In her recent Attitude Magazine interview, Dua opened up on how negatively that One Kiss dance viral video effected her. QUOTE For a short period of time, it messed with my mental health. You know, I’d go on stage and if somebody was filming me, in my head, I was like ‘They’re filming it so they can laugh at me.’ I experienced a shit tonne of hate at the end of my first record, and it was something that gave me anxiety and made me upset and made me feel like I wasn’t good enough and made me feel like, maybe I’m not meant to be here and on the stage. There were so many things, like a video of me dancing and they’d say, ‘She has no stage presence’ – but they’d never been to one of my shows or seen me perform. They’d take one small snippet and run with it and it would become a whole thing.” The hate was tough, but I’m also grateful for experience because I became so much stronger. I became much more confident after it. Now I know what I’m good at; how to be good at what I do; and I know how much work it takes to be good at what I do.” — @DUALIPA Full article: https://attitude.co.uk/article/dua-lipa-tro...l-health/23993/ My heart breaks for how she must have felt So proud she pulled through and shut them up with the Don't Start Now era |

It is always sad to hear these stories but on the flipside you can't expect to be IMMUNE from criticism and the odd joke.
Ppl made fun of that One Kiss dance for a reason, they didn't just spin the dial and it turned on that particular one. Obviously hateful comments are way below the belt but if someone didn't think she has stage presence that's an absolutely fair assessment to make and if anything should inspire the artist to improve their craft & prove the naysayers wrong! |
