2. 'Love Me Harder' // 9.85 Best: George.keh, Jade, blacksquare, (11) / Mistake: JosephStyles (8) So here we have it, your choice for #2, with a seriously impressive score of 9.85, it's that gorgeous and sensual track 'Love Me Harder'. (Not even too much.) Listening to it whilst writing this is making me feel guilty for scoring it a 9. It's pretty crazy that it's lowest score was an 8 from Joseph. It collected top marks from, George.keh, Jade and blacksquare. Another Max Martin, Savan Kotecha penned masterpiece, 'Love Me Harder' served as the fourth single from the album. It was very underappreciated on the week of it's release, (probably down to the fact is was a post album single) bubbling around the middle parts of charts worldwide, only scraping into the top 50 in the UK, but making it to #7 in the USA. It still went on to get a whole bunch of certifications around the world. The track also helped 'The Weekend' skyrocket to fame, his vocals melt in with Ariana like sugar and butter into sweet, smooth toffee... now there's a metaphor for you. (ew.) Rather unusually in Australia and New Zealand 'Love Me Harder' was released as an EP, including cut 'My Everything' tracks 'Cadillac Song' and 'Too Close'. |

Yeah, the random surge in indifference towards BF lately is really odd aha. WHAT A SONG. Even better live too It sounds dated to these ears, so the indifference has probably come as time has gone and unlike her other songs, this doesn't sound as good now looking back. Love Me Harder is THAT SONG. A total package. I still hear Gaga's Do What U Want in the production and whether directly influenced or not (subject matter or just musically) it's JUST AS INCREDIBLE. The correct winner here though ~ what a perfect song in every way. |

'Love Me Harder' is incredible and the song that turned me into more of a fan I'm so pleased to see that outpouring of love. No lower than an 8? Yassss!

1. 'One Last Time' // 10.3 Best: Jonjo, Jordan Lee, coi, Wall, JosephStyles, kye (11) / Mistake: George.keh, ...ready for it (9) So, I think we all saw this winner coming! 'One Last Time' appears to be one of Ariana's most beloved songs on the forum, alongside 'no tears left to cry'. Now we have some numbers to back it up! 'One Last Time' received an impressive 10.3 average, which included 6 11s and no score lower than a 9. This song was immediately a fan favourite, if you look back at the album thread from the time on here, you can see multiple people calling out for it to be a single. This was only single #4 of the campaign, yet it's had the most endurance of them all! It seems that Ariana has a knack for saving hits for later, with 'Side To Side' also peaking in the top 5 here but only serving as single #3. This did not immediately set the charts on fire here, but it was a marked improvement on 'Love Me Harder's UK chart performance nevertheless, as it landed in the top 40 - a #24 peak at that. However, it would experience a chart resurgence 2 years later for the most tragic of reasons. 'One Last Time' was re-released as a charity single, following the devastating effects of the Manchester Arena bombing. This, along with 'Don't Look Back In Anger' by Oasis, was a song that people clung on to at such a difficult time. So much so that it blew its old peak out of the water, instead peaking at #2 in 2017. At last this song got what it truly deserved. I was always a fan of 'One Last Time', but I must admit that it hit me way harder after the attack. It became such a tough but important listen. The song is actually about wanting a former lover to spend one last time with you, despite them moving on. But it's developed a whole new meaning now. As for the production elements, it's David Guetta who is credited in amongst Ariana's usual writing and producing suspects. Guetta's releases are pretty hit-or-miss for me, but this manages to be a dance-pop song with beautiful production. As for the video, I think the song deserved a lot better, although it's eerie to watch now. It centres around the apocalypse and of course we now associate this song with a scary world event in real life. The best thing about the video for me is probably the involvement of her fellow Victorious cast members, as the boy in the video is Matt Bennett and one of the news reporter voices at the start is Elizabeth Gillies. This song is a stunning triumphant moment in Ariana's discography that I'm sure fans will treasure forever. What a winner. Full results: 1 10.3 One Last Time 2 9.85 Love Me Harder 3 8.96 Break Free 4 8.77 Just a Little Bit of Your Heart 5 8.62 Break Your Heart Right Back 6 8.03 Why Try 7 7.69 My Everything 8 7.15 Problem 9 6.96 Best Mistake 10 6.62 Be My Baby 11 6.26 Bang Bang 12 6.23 Hands on Me 13 6.07 Only 1 14 5.19 You Don't Know Me 15 4.92 Intro Thanks to everyone who followed along! A big happy 5th birthday once again to 'My Everything'. |

the ultimate ariana track for me, so glad it’s the winner. it’s amongst my top 10 favourite songs ever + that was before anything happened to resurge it’s popularity.
i think it’s the perfect pop song, i wouldn’t change anything about it as it’s all just done so well. if i could change anything about the overall package, it’d be the video. it was done seriously dirty, it deserved a massive pop star moment video. and like jade said in the commentary.. it is frightening that the song with that video was the one that people clung to after the attack. |

Can't argue with the winner at all. Such an amazing pop song and all the more special since One Love Manchester.

Predictable but the most deserving winner. What a stormer of a pop song. Even before the events that propelled the song to new levels, it was by far and away the best thing she'd ever done for me. I was so worried that it wouldn't ever be a single so I when it was announced as single 4 I was ecstatic. It's original chart run was pretty much what I'd have expected from a single by that point in the ME era. In fact, as LMH failed to go top 40, I wasn't sure what to expect. For sure, one of my favourite songs of all time <3
A timeless, anthemic, euphoric piece of pop. Simply gorgeous. Gah. I could swoon over it all day. |

I think we got a pretty correct order or results between us! One Last Time very almost got my 11 also, such a powerful song as you said Jade, since the attack it really hits you.
