Decent numbers for Cars but slightly lower openings that the first two (Cars 1 opened at $60million and Cars 2 opened highest at $66 million - it seems that entry killed off a bit of the goodwill of the Cars franchise).
AMAZING hold for Wonder Woman (only a 30.3% drop!). Despite being 'only' the 40th highest opening weekend of all-time in the US, that makes it the 11th highest ever third weekend which gives you a indication of how good those holds are. Both Man of Steel and Suicide Squad only made $20 million in their third weekends, just over half of Wonder Woman's third weekend
Pretty dreadful for ScarJo and her comedy though, I'm still looking forward to it though
Daniel Day-Lewis has announced he is retiring from acting. His final role will be in the upcoming Paul Thomas Anderson (The Master, There Will Be Blood, Boogie Nights) film rumoured to be called Phantom Thread!
Also, A Dog's Purpose may be getting a sequel due to its financial success. It made $193million worldwide on a small $22million production budget so will have made a big profit, largely thanks to the mega box office it achieved in China!
I never got around to seeing A Dog's Purpose but maybe I should, everyone said it was cute little film. I wonder where they's take a sequel though in terms of moving the plot forward?
Well really I think they should be doing a spin-off based around cats
Phil Lord & Christopher Miller have supposedly left the Han Solo film???? I swear this was filming atm?
