous albums so I'll have to check out that new song ASAP!

Looking forward to the Declan takeover next week - it's a solid album

yay for Hallucinate finally entering, it's almost been and gone for me twice now.
Never Let Me Down was a top 20 in my chart not too long ago too!
