I listened to this for the first ever time the ever day. It's really not great and totally inessential in my opinion. The Nothing Fails remix ruins the song totally for me. I assume the only reason this even surfaced was to get her out of her contract at the time?

This was the last release under her contract with Maverick Records and her shares in the company were purchased in 2004. Seems there was some legal issues between Maverick and Warner - perhaps someone with better understanding can explain what went on?
The original plan was for a commemorative boxset to be released to mark 20 years since the release of Madonna's debut album. Not sure what was set to be on the boxset, was it a complete collection of all her singles or something? I've only listened to this album in full a couple of times. The remix of 'American Life' was used on the Re-invention Tour which I enjoy in its live setting. 'Your Honestly' was a Bedtime Stories outtake and I really like that one, not an injustice that it wasn't on the main album but it's nice to have that track available. |

I like the remix of American Life
I like Into The Hollywood Groove And the into the groove remix . Was a nice item for those three. |
