I'm genuinely baffled as to why they're supporting Ellie now when they ignored 'Power'

Sounds like damage control, but then again the fact tat R1 ignored it and have playlisted the new one suggests there might be some truth to it

I think I would have put Joel Corry straight to A List tbh. He seems popular and Head and Heart is looking to be massive.
Good to see Becky Hill added and surprised to see Derulo moved up to B. Will be interesting to see if they A List it or just keep it B-listed. |

the Ellie comment on Power seems like what is typically said after a song flops

People's assumptions of Ellie being blacklisted/snubbed proven wrong
 (not in the way I expected but still - honestly I can 100% believe 'Power' was just a label concession allowing her to release a song she wanted to and wasn't even pushed to Radio 1, bear in mind practically all the other singles she's put out have been big American collaborations that have not really suited her usual sound and have all been crammed onto a 'disc 2' on the album, which kind of screams 'the label forced me to release these').With that said, 'Slow Grenade' imo is a better song than 'Power', still not amazing but definitely one of the best singles from this era (only behind 'Hate Me' imo). A good set of additions this week, not sure I'd have predicted any Pop Smoke song being added (not least because it wasn't clear there was a proper single at all from this album (other than 'Make It Rain')) but happy to see it. 'My High' and 'Ego Death' are the only adds that I really love but the others are all enjoyable songs too. Also going to confidently predict that Jawsh 685 will be A-Listed xx |
